The pet food portion of this place is great - this review is about the groomer. Bottom line, DO NOT go here for grooming. I've been looking for a groomer closer to home so decided to try Toni at Pet Town since she's had good reviews. Run away and don't even consider having her groom your dog. 1. I was quoted $50 for grooming services. When I arrived I was told it would be $70. My very professional favorite grooming place in Silverdale doesn't even charge me that much. 2. I told the groomer not to use the dryer on my dog as that would freak her out. Guess what - yep, she used it and it freaked her out. Dur. 3. Less than an hour after I dropped her off I got a call that she was ready - there was no way she'd be ready that soon unless corners were cut. 4. She didn't get much of a hair trim. I showed up and had to hold my dog so she could clip her feet and I noticed that my very bad clipping job on her neck and stomach was still intact. Suffice it to say I am no groomer. I asked when dropping her off to get this cleaned up but that didn't happen. And then when I said something to management I just got a shoulder shrug. Yes, I should have refused to pay the money and raised a bigger stink, but I was mostly in shock that this lady got such good reviews and that I got taken so badly. Suffice it to say that I could have done a more professional job using the self-bathing option. read more

We have a 13 year old mini Labradoodle who is blind, deaf and always in pain due to arthritis. He doesn't like strangers and the older he gets the harder it is. It has been a challenge finding a GOOD groomer to try working with us. Wow did we find it, Toni was amazing, to her it is all about the dog. We new we were limited on time so the cut was "fun-ny" but we got so far and Finn was actually kissing her when we were done. I couldn't have ask for a better groomer and better results. Finn finally found the groomer he wanted. Thank you so much for you true caring Toni. read more

We had our 2 dogs done there a couple months ago and they did a horrible job! Uneven all over and their paw hair wasn't cut and nails not trimmed. We spent $110.00 dollars there...what a waste! It looked like I cut their hair! Will never go back and do not recommend this place. read more

Today the lights were on and the door was unlocked 9:15 but when o went in a lady rudely said "we are closed!" My first review of this business was regarding their grooming salon. Still terrific, still highly recommend. She's hard to get scheduled with, but worth the wait. This review is for the store, and their customer service, and their apparent lack of reading skills. Maybe that's a little unkind; I should perhaps criticize their poor observation skills, and lack of knowledge regarding the products they sell. I called them less than an hour before asking my son to stop and pick up a single dose of a flea treatment for one of my dogs. I'm disabled. I have trouble getting out of the house to run errands, so I checked their stock, before asking someone to go out of their way to help me. The person I spoke to confirmed that it was in stock. A short time later, my son went to the cashier to purchase it, and was told they don't sell it. The person at the counter didn't look around, or ask anyone. My son, after a long day at work, didn't wait around, and just left. I called the store again. I spoke with an employee who also told me they didn't carry it. She didn't seem to know what it was. I asked her to look around, or ask someone else, since the person I spoke with originally seemed to be reading directly from a package. She then seemed to look at what was right in front of her, and said... "Oh yeah. It's right here." Idiots. They also don't keep a reliable stock of large bags of dog food. They don't keep a reliable stock of guinea pig food, or even a reliable stock of timothy hay. I really need to stop wasting my time trying to buy from a small local business, since they don't understand the basic concept of stocking supplies. I'll just order online from Chewy.com. read more

This store literally saved my dog! He is severely allergic to soo many different types of food and they carry one of the only foods that he's not allergic to. The staff was friendly and very helpful they welcomed my dogs into the store. They even offered to try to find leashes for me! I will be back! read more

This place has the best employees with outstanding customer service. Go in and check it out. If they don't have something you need, just ask and they will order it for you. All my pet needs can be purchased there. They didn't have an answer for me and my needs BUT they made 2 phone calls for me to find the answer. AND they carried out my bag of dog food to my car. read more

I thought when the woman behind counter gave me my total it was a bit steep, I was right. I figured out when I got home that I was over-charged by $13. I wondered why she was in such a hurry to load me up and get me out of there, for that much I can take my own damn dog food out to the car. Never got a receipt either, can't do much about it now. read more

I absolutely LOVE this store! Wide variety of things for most small pets! (I only really looked at Dog, Cat, and Fish products. But there was more!). The employees are very knowledgable and helpful. I have been able to set up my whole fishtank and stock it from this store with a lot of help from the ladies who work here! Extremely disappointed in this store and their employees. If I could give zero stars I would. They have a baby axolotl that they are keeping on gravel (which can impact them if they swallow it, which they will, axolotls will eat anything smaller than their head) being kept with Cory cat fish and snails. Axolotls should be kept with axolotls only. She stated they only feed him ONCE A WEEK. Which is not nearly enough. I'm a breeder, I have 10 happy and healthy axolotls at home, and I have literally bred HUNDREDS of axolotls. I feed our babies once a day. When I brought up in improper husbandry, she told me "there's nothing she can do". I told her she could remove the fish, snails, gravel, and that will be much better. She said they couldn't do that. So I told her if you can't change the tank he's in, maybe she should just tub him with cool water and do daily water changes. She said she couldnt do that. When I told her it needs to be fed more, she told me she read online if he is fed a big enough meal he can go 3 weeks in between eating. Which is the furthest from correct. I told her with the combination of everything going on, he will most likely pass away before they can even sell him. She simply asked if she could help me with anything else. I don't understand how anyone working at a PET STORE can neglect such innocent little happy creatures. And then completely ignore all advice to improve his quality of life. read more

Great customer service- product is ok... I bought a few dog toys from there and they are normally fine. One day I spent like $15 on a dog toy that was made for my dogs age group... needless to say she ripped it to pieces in less than 20 minutes. I took it back to the store with my receipt in hopes that they would stand behind there product, but the lady behind the counter said they do not accept returns or exchanges. Nor would they give me a discount on another dog toy. I went to Shelton to paws and claws to pick her up some new toys and treats and they are supper nice and helpful there, . But at pet town there customer service is truly great, so kudos to them for that :) read more

Clean and organized but the staff wasn't very polite and one of the hamsters bit me and drew blood. The staff wasn't very apologetic and she said the the hamster that I tried to pet was a mom to the other hamsters and that's why she bit but if that's the case wouldn't you think they would post a sign stating that? And she gave me the ok to pet them. So it's a nice pet shop but don't pick much faith in the staff. read more

Not a friendly staff at all. The two ladies that work the cashier are horrible. I am a caregiver and taking care of a patient in the area. When I explained my situation and payment method they immediately dismissed me. They didn't take the time to call the home of my patient to verify any information or help. Maybe they didn't want to deal with me because I'm Hispanic. The guy that works the weekends amazing! The ladies horrible. My patient is dying of a terminal illness so I'm taking care of his well being and pets. I felt I was bothering them. Went to a neighboring pet store, and they immediately helped called and verified ...no problem. I'm just glad there are people In this town that like their job and want to help. read more
