I have never had a problem with this Petco until I came to get some snails for my fish tank a couple days ago. Upon deciding which snails I wanted, I asked the young girl named Crystal to get me 2 and asked to make sure that they are not dead since I have received an empty shell one time. She didn't have the correct paper so she wrote everything down on a napkin. It took her 30 minutes to get 2 snails because she kept on texting on her phone. I paid for the snails and when I got to the car, I noticed one of them was dead so I came back to ask for another one. She took my bag, while still texting, looked at it, and said "I'm going on my break" and just walked right out the door. I stood there super confused until another girl came and helped me out. I came here to do a return. The process was simply, the clerk was friendly and she even has a beautiful split faced babyyy (Chance? Chase? I cant remember but it was something with a C, goooorgeous) It is always nice meeting people who have the same passions as you and chit chat during a transaction. I've shopped here many times in the past but this trip is what made me finally review. This store is small in comparison to other PetCo locations but they do have a decent selection of just about everything, including XL - XXL dog clothes ;) Its always very clean & they offer grooming services. And i believe ive also seen a shot clinic here, sometimes on the weekends. Its always nice to walk around, check out the fish & reptiles and see whats new. As long as my dogs have needs (which they always will) i will continue to shop here. read more

Terrible service! This kid takes my items out of the shopping cart to scan, and since I didn't need a bag he just stood there while I had to put everything back into the shopping cart. I took my puppy in this morning for his second grooming ever because this location was highly rated and so close to my house, over 4 hours later I get the call to come pick him up. As I'm approaching the door, I hear him crying and was given the bill to go pay before I even got to see him. I paid and left a $15 dollar tip then when I saw him, I was in complete shock. If it wasn't for his personality and him running up to me, I wouldn't have even thought that this was my dog. I was absolutely shocked and cried. They shaved his entire face and paws. Can you imagine the trauma my baby went through!? I did not authorize them to shave any part of his body. I picked out the length that I wanted his fur to be and got nothing close to it. I'm beyond disappointed and will never ever take my dog here ever again. Not only will I never take him to these groomers, I will never shop there again. This place is 5 mins from my house, but I'd rather drive an hour than give a dollar of my money to this location. read more

I have now been to this location 2 times just because they were the only location that had available appointments on short notice and due to my work schedule that's all I can do. The first time they cut my dogs nails to short and made them bleed, I have had my dog 5 years and this is the first place to ever do this, they said sorry and that's all. I mean you should probably explain yourself and possibly offer a discount. I decided to give them a second chance since I found a coupon.... this time they did not cut them to short, really it looks like they barely cut them at all. Then after almost 3 hours no phone call so I showed up and still not done. I came in Monday morning March 14, 2022 as a walk-in. I walked up to the door at 8:52 AM and they were not open but a very nice young man open the door and let me in and my Chihuahua in the door. He asked me if it was for grooming and I said yes. I was unable to book an online appointment in my account just for a nail trim for my 9 pound Chihuahua. Being that the young man let us inside the store eight minutes before they opened I went directly to grooming. It was occupied and the lady that did the check in was kind but then Karen came out of the back questioning me and how I got inside the store. I'll let her know that I was lit and I just wanted to get my dogs nails cut because we are a regular customer there and have been for Petco for more than five years. Karen was rude and I did my best and let her know that if she wanted me to go wait outside for another six minutes until the store open that would be fine. She said the register is not open you cannot pay for your dogs nail trim. I suggested by the time we got checked in and they gave me the receipt and took my Chihuahua inside they would be open in the next six or seven minutes and then I could pay for my dogs nail trim which was going to cost $12 I suggested to Karen that I would just go in the store and pick up a couple of dog food or treat items in the next six minutes and by the time my Chihuahua would have his nails done and then I could check out and pay being that I was already inside the facility. Karen said that was not possible I could not be in the store. My Chihuahua was escorted inside the back for his nail trim and I asked the very nice lady who Karen was and what was her responsibility at the store. She informed me that Karen was the owner of the grooming facility at Petco in the Winco shopping center. I'm sorry that I didn't have a rainbow shirt on and was not a female but I was treated rudely by Karen the owner. I don't think anybody should be treated like that. She could've said welcome to our room facility will be open in five minutes if you will wait right there we will take care of you. Karen Can just go suck it. My Chihuahua nacho was terrorized and I watched them try to complete cutting his nails and it was horrible. I will never go in as a walk-in and it's just so horrible I don't even know what to say. The owner of the Petco grooming salon next to Winco really needs to learn about soft skills and talking to people because I would've been more than happy to go outside for six minutes rather be talked to like I should not have been there at all. I could've went from zero to bitch in one second but I didn't and I was kind and I wish that Karen would learn some soft skills. Huge shout out for Whitney (Grooming Salon Manager) who did the best grooming job for our baby that we have ever had. We found our groomer. Just like your hairdresser....when you find 'em.....don't lose 'em. This review is short and sweet. Top notch job on our poodle. She has never looked better AND only cost 46 bucks before tip. Repeat.....only 46 bucks for the full treatment. This is the first time we have ever had our baby groomed without me taking her back for something to be fixed. FYI......take cash for the tip. The system they use does not allow extra to be added with a card. The only thing you can do is buy them a Petco gift card which limits them on what they can buy obviously. read more

To start off I am taking off one store for petco simply being Waaaay overpriced. Aside from that, I took my new dog Captain to get groomed there for the first time. It was his first time being groomed in his whole 3 years of life and I'm sure he was scared but surprisingly, they were able to groom him! They couldn't do everything as thoroughly as they normally do because Captain was so fearful he wouldn't let them do certain things. Took my dog in for training. And apparently trainer refuses to train our 11 month old dog. Petco Elverta doesn't have enough utilities to train dogs, they have small space to train dogs. Wasted my time coming two sundays only to find out trainer does not want to train our dog. I think they should remove adult+ dogs training if your trainers can't handle them. Priscilla Morrison is the only pet groomer I will trust with my labradoodle. My puppy had never been groomed before and gets very excited around people and other dogs, but somehow she still did an amazing job grooming him!! He looked amazing. She trimmed all the parts short that are hard for me to comb out to prevent future mats. His cut was not girly but handsome. He gets compliments everywhere we go. He also smelled and felt amazing. He was so soft that I couldn't stop petting him for days! And he has never smelled better...even his ears which can get stinky!! Priscilla is professional in styling and precision. I recently moved back to the Antelope area and was very pleased to discover that this Petco had opened. Although the store appears a bit smaller than some of the others, the selection is excellent and the interior is truly the nicest of all of the pet stores I have been to. The layout is fantastic, clean, and updated. The staff is very friendly and the store is never overly crowded. My Mom also claims that they price match other stores ads - I haven't tried this yet, but I can imagine this would be useful for people who usually get their dog food at cheaper stores like Walmart. Overall, I really like this store so far (after being there about 4-5 times) and I would highly recommend it. The Antelope area can be pretty rough for new businesses so I am really hoping they make it. Although I haven't used their grooming service yet, I will be switching my dog's grooming over to this location and I will update my review when I do. read more

While I was in there , no one asked me if I needed help and only saw 2 workers their and they were not helping anyone . I know she is in trusted hands when i drop her off with Pricilla every month or so. Came by to return a hamster that turned out to be more aggressive then the others. The manager or co-manager insisted that I cannot return pets to a different . I called the customer helpline which informed me that as long as the pet is not sick I can return him to any of their stores. I ended up driving the other part of town to return the hamster which the manager of that location also confirmed that I could have returned him at any of the stores. So we come to Petco to have our dog groomed by Sarah. I had a Pals reward for $45 and thought I would give them a try. We scheduled an appointment a week in advance and the day that we arrived, we were told that they were short handed. I get that. 1. We dropped off by appointment time and did not get our dog back until 5 + hours. When I called after 4 hours they still had to do the haircut. I was told that there were many walk Ins which caused the delay along with being short staffed. I thought appointments had priority. 2. When I arrived, they said that they couldn't do the feet as dog apparently wouldn't allow it. I've had my dog's feet done previously at other groomers with no issues. My dog came back itching everywhere and was cowering quite a bit. Hmmm.. 3. The tail of my dog underneath was heavily matted and obviously had not been combed through. I spent a half hour combing and clipping the mats out. 4. I noticed that on his chest, he was quite bald and unevenly clipped. I felt as if my dog was rushed through once they finally got to him. I don't think I will be bringing him back to this grooming facility. Signed...disappointed... read more

Great store with pets that you can buy. But I would avoid this Petco due to the employees lack of humor and customer satisfaction. My little cousin said something "funny" to an employee and she gave us a salty look. I tried to cover it up with something funny and she continued to bitterly stare at us and then proceeded to say "don't tap on the glass." Then walked away leaving me with a completely negative attraction to Petco in general. I wouldn't want someone working like that for me personally. But I know everyone had their days. I was further recording a turtle to put in my Snapchat story and an employee walked by and sounded like he was done with life and said "you can't record here. Private property" he said, waving his fingers around in a "un mannered" way. Then proceed to walk away the instant he finished pouring pounds of rules on all of us. I've never seen customer service so negative and salty here that I wanted to leave a bad review so badly to warn other people. The costumer service in the fish department is horrid at this petco. I was standing waiting for a half an hour for anyone one of the workers to come over and ask if I needed help. I didn't want to interupt any work they were doing, but there is a point wen I could tell that they were talking to a friend that had come into the store and were ignoring my presence. If you have an hour to waste waiting around for petco's workers to get off there lazy butts to come help you, then I would fully suggest you visit this location. I was so excited when this petco opened and it has been nothing but a complete disappointment. So many issues but main problems are inattentive staff, very poor ordering there is constantly holes on the shelves. The worst problem is the lack of shopping carts ever, now they will tell you that the homeless steal them, but if any associates actually ever retrieved the carts from the lot the homeless wouldn't have the opportunity. Another issue with the cart situation is that if the store has 4 carts, you can bet at least two of them will be in the store full of go backs. It's really a shame the level of apathy the employees have shown. I have no opinion on the grooming portion of this petco because I have never used its services. I have twice contacted Michael Russo (I believe is his name) who is a regional supervisor he isn't really interested in the issues and instead just directed me back to the store manager who all this is happening under. Another issue I find is commonly two or three associates will be grouped together talking or trying to problem solve an issue, while 3-4 people wait in line and not one associate acknowledges them.
