Our Vet has over 40yrs experience and the same type of dog and has never lost a dog until ours. Needless to say everyone there my wife myself the doctor all the girls and office manager all cried some that day. When we called about the so called puppy guarantee ( what a joke) the girl who answered was just rude uncaring after approx 10 minutes of that she final gave up and said you need to talk to the owner anyhow nothing I can do. except be total rude little ______ for 10 minutes. She wouldn't let us leave message and said nothing she can do for us and hung up. We called for over a week but never got and return calls just rude staff giving us the blow off. ONCE they get your money its TS who cares nothing you can do hung up! So myself and my whole family would tell you do not buy anything from them these dogs are little more the feed stock to them I can only imagine what they do to defects and the old ones that don't sell quick. There mean heartless uncaring and it showed. Do your research before buying anywhere and don't buy here. We thought we did but guess not in hindsight you fall in love with a playful little bundle of energy and they got you you'll do almost anything then to make your wife or daughter happy thats what they play on. YES THEY ARE A FROM WHAT I FOUND A PUPPY MILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: Odds are 10 to 1 against you finding a good honest real breeder Some of these post seem to be more about convincing you how great Ridgewood is then a real experience of buying a little puppy. Could be me but really read the posts for what they are saying see if I'm right or wrong? GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES Finding your little buddy.

We called and left several messages asking for the parent information so that we can tell our vet what the dog history is with the stomach but no one ever called us back as they knew they sold us a sick dog. At a minimum he's allergic to every food and having the family history so we know how to treat and for what would have been nice as even the vet said there was something wrong with his parents. Be careful of this place they sell sick dogs. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere.

I feel…read morecompelled to leave this negative review because the death of my bird taught me a lesson--one I want other pet owners to heed, as the cost was far too high, and no one should have to learn this through the loss of their pet. The receptionist (an Asian-American woman) acted like a wall standing between me and the medical staff. When I asked her about medical details (such as medication) over the phone, she claimed she had no medical background; yet, when I asked to speak with someone who *did* have medical knowledge, she refused, saying, "They are very busy and don't have time." When I asked her to tell the doctor that my parrot needed lab tests (blood and droppings) before starting medication, she simply said, "That's how we treat diarrhea; no tests are needed." My parrot, Lisa, died within just a few days of falling ill. I had initially sought help at this clinic; later, when an emergency vet advised me to see an avian specialist, I was foolish enough not to follow that advice and instead contacted this clinic again. Lisa had started plucking her feathers after her mate died, and two days later, she developed watery droppings. When I spoke to the doctor at this clinic, I described the appearance of her droppings in detail because I wasn't sure if it was urine or diarrhea. The doctor neither examined the droppings in person nor ordered further lab tests (blood or fecal analysis); she simply told me to come to the clinic to pick up a nutritional supplement. Lisa died two days later! Before she passed, she was passing massive amounts of watery waste; I know she died from dehydration and an electrolyte imbalance. The medication the doctor ordered me to give Lisa had no effect whatsoever (I used medication I already had at home). After Lisa died, I asked the clinic to email me her medical records. Five days went by with no action on their part; only after I repeatedly urged them did they sluggishly send the records. I don't know why they were so careless and slow in handling this. What were they afraid of? After Lisa died, I consulted an avian specialist and showed them the medical records from both the emergency clinic and the clinic where she was treated. The specialist stated that it was highly likely Lisa had suffered from kidney disease; the watery discharge she was passing wasn't diarrhea--it was urine! However, without laboratory test results, it is extremely difficult to make a definitive diagnosis now. Lisa's death has left me heartbroken; my heartaches every day, and I still cannot stop myself from sobbing uncontrollably. I lost my beloved, cherished birds in the span of just 12 days--it was an unforgivable mistake on my part, and I am filled with profound regret. I urge all pet owners: if you ever feel that a clinic's treatment of your pet lacks logic or compassion, turn around immediately and go to another clinic--preferably to a specialist. Your pets' lives are fragile; they cannot afford to lose precious time. They can slip away in the blink of an eye, leaving you behind to suffer endless anguish.

Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. At some point over the years, as the business grew, she started sending other pet sitters she hired to do the job I mistakenly assumed she was still doing. I realized there were always other sitters but initially she was the one caring for my cats who are now deceased. When we adopted 3 new ones almost 7 years ago, I had her come over to meet them so they would be somewhat familiar with her when she came back to pet sit. I don't know if she ever came back herself after that or if it was a different person who did the pet sitting from that point on. She should have told me then that there would be a different sitter going forward. Communication has become less effective, instructions not followed properly, and during the most recent hiring of their services, the water bowls were not cleaned or changed out in 9 days. They had been refilled with more water so they never ran out (I assume), but the bowls were slimy on the bottom with scum, and the water dirty with cat hair, litter, food, and other debris that inevitably collects in a water bowl. The instructions I'd left specifically mentioned changing out the water bowls for cleaning, which should be a no-brainer if your job is caring for pets. Furthermore, whoever my assigned sitter was for this job, lied on her status update on the final day and wrote, "....put down new bowls of water for them." If a pet sitter can't do something as simple as giving your cats fresh bowls of water and lies about it, what else did they lie about? This last experience, along with the owner's cavalier response, has resulted in the termination of a professional relationship of more than a decade, which is also upsetting. A different response with an offered solution may have salvaged the broken trust and relationship, but I guess she no longer needs or cares about my business.
