Katie was amazing! She replicated my vision exactly, and the bouquets and arch arrangements for my wedding were absolutely gorgeous! She was professional and put up with all the changes I requested, which as a bride planning my own wedding I greatly appreciated. Her prices are very fair. I highly recommend Petals by Katie for a wedding, birthday, bridal shower, baby shower, anything!!
I'm so glad I had Katie as my wedding florist!! Wouldn't have changed a thing. I sent over a moodboard of inspiration and she went over every detail, flower by flower, to make sure she understood what we wanted. She was super helpful with making suggestions and open to picking flowers that fit within my budget. On the day of the wedding she was there early to set up and also helped transfer the arch flowers and repurpose them for the sweetheart table. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the flowers were. Some thought they were fake they were so perfect. 10/10 would recommend Katie to execute your vision!

We cannot say enough good things about Katie! We had a comparatively small budget for floral decoration but Katie took great care of us and was very willing to help us come up with creative ideas to achieve the goals with more budget-friendly options, like repurposing ceremony decorations. She even went above and beyond to connect me with a bride she worked with a year before, who had some terrarium candle holders at her wedding. Luckily, she was still looking to sell them and I ended up buying them from her at a very affordable price. Katie even offered to pick them up for me before the wedding since we live in San Francisco and having a destination wedding in San Diego. Her work was absolutely amazing! If you are interested in more details, here is the full story. We found Katie on Yelp 7 months before our wedding. We are not big flower people, so we wanted our wedding to be green and simple, with a few succulents here and there because we love the resilience of the plant. We communicated the vision on the phone with a Pinterest board we shared with her, we got an initial quote and we decided to hire her. Then we started to communicate more often and discuss more details about the decorations about 2,3 months ahead of the wedding via emails, but we weren't sure what we were exactly expecting. One month before the wedding, Katie joined us for the vendor walkthrough of the venue and we met for the first time. She showed us some photos of her past projects with similar themes to ours, which we really liked. During that very last month, we decided to have an arch, because we wanted to cover a huge white pillar in the background on the garden patio where our ceremony would happen. (I looked up photos of past weddings in the same venue, and really liked one wedding where the pillar was perfectly covered with flowers on a four-legged arch. But that decoration looked like it cost a grand!) I asked Katie whether it would be possible to achieve a similar effect with only greenery and plants within our budget. She told me some ideas and showed me a few more photos, and I told her I trust her best judgment. On the day of, when we did a quick walk-through before the ceremony, both my husband and I were amazed by how the arch looked and how the pillar was perfectly covered. It was even better than our best imagination. Later when we sneaked into the reception area, we were again stunned by how beautiful everything was. It was a magical day and Katie made it possible.
Yo, Katie DELIVERED! If you NEED a florist, stop what you're doing and call her!!! BOOK HER! She is so friendly and so easy to work with. I had the pleasure of working with her for my wedding this past month (June). Of course I booked her way in advanced last year. She will go over and talk with you either phone or in person into details about what flowers you want etc. There were sometimes where I didn't think of things like (flowers for the altar at the church or type of ribbons for the bouquets) and so glad she asked me. She also helped and suggested things when I was wasn't sure what looked good or not. She even created a really nice flower arrangements for the arch for my traditional tea ceremony. She wanted to make sure my roses came out the color that I wanted. I didn't know there were so many different colored roses. She is very punctual. She is someone you can rely on. There were extra rose petals that she used during my reception for the place cards and she even did a little extra for my sweetheart table. It was amazing!!! Also, if you want flowers on your cake, some florists don't offer that. KATIE will do it!!!! Please look at my pictures and you will see. She was amazing. Also, if you're on a really low budget wedding, she will offer lots of suggestions for you! I love her and I am soooooo thankful she did my wedding. THANK YOU KATIE!!!
I was never a huge flower person. I enjoy receiving them on special occasions, like anniversaries and Valentine's Day, but I don't know the first thing about floral arrangements especially for weddings. When I got engaged, I started looking for florists in San Diego that offer their services at reasonable prices because: 1) we had a modest wedding budget, 2) flowers weren't a top priority and 3) I have terrible floral arrangement skills so doing them myself wasn't going to happen. Thankfully, I came across Petals by Katie! Katie was easy to work with and incredibly sweet. If it took her a few days to get back to my email, it was because she was dedicating her time to another wedding. I appreciated that, since I knew she would focus 100% on my wedding when the time came. Well, the day of our wedding came and I woke up with my very first thought being, "Oh crap! I forgot to account for boutonnieres for my two brothers!" I texted Katie at 7 am and she responded back within minutes saying she will take care of it. I was so grateful for her prompt attention! Thank you, Katie, for being so accommodating throughout the process!

As it got closer to the wedding, we met over coffee where she had a folder with my mine and my husbands name on it and with our wedding date. Inside she had all our contracts and my inspiration photos. She took notes the entire time to make sure everything will be perfect. It felt so good to know somebody is as organized as I am! The day before the wedding, Katie drove to my hotel to pick up a last minute terrarium I wanted filled with flowers, which was so generous! On the day of, she set up my entire centerpiece including my candles and lantern placements. Every thing she created looked exactly like my Pinterest inspiration photos! Book Katie fast, you will not regret it!
Katie is so TALENTED! She was wonderful to work with and met with us a few times to discuss our floral vision. Katie is a superb florist. Her arrangements SPEAK. If you are a person who is drawn to flowers & uplifted by floral beauty, don't skimp on flowers for your wedding - especially if you are relying on an expert like Katie. Trust me, she'll do a great job. Order your heart out and watch the magic on your wedding day. What I most appreciated about Katie is that she asked for, and was able to create, a super-specific vision for the kinds of flowers, color palette, and styles I hoped to express at the wedding. She scoped out my "flowers" Pinterest page and wrote up a proposal so much more in line with what I wanted than another florist I was considering at the time. She was able to make aisle and lantern garlands exactly as they had appeared in the idealized photos - but she was also able to craft bridal and bridesmaid bouquets in the color palette & style I was drawn to using just her imagination. I went with a loose waterfall bouquet of lavender roses, stargazer lilies, dusty blue succulents and white/navy anemones, all tied together with copper wire. The flowers were in amazing shape. The groom & groomsmen received lavender rose boutonnieres which were also beautifully done. The bridesmaid bouquets were healthy and fresh and resonant with all the colors. The flowers really helped set the tone at our wedding. The one thing I will say: be sure you really look over Katie's initial proposal and figure out EXACTLY what you want, especially in terms of flower types, before you proceed. Undergoing too many renderings (updates to proposals) is time-consuming for florists. So think over the initial proposal, ask as many questions as you want, be totally honest about what you like and aren't sure about, and then make a final decision - rather than agreeing to a proposal immediately and then making edits later. Katie was one of the best choices we made at our wedding. Sign with her - you won't regret it.
Working with Katie was definitely one of the highlights of wedding planning. I had no clue what I wanted other than I knew I wanted succulents. I stopped by Katie's shop in OB and she let me pick out some succulents that I liked. My bouquet turned out amazing. She even put together succulents for my hair as we got ready in the hotel room. And if you are reading this and are a bride planning a wedding I know you are thinking budget ! We did our own centerpieces for the wedding but knew we had to get the personal flowers done professionally. I kid you not when I say that some florists were not too optimistic about my modest budget (450 to 500 ish) for a large bridal party (5 pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen and 4 pairs of Godparents) Katie did a STELLAR job and I got exactly what I wanted with my bouquet. And she is just a NICE person. I loved talking to her throughout the planning process. My bridesmaids' bouquets and the corsages and boutonniere s also came out great. It is almost a week after the wedding and I am still proudly displaying my bouquet. Thank you Katie !
If I could give 100 stars I would. Katie did the flowers for my wedding on 8/17/13 at the Hotel Indigo. I don't know much about flowers but I knew I wanted flowers that would pop in pictures and not blow my entire wedding budget. I shopped around and Katie was BY FAR the cheapest, most accommodating, friendliest florist I came across. She worked with my budget, sent me lots of ideas, and was always prompt with responses. Katie delivered my flowers to the venue, set up the table vases, and made the day a million times less stressful. I cannot recommend Petals by Katie enough for brides who are looking for gorgeous flowers, on a budget, and a florist who doesn't immediately hear the word wedding and see dollar signs.
Katie did my wedding on 10/19/13. From the moment I met her, I was immediately impressed. She brought beautiful samples to our first meeting, and I knew we saw eye to eye on the vision of the wedding. Throughout the planning process, she was so easy and fun to work with. We would both get creative, and come up with ideas, it was a very collaborative process. We met multiple times, and she took the time to visit me at my venue. I also like that she took my budget, and was able to give me bountiful options with the budget we had. She was very respectful of that. Everything turned out beautifully for the wedding. We had 2 sites to decorate with flowers, and transfer from the ceremony to reception. She did it flawlessly! I so appreciate everything she did to make my vision come to life. Thank you Katie!
Katie did an amazing job with all of our wedding flowers! Her prices are very reasonable and she was very sweet and understanding when there were delays with our wedding due to a serious illness I was going through. She also ensured a smooth delivery of our florals to our venue at the San Diego Safari Park, which was no easy feat as there were 2 locations spread far apart. She came up with different ideas to help keep everything within our budget, like repurposing flowers for different locations. She also came up with helpful suggestions for flowers to match our color schemes (especially since I don't know much about flowers). Katie did an AMAZING job on our wedding florals. I received so many compliments on the flowers. I went into our consultation with just a color palette in mind and she was so helpful to help me pin point flower types, styles, etc. She was also super flexible in adjusting what I needed based on final headcount and adding more flowers and/or removing flowers closer to the date. My now husband found Katie in yelp and we decided to stop by and check her out. At first the small stand alone store had be a little concerned but after meeting Katie and discussing our ideas I felt great! She understood exactly what it was I was looking for and didn't try to change my mind like a lot of other florists did. She even explained that the flowers I wanted (star fighter lilies) can stain due to their bright colored pollen bulbs and she would try to remove them as best as she could. She also worked with my husband in designing the flowers for the guys. Her pricing was insanely reasonable and even though she had a couple weddings for the weekend we needed she agreed to do our flowers since we had such a small amount of flowers. The day of the wedding my father was supposed to meet Katie to pick up our flowers but timing couldn't work due to a meeting she had with another client. Katie drove from her shop up to my hotel (Rancho Bernardo Inn) and personally delivered her flowers to me. They were absolutely gorgeous. She went above and beyond what we could have imagined and we are very grateful for her. If I'm ever in need of flowers I know where to go. She has our highest recommendation. read more

I LOVED working with Katie. She was so easy to work with and was very knowledgable about her flowers. Katie has a gift where I bring her Pinterest photos and some vague ideas and she can transform my ideas into reality. Her flower arrangements are so gorgeous! Katie is very talented and a pleasure to work with. She did our wedding and we couldn't be happier. When we met with her for the initial consultation, she really listened to our ideas, likes & dislikes, and came up with fairly unique options for our centerpieces. It does take her some time (1-2 weeks) to get us our quote (so contact her early!), but after receiving it, we can understand why. She went to the venue to check out the ceremony space, researched the availability and price of various items, and created a proposal truly unique for our circumstances and respected our budget. Throughout the process, Katie was on top of things and generally made things worry-free for me, even when I asked for changes weeks before the date. On the day of, everything turned out beautiful. I don't plan on having a wedding again, but if I do, I know I'll be calling Katie for the flowers. read more

We were married at Falkner Winery 3/26/16 and Katie did the flowers for our wedding. While our budget was a bit limited for flowers you would never have known it looking at the how amazing the flowers turned out. Every aspect of the flowers for the wedding turned out spectacularly from my wife's bouquet to the table settings to the dessert table and cake. Our guests commented on how amazing all the flowers were. Her communication was also excellent and she really helped us select the flowers that would accentuate our colors and work within our budget. I definitely recommend Katie for weddings! She listened to my vision and tried best to incorporate my favorite flowers while being very budget conscious. Katie is incredibly affordable. She has great taste and really knows her flowers! Katie looked at my photos and helped design affordable, seasonal arrangements to my taste. She provided a detailed proposal with photos of the flowers and colors she planned to use. She also made great recommendations. I definitely felt confident in her abilities. The only disclaimer I make is that she was sometimes less responsive than I would have liked, but that was months before the wedding. In the few weeks the wedding, she communicated well and was able to guarantee what flowers were available. read more

Katie did an incredible job with my wedding flowers on 8/29/2015. She took on my request pretty late in the process and delivered gorgeous arrangements. I added examples of my very specific taste to her pinterest board and she was responsive to email. We had a call a few weeks before and she identified the flowers I liked, was knowledgeable as to what was in season and gave me a few fabulous suggestions. Katie is a small business owner and runs her shop like one. No, you're not going to get 24/7 customer service, but you will get personable service and human flexibility from her - which is critical during wedding planning. Absolutely LOVED working with Katie! She was incredibly patient and detail-oriented. Her primary goal is to have your floral vision come to life. We had several fun phone conversations exchanging Pinterest ideas. Katie designed my bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, floral arch, petals down the aisle, cake topper and toss bouquet for my wedding in November 2017. My Husband and I are so happy we chose Katie as our florist! I did a lot of comparison shopping, looking at reviews and price and Katie was the obvious choice. After meeting her we were even happier. I don't know much about flowers so my requests were very vague but she did a great job of translating my vision, and it was even better than I could have pictured. I really wanted to limit the centerpiece cost and she was the only florist who was very supportive of our budget and excited to put something together that would make the most of it. The centerpieces looked very complete once combined with the vases, candles, and mirrors that Katie provided. Katie went to the venue multiple times on the day of the wedding and even prior to the wedding to make sure everything would go smoothly. We were very impressed to hear from our venue coordinator that Katie had been in contact with her asking multiple questions leading up to the day. We highly recommend Petals by Katie! read more

Katie was absolutely amazing to work with!!!! My husband and I both live in NYC and had to work with all of our wedding vendors through emails and phone calls for the most part. Katie was super responsive and understood our vision. She's flexible and is willing to work with your budget to get as close to your desired look as possible.
