So, what I conveyed to her was not shared with the groomer, let's call her V. V rushed in saying she had to take a phone call, so she did not acknowledge me. The helper put the lead around my 60 pound dog who was reluctant to leave me. When I looked up, she was literally dragging my dog across the floor by her neck. V did put a stop to that after I voiced that my dog could be hurt​. I had chosen the length to be between the second and third swatch for length, but more toward the third. My small dog was given what I can only imagine was not either because her skin was showing through. When I got my dog home, she was so miserable with scratching and biting and itching. I finally had to go buy oatmeal and coconut oil to bathe her in an oatmeal bath and soothe her skin further with the oil. The manager called me after I pointed out my experience. We had a nice conversation about having this be a learning experience and bringing these points up at their next meeting. Then V called. No matter what I said, she had a come back that placed blame on me, my dog, or some product that was used. I gave up trying to have a mutually beneficial conversation. I will never go back. I suggest you find a different grooming salon for your dogs also. Negative short summary: Groomer late to appt. Did not communicate with me because her personal phone call was more important. The next day I drove 30 minutes for her appointment, they asked about the shots and I told them what I said over the phone. they told me they couldn't take her in even tho they told me the day before that they could.

BEWARE! See attached photos/videos…read more We brought our beloved Lilly Peppercorn to Puppy's Playpen, providing clear reference photos of exactly how she should be styled. PP sliced her eyelid with scissors, botched her appearance, crushed her spirit, took zero accountability, showed zero compassion, and cancelled US as customers. During pick-up, our dog looked nothing like she was supposed to. Worse yet, we noticed that she was squinting in one eye and it was red and bloodshot. When we asked what happened, they casually dismissed it, saying, "She probably just had hair in her eye." After putting Lilly P in the car and looking at her some more, we decided my S/O would go back in and ask for a refund for the trim. They tried to tell my S/O that I specifically requested changes to her appearance when I dropped her off. In reality, I TEXTED the groomer (that morning during drop-off) a photo of how she is meant to look after a trim and asked them not to deviate from her style at all. While they begrudgingly approved a refund, the manager, Valerie, rather than taking any accountability or providing any degree of customer service, said that Puppy's Playpen would be cancelling us as customers. Once we got home, our poor girl was quivering, clearly shaken, and not acting like herself. She wouldn't play or engage with us at all, which is completely out of character as she is 100% play-driven. She just sat on the couch, shaking and squinting with one eye. Concerned, we took her to the vet, only to discover that her eyelid had been sliced through with scissors and that she would need anti-biotic / steroid eyedrops to heal up. When we called the shop about the issue, not only did they refuse to take accountability, but the same manager, Valerie, showed no compassion, empathy, or care AT ALL. Instead of offering any meaningful resolution, she coldly told us, that they would not reimburse vet bills, citing their terms of service applicable to everyone, and reminding us not to come in again. This entire experience has been heartbreaking, unacceptable, and frankly, jarring. We trusted Puppy's Playpen to treat and make our beloved dog look great, and they completely failed--not just in their work, but in their basic duties of care and decency. My doggies are low maintenance on grooming but certainly need one from time to time. The customer service here is great and there is one employee who is just fantastic! I need to ask her name because she is just so helpful and nice! She has been there every time I go in besides one. She has short hair and wears glasses, probably close to my height at 5'2 or a little taller. She is a treasure and if I get her name, I'll come back and add it here. She is an asset for this business! Always helps me pick out good items, promotes products but not in a pushy way, makes sure my pets have any free samples available. I'd advise taking care with fish- they use RO water, so drip acclimation will be necessary if you're on KC tap water. The Pygmy's cories I got from them were healthy, but they needed a slow acclimation to be put into my quarantine. They're now in the display. They're knowledgeable about their fish and plants (I'd assume salt water as well, but I don't have a saltwater tank, so I can't say one way or the other). The plants I've purchased from them have been great, except for one buce brownie tissue culture that melted and hasn't come back, but apparently my tank doesn't like buce, because I've tired multiple times, and buce melts and never come back, so I don't fault them for that. Their plants are nearly always in good shape and happy. I did buy some downoi that was super leggy, and so I trimmed it to use only the best of it. It's there, in the tank, and I'm watching to see what it does. But the tissue culture of the downoi I got from them really took off, and is propagating just fine. Their cost is in line with online sellers when you factor in shipping. I'll continue to use them. I've been pleased with the knowledge of the employees and their locality.
