I went to Petaluma Auto Body after seeing the great reviews here. And I'm really glad I chose to take my car there. My daughter got in a minor accident and dented the liftgate on our Honda CR-V. Brian gave me the estimate and added, "That's if I have to get a new liftgate. But if I can find a used liftgate in good condition, that'll cut the price in half." I said, "Do you think you'll be able to find one?" "I can't say for sure, but I usually have pretty good luck," he said. A couple hours later, Brian called saying he found a used liftgate, same color, in good condition. He did the work and it turned out great. I can't recommend Petaluma Auto Body enough! My car had a huge scratch on the drivers side door from a minor accident. I wasn't sure how/if it would ever be able to look the same as when I bought it because it's quite a unique color. A deer ran in front of my car, banging up my front bumper which looked awful, but it was strictly cosmetic damage. It wasn't until I started visiting body shops and getting quotes that I discovered hitting a deer is an "Act of God" which insurance companies will pay for and supposedly not ding your record. Nevertheless, my deductible was pretty high, so this was something that I researched parts pricing for online. After visiting 5 local auto body shops, I chose Petaluma Auto Body because their service technician Jeff, was upbeat, responsive and offered an honest, reasonable rate for putting a new bumper, grille and emblem on. Jeff was very easy to speak with and work with. His optimism can do attitude was a breath of fresh air and...the results of his work were excellent! Brian and the entire crew at PAB keep the customer first. In a word, the work was superb, all the way around! I've used them twice in the last year. Once for front bumper and left front quarter panel after hitting a deer. Good as new, perfect color matching. The second time was the rear bumper, not covered by insurance. Late one night, my lady was leaving her studio and a pole appeared out of nowhere in the parking lot and hit her car. Even though the pole didn't have insurance, we had to do the right thing and fix our car. Lucky we live in Petaluma and there is a shop called Petaluma Auto Body in that town. To start, Petaluma Auto Body works directly (I mean electronically directly not fax machine directly) with USAA - the best insurance company on the planet. So getting the process going and estimate was super fast and so was funding the repair. Brian our "guy" at the shop was amazing and took really good care of keeping us informed during the whole cycle. And his estimate was spot on too. When we got the call that our car was done we stopped by and it was waiting for us all clean and sparkly. The car was fully restored to the pre-pole state and it was detailed to boot! We were in and out in no time and were able to be on time our therapist appointment to work on our newly discovered fear of parking lot poles. I first went to PAB back in 2003 after someone keyed the side of my 2001 GMC Sierra. Their estimate was very reasonable, unlike other shops that gave me estimates 50%-75% more. Fast forward to 17 years to 2020 and I still have my truck and the paint still looks awesome. I've had other vehicles worked on over the years at PAB and each one came out better than new. This is a top-notch auto body shop -- and they're super honest and fair. I took my car to PAB to have them fix a busted rear running light and a rear side panel that popped out slightly when I backed into a low cement wall. Since it was a small problem I didn't want to use my insurance for the repair bill. They quoted me a very fair price (in writing), and I agreed to it. They ordered the light and it came in after just a couple of days. I took my car in to have the work done and just an hour later they called me to tell me it was finished. Here's the kicker: They charged me NEARLY $100 LESS THAN THE QUOTED AMOUNT!! Turns out they didn't need to fully remove the bumper to get the panel back in, so they lowered my cost. Wow, where do you get that kind of honest service these days??!! And my car looks great. If you need auto body work, go here FIRST. read more

It took me a while to write this review, but I felt the need to give a review to help others avoid the same mistake. Do not go to this body shop if the work they did on my car is any indication of their true ability. Back in October 2021 I hit a deer that did some minor damage to my 2000 4Runner bumper. I decided to bring it to Petaluma auto body to have it fixed out of pocket. I also decided to have an unrelated dent in the driver side radiator core support fixed at the same time, given they were working on this general area. Initially, I think the quote was around 5800-6000, but it was changed to $6865.60 because they had to cut the radiator support and inner fender out of a wrecked 4Runner. I know, it was stupid to pay this much, but I was getting help from my relatives as this was the only car I could afford, and I had just had the engine head repaired. I agreed and they began work. Around two weeks later they said they were done, and I was excited to pick up my car. I was extremely disappointed in their quality of work, and based on their eyes and tone of voice, I think they knew I was disappointed too. The radiator core support is not anywhere close to the original color. It looks closer to the toyota color code "millennium silver" than the color "desert dune metallic". The fender on the passenger side isn't lined up with the bumper, it appears to be pushed more inward than the driver side. The hood doesn't line up with the front fenders. The headlight bracket that holds the light in place had broken off an arm that holds the bracket to the grille, and they glued it in place instead of replacing it, maybe to save me money? I'm not sure. The pieces of metal below the headlights aren't level with the lights, and I had initially thought they would paint these because they only had the black primer on them (I replaced them myself earlier). I was told I would've had to ask them to paint, so I guess this is on me. Good thing they didn't though, because it would not have matched anyways. I expected better for nearly $7,000. I was excited to pick up my car, because I really do like the way it drives, and I was excited for the nearly brand new look of the front end. I was very disappointed and unhappy with what I actually received. The fit of the radiator core support is good, which I guess, realistically, is the most important repair. Other than that, it's not great. If you're looking for good auto body repair, don't go here. The pictures in other reviews must have been with a different repair person, or they just took me for a ride because I paid out of pocket. Go to farmer brothers in Ukiah instead, they did a much better job on my Subaru with a similar repair. Sorry if this is too long, I'm just really upset about the repair. read more

When someone hit my wife's Traverse while driving through a parking lot, they lived up to their reputation. Our Traverse had to be towed in due to the damage. Just my luck! On New Year's Eve, I hit a huge deer late that night.. I've never been through that experience. I was very upset not for my car but that I hit a large animal like that. They were on my insurance company's approved list and provided the lowest estimate of three companies. The scheduling was easy and they finished almost two days earlier than estimated.
