The information to the worst Petco on earth!

This store is the WORST, point blank. I went there today for the doggie taste test of Justfoodfordogs food at 2-4pm and the table was set up for a few different flavors and types. So I waited around with my franchie to have her try some and after asking a few workers and one I had an argument with finally the "manager" came out about 2:20pm and opened one package of turkey food after I had to address her to see if she was the person running the table. Then she just walked off without a word and left me standing there wondering if she was opening something else or giving me ideas on how to serve it with other products. But NO she walked off and once I found her I again had to address her and ask her was she going to open anything else so my dog can try it since I was the only one who showed up to this bogus taste test and she replied no. So I told her this was a waste of time and I walked off after standing there like a good 40 minutes thinking she was going to open something else and offer some helpful information to feeding my pup. This place really sucks because everyone there seems as if they don't like their job.

All the necessary solutions that was recommended to me.

bad grooming service. They don't explain their rules and just making appointments. Don't recommend that grooming service in Brighton.

I…read morewanted to leave a review purely based on my initial conversations and meeting Lance for our consultation. I adopted a puppy last Saturday who is extremely fearful of everything - seriously, every person, every sound, every little thing. I cannot take her outside without her shutting down and cowering in a corner within 30 second of stepping out my door. I reached out to Compatible Canine and received a message back from Lance within two days who let me know they always start with a consultation. I called the number provided to me and was able to schedule a consult a few days later (he wanted to wait until she had a full week to settle in before meeting her). A few days before my scheduled consultation, I reached back out explaining that my puppy is so fearful (and I don't drive) that it would be really difficult to get her to walk to Compatible Canine. I asked if there was any chance someone could come out to meet her at my place/somewhere nearby outdoors. Lance was able to accommodate and spent an hour yesterday observing my puppy's behavior and providing me with tips. In the first hour I spoke with Lance, I learned SO much. Last night was the first time I was able to sleep with my puppy in the living room with barely any whining and no barking (previously her separation anxiety required me to move her crate into my room each night). Again, we haven't taken a class with Lance yet, but I'm already grateful. We will be enrolling in 2 day classes a week.

There is no better way to describe Lance and his two other trainers as miracle workers. I have a…read more1.5-year-old cattle dog/husky mix who is extremely fear reactive. It was impossible to walk by other dogs without a huge scene or even people without him growling. Baths and nail cutting were out of the question as the local groomer told me to never bring him back, and when I attempted, he would become aggressive towards me. I have always believed in Kevin and thus have been to A LOT of trainers in search of helping him reach his full potential of being a great dog. Away from his fears, Kevin is the sweetest dog. The number of people who told me he was "incurable" and that I would have to simply manage with what I have the rest of my life left me deflated and hopeless. Then I stopped to chat with a woman who was walking her German Shepherd one day and she told me I had to go see Lance. A week later I was sold. Lance has been a blessing. He has achieved more with Kevin in a matter of months than others said Kevin could accomplish in his entire life. While Kevin still has some work to be done, he now can walk by dogs without a scene, LOVES pets from people and even just this week had his first bath and nail cutting without any issues. Kevin's sister is another shining example of Lance's work. She was returned to the rescue by a family who said she was heavily resource-guarding and acting aggressively. My mom adopted her but was worried she was too much to handle. Since working with Lance, Luna is a new dog and easily the best dog my mom has ever owned. It is not just Lance's abilities to train dogs that are so incredible, he is also there for the owners. He understands and allows us to speak our minds and even vent with frustration about the different obstacles we have faced during the training process. He is ALWAYS available to the owners and truly loves what he does and the dogs he works with. I really cannot say enough great things about Lance and his team. If you are struggling with your dog, Lance is the answer. I rarely write reviews but this one was necessary because I empathize with the difficulty of finding great trainers--Lance is beyond great.

It starts with puppy play time, where…read morethe pups don't just play, but are under his supervision so you can learn about good play patterns, and the dogs can teach each other their styles without the owners interfering. After that comes lots of important lessons and demonstrations, with Gordon teaching you all the basics of how to get your pup well socialized, and the psychology behind the timing and methods of training to help you better understand and remember. It's a far more comprehensive puppy training class than I've had in the past, where we just covered the basics of sit/down/stay. This class will really prepare your pup to be a great new addition to your family!

I cannot recommend Zen Dog Training enough! We took the puppy class led by Gordon. It's truly…read moreamazing all of the content that he can fit into six sessions, and we loved that the five to ten minutes of "play time" at the beginning and end of the class gave our puppy a chance to meet other dogs and learn how to play nicely. (Side note: we always felt so safe during this time as Gordon is great at keeping an eye on pups and recognizing signs of play getting too rough). Our puppy, Puck, learned a variety of commands throughout his six weeks in the class: sit, down, stand, stay, his own name, leave it, "let's go" to get moving on walks, and "heel" to stay by our side on walks. He also learned many behavior corrections. Puck literally stopped play biting in 2 days after using Gordon's "out of the pack" technique (that alone made the class worth it to us), and Gordon's "leash step" tactic is already working on curbing his jumping on new people. Most importantly for us, WE learned so much as dog owners! Gordon taught us about puppy socialization, how to help our dog build confidence, which training tools we should have, and how to make sure we are recognizing and responding to any signs of him becoming a "fearful" dog. The experience with Gordon was truly invaluable and I think we would be lost as new puppy owners if we hadn't done this class. We were on the fence about paying for a puppy class and thought maybe we could find all of our resources on Google and using podcasts alone. Folks, I am here to say that you should not try to take dog training into your own hands. You truly get what you pay for -- this class is so worth it, and Gordon is a true professional. We have zero regrets about our decision to attend! One thing to keep in mind with this class (and probably any good puppy class) is that you do have to put in work outside of the class. Gordon really stressed this and made sure we all understood what our "homework" was for the week, and had access to training materials that we could review in between classes. I think if you are looking for a perfect solution where the trainer will train your dog for you, then this might not be the class for you -- but if you are looking to learn how to train your dog, and are invested in making sure you work in training sessions every day for the 6 week duration, then you truly couldn't find a better place than Zen Dog! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you Gordon for all of your work with Puck - we will miss the Tuesday class :) --Mary & Brandon

I found Vera through a 6 week puppy training class being held at a local doggie daycare facility. Having had a bad experience with a 'stern' trainer with my first bulldog, I was admittedly a little leery, but that feeling was immediately put at ease as soon as I met her. Though there were 5 other dogs in the class Vera not only taught us as a group, but spent time with everyone individually working on whatever specific needs our dog had. She really tuned into each owner and their interaction with their dog. I also liked that she gave the dogs time to socialize with one another, which was great for my dog as she didn't have much exposure to other dogs at the time. After the course was over, Stella had a great grasp of the basics, but we were having a few issues unrelated to basic obedience at home. We contacted Vera and she immediately worked with us to find a time that accommodated our hectic schedules. We did 3 in home training sessions, and saw a difference after the very first one. She makes you see stuff through their eyes and points out things that you would normally overlook that really help the dog to learn. She gives you all these little pointers and tricks that make all the difference. Every aspect of her training is completely positivity based, which is huge to me as I consider my dog a member of our family. I would highly recommend Vera to anyone who is looking for a trainer. She truly cares about the well being of your dog and it's very important position in your family.
