I told the Dr my concerns about a growth on my Finn's paw. Even though my dog was not scheduled for an exam he did a biopsy of the growth and even analyzed it under a microscope and precribed an antibiotic since it thankfully turned out to be a just an infection. I boarded a reactive dog there and was explicit that he could not be with other dogs. Within the first two days, the owner, Drew, ignored this - not even a staff member, the owner! - and brought his dog into the same play space with the dog I boarded. He thought this would be ok bcse the dog I boarded was male and the owners was female and everyone knows that male and female dogs always get a long. What a reckless, terrible place. He did this not once, but twice. I wasn't notified until the second time and my dog was injured!!!! I got him out of there as fast as possible. Not only was my dog not safe there, but I also did not feel safe. The owner was aggressive, unapologetic, and increasing the creep factor one of the staff that I interacted with asked a lot of questions about the dog that I boarded and shared that he breeds pitbulls. What reputable dog care facility employs someone that breeds pitbulls in a state overrun by pitbulls being killed everyday. This is not a reputable boarding or care facility. I did not even bother trying to get reimbursed for my dog's vet bills. I was happy to have Animal Resorts in the rear view and all things considered, my dog was safe in my care. However, I was very sorry to hear that within 6 months another dog had died while in their care. This review is long overdue, but I have learned my lesson recently about not posting a review when it can help others. I hope all stay well away from Animal Resorts.

Animals must be up to date on vaccines - if a new customer you need to provide proof (as with every other groomer!) Owners: Debbie & Fred My experience: I saw a business card for Muddy Paws Grooming in a local store and, as we moved here recently and had a Persian cat in dire need of a "hair-do" I called. Fred answered and was very gregarious, helpful, and such a delight to chat with. I told him about my 11 year old Persian and why I wanted the Lion Cut done, that my cat is up to date on shots and so forth. Fred gave me some days and times that I could schedule and we were set. We also discussed price so I had an idea what the price would be. I recommend doing this in case you need to bring cash - as it is only a cash or check establishment. Appointment: I drove over to Muddy Paws, parked in the driveway as the business is in the back of their private home, walked to the first door on the left and knocked and Fred warmly opened the door and welcomed us in. We chatted for a while as he took down the required contact information and so on. Fred also told me that I was the only appointment that day at Muddy Paws so he let me put my cat down and he wandered all over the place. The Shop: traditional grooming equipment is all around, there were a few crates for animals however I know there is a limit to the amount of animals that Muddy Paws schedules to overlap for practical reasons. Fred told me about his fancy bath and how it has a speed control for the water and shampoo so that it doesn't startle the cats like some of the other shower head products out there. I thought this was very cool. Later: I received a call that afternoon that my guy was ready to be picked up. My friend who also recently moved to the area accompanied me as I told her about Muddy Paws and she is interested for her dog. We walked in and Fred was smiling and told us how good my kitty had been, what he did and so on. I also introduced my friend letting him know she is interested in his grooming services as well. Complete Opinion: Due to the fact that we were the only appointment that day Fred was kind enough to talk with us for at least another 30 minutes about the area, where we could get certain foods, different restaurants and so on. He moved to the area over a decade ago and has loved it and he asked us where we moved from, etcetera. It is so refreshing to meet such kind and generous people! Not only that - but my cat looks as ridiculous as to be expected and I could not be happier...no more hair balls for a while... I highly recommend Muddy Paws and hope that if you decide to give them a try that you are as pleased as I am.

Boy did I make a terrible mistake. When I first got to the salon, maybe 5 minutes before my appointment, I rang the doorbell and waited. And waited, and waited, and waited so long my fiance went to the car to try to call inside to make sure we were at the right time and place. After peering into the glass and finally seeing a man grooming a dog, I realized we were in the right spot. The shop was small, loud, dirty and just generally stressful. I should have just turned around then! After finishing up the phone call he was taking instead of answering the door, I was finally greeted by Fred. He started to look over my dogs, a Border Collie and Pyrenean Shepard. The Border Collie was a pretty easy case, but my little Shepard was a bit of a challenge. Fred mistakenly called my dog a Wheaton Terrier, and after I corrected him, he seemed to be pretty convinced that he was correct, and that I actually did have a Wheaton Terrier. Anyways, I knew that she was going to be a challenge. Her legs and face had some mats, but I've definitely seen her worse. He explained to me that he would have to shave her, which I figured, but the way it was done was HORRIBLE. He cut her whiskers entirely off without mercy, uneven shaves on her face, butt, tummy, and all I was left with was some stupid puff on her head. Now I understand that she was in rough shape and needed a decent shave, but our old groomer never sent her back like this. He also clearly did not care to take time with the Border Collie and use proper scissors, instead there was evidence that the took the same razor and just chopped chunks off. I have sheers and can shave my dog. That's not why I paid over 100 dollars. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The dogs came back shaky and sad, and I feel terrible I put them through this.
