Knowing it was my dog's very first groom , Anna was incredibly patient and showed kindness from the moment we arrived . She took the time to read my dog's comfort level , gave her space when needed , and never pushed any boundaries -- which meant everything to me as a nervous pet parent . My dog was a little anxious , but Anna had a calming presence that kept my dog at ease throughout the whole appointment . She was gentle , caring , and clearly took her time to make sure the experience was positive rather than rushed . You can tell Anna genuinely loves and respects the animals in her care . Anna also mentioned to me she wanted to reinforce positive experience with grooming so our groom took a bit longer (total time of 2.25 hours) We will absolutely be coming back and requesting Anna every time . Very disappointing experience. I brought my dog in for an 11:30 AM grooming appointment and didn't hear anything for hours. I had to call at 3:30 PM just to check, and they said he was "almost ready." I didn't pick him up until 4pm. When I got there, there was NO haircut done, just a blow dry. You couldn't even see his eyes. I had clearly asked for a teddy bear cut, but they claimed they thought I didn't want a haircut, which I never said. I didn't realize I had to say "haircut" since I'm already paying for the service. I left and came back at 7 PM after they said they would fix it. There was a slight trim around his face and ears, but still no proper haircut and the sanitary trim (which is included in the $70 package) was not done. I was told manager Joe would call me and never got a call from him. I had to call a couple days later. I asked for a partial refund since the haircut wasn't completed and the assistant manager let me know that the manager refused, even when I offered to just pay for the bath and blowout. Paid for a full grooming and didn't receive it. Poor communication, long wait, incomplete service, and no accountability. Would not return. read more

I took my dog to Pets Plus Grooming on March 2, 2026 and paid $75 for what they called a "complete package." Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service. When I picked up my dog, only his face had been trimmed. The fur on his body was left untouched, including his tummy and paws. His rear was not shaved, and his nails were not trimmed either. This was far from what I expected from a complete grooming package. When I asked the groomer why his whole body and paws were not trimmed, she told me she "didn't want to hurt him." While I understand safety is important, there was no communication beforehand about any issues, and I was still charged full price for incomplete service. Very disappointed with my experience. I booked the $53 Bath & Brush package because the description clearly says it includes a nail trim, scissoring around the feet, pad shaving, and a sanitary trim. When I dropped off my dog, they asked if I wanted a nail trim for an extra $10. I agreed, even though I later realized it was already supposed to be included in the package. When I picked him up, none of his hair had been trimmed at all -- no paw pad shaving, no trimming around the feet, and no sanitary trim. He basically only got a bath and nail trim. After the extra charge and tip, I paid over $70 for what was essentially just a bath and nail trim. Overall, I really like this store. They carry some brands I can no longer find elsewhere, the prices are competitive with other boutique style pet stores, and they send some nice coupons if you sign up for their emails. I don't live in the area, so when I'm in Pleasanton I make a special trip there and stock up on wet food for the 6 cats I'm responsible for. Today I bought $125 worth of canned cat food, but the store literally didn't have one single box that wasn't torn off at the end. This is the only store I've ever seen do this. Not only does it look terrible on the shelf, but it makes it impossible for a customer to get more than half a dozen cans safely home. I will have to rethink doing my large hauls there if they don't/can't save a handful of intact boxes for their customers (I asked at the counter and was told that all of the intact boxes had already been recycled...). Also, they could really use a better offering of kitty litter boxes. I have to go to Pet food Express to get what I need. It would be great if they could carry some less expensive cat toys too. Today (day after my visit) I checked my receipt and see that I was charged for 6 cans of dog food when I only bought 2, and my coupon didn't take the correct % off many if not all of my items (I'm still going through it). I come here often to purchase my cat & dog food and treats and I'm also a frequent user of the self-serve dog wash for my yorkie. This week I decided to give their grooming department a try and booked an appointment a couple days ago in person. I thought I was all set for today to get my dog groomed. I showed up a little before 4pm for our appointment, but she wasn't on the appointment list and the groomer had no idea we were coming in. I was offered a different time to book or to call in to book, but I'm not too interested in trying them again after this booking experience. Very poor customer service! Waited at the register while the employee was on the phone for over 5 minutes. I was the ONLY customer in the store. The employee knew that I was standing there waiting to be checked out for 3 small items. He never acknowledged me or said a word. The employee that finally did check me out, said nothing about me waiting. You could tell how much heart she puts into finding these pups good homes. The store also had a huge stack of food donations, all provided by the store itself, ready to go to the rescue. I was visiting from out of town and my dogs needed a quick bath after a visit to the beach. I heard this place had a pet wash where I could bathe them myself. My husband and I walked in at 6:22 pm and there were two women at the register, neither one of them greeted us when we walked in. We asked where we could find the pet wash and were told their closing at 7 and weren't allowing any more pet washes. I guess they ASSUMED 40 minutes wasn't enough time. I've taken my dog a bath within 30 minutes at home, all they needed was an express wash, not a wash and a groom. Just something to wash off all the sand from the beach. I decided I'll just purchase some shampoo and wash them at my daughter's apartment. I find the shampoo, then head to the register where both cashiers were still standing. I asked, can I check out here? Both of them looked at each other, then said me replied back to me and said yes. She rang me up, gave me my total. I paid and walked out. Again disappointed. Someone needs to teach them some customer service skills. I have a few tips! How about you greet your customers with a friendly hello when they walk in the door? You shouldn't have to ask if you can check out when there are two cashiers behind the register. They should " offer" to check you out when they see you at the register holding an item. First time customer for the self service dog wash. $17 single wash or $50 wash punch card for five washes that don't expire. Got there at 10:30am and we were second in line. Two large dog (knee height) and one small dog (waist height) wash stations. Basic shampoos provided. Freeze dried chicken breast treats provided. Aprons provided. Large clean towels provided. Vacuum blew lukewarm air temp to start, then warmed up eventually. We left at 11:30am, but our jindo dog took 30min to dry. 5/5 star for service at the check out stand and also for the self service dog wash area. No complaints. Bring your own brush. Don't bother to shower before, hair will be everywhere. Flip flops aren't necessary. read more

I would not recommend this store. Spent over $150 on dog food. The $70 bag of dog food made my dog sick. She had never had a problem with this brand before. I tried to exchange it for different flavor, same brand. The supervisor and the owner refused to exchange or even give partial store credit. No refunds, no exchanges on opened bags. The supervisor would not even speak with us. Zoe, the cashier was great but I hope the owner treats her better than they treat their customers, or should I say previous customer. I went down the street to Pet Food Express, where I got great customer service, same product and they have a return policy. Honestly I hate to do this. But the groomer that did cut my dog's hair was awful. Her name is Ebony. I wouldn't recommend anyone going to her. She cut her all the way down to skin. NOT WHAT We asked for. And blamed it on her being matted. However, did not call us to tell us this was our only options. She just did it.... Never had this experience here before. In fact this place has been our favorite to our dogs too. Never again unless they take responsibility and make up for this. My dog looks goofy now. AND SHE CHARGED us a dematting fee but didn't even do it. Just cut around it. Feel free to look up my dogs information and reach out if management has questions. This review is about a great experience my family had last Sunday at this cute pet supplies store. it was buzzing with adorable pups and kittens and we had such a great time interacting with valley humane society and the store staff. We were not ready to make a commitment on the spot and the store staff went out of her way to make sure we did not feel rushed and had the right contact information to get back to them. I made an appointment for my dog Ruby to get groomed at 12:30, and upon drop off , the groomer told me she'd have her done in 2 1/2- 3 hours. My dog is almost 12 years old and gets very stressed going to the groomer, so I try to pick her up ASAP once she is done to keep her from staying in a stressful environment any longer than she needs to be. I waited from 12:30 until 3:50 and decided to call to just check up on her and see how it was going. When I called the man up front said he would check and returned to tell me that the groomer was behind and hadn't even started grooming Ruby and that it would be at least another hour. I was immediately upset knowing my dog had been sitting in a cage for 3 1/2 hours for no reason. They could have called to tell me they were backed up and I would have been happy to pick her up and bring her back when the groomer was available. I asked the guy at the front if the groomer had started whatsoever, and he clarified that she had not. I immediately told them I wanted to come get Ruby and not continue with the original appointment. As I drove to get there (I live 5 mins away), they called me and left a voicemail saying they had bathed her and that I would be charged for that. I'm not sure what the bathing situation was, or when that happened within the 3 1/2 hours Ruby was there, but I didn't feel that paying the demanded $34 for that was something I was willing to front after being told she hadn't even started 5 mins prior. When I told this to the groomer she shoved my dog at me and rudely said "it's on me." I will never return to this groomer. My dog sat in a cage for 3 1/2 hours for no reason and I felt really bad for her! For future, if the groomer is swamped, which is understandable, they should inform the owner so they can make the best decision for their dog. read more

Not sure how Pet Supplies Plus stores all across the country do this, but they do a phenomenal job of hiring employees who genuinely love and are very knowledge about pets and pet care and are also (thankfully) very tolerant of their humans! Pet Supplies often does have competitive pricing for food (when it's on sale), treats, clothing, toys, and any other accessories you might be looking for. They don't have an expansive collection as they usually only carry 1-2 brands (for accessories), but sometimes having too many choices is a problem! This PSP in Pleasanton is now closest to us, and we'll be calling it our new home. Wish it were closer! We were recently in before Christmas and the two young employees who checked us out were so helpful and cheerfully answered all our questions. Also, pro-tip: If you're not a member of the rewards program, what are you waiting for?! It's probably one of the best rewards programs out there, allowing you to accrue points by just learning more about how to care for your pet, and new offerings, without the constant impetus for you to buy something. I've always had great experiences here. I started using this pet shop because of their self-service dog grooming area. You can buy 5 washes in advance at a highly discounted rate (ask for the Dirty Dog Discount card) I have found that the grooming area is kept up well and always well-stocked with a variety of shampoos and conditioning sprays, towels, brushes, even dog treats. My dog loves coming here for his bath :) The employees are always friendly and helpful. Sadly, I will be leaving the area soon, hopefully they will expand to where we will be moving eventually.
