Do not book for grooming services here. I received my dog back today and was extremely unhappy with the outcome. My dog was booked for a regular Bath & Haircut appointment, it includes everything in the screenshot, total is $61. I also PAY for a monthly membership, bringing my total down to $48 for the grooming services. Upon check in and I gave them the details of what I wanted, how I wanted my dog cut and what I wanted done, "teddy bear" style. The groomer then asked if I wanted my dogs nails trimmed he specifically said "nails cut", I said yes as it's included in the bath and groom. See photo. When I picked up my dog, my dog was SHAVED down. I can see the color of her flesh on her top of her ears. The groomers were all gone and it was a regular store clerk who gave me dog and checked me out. I was so upset with how my dog looked and decided I would call the to file a complaint when I got home. Then they charged me $78 for the groom and EXTRA nail services that should've been included. I thought they said $48 and I didn't realize until I actually looked at my receipt when I got home. We immediately called to complain and spoken to the store manager who apparently was the person who checked out our dog and she didn't give us the grooming folder with notes, you receive after the service. When we actually spoke to her on the phone she showed no care whatsoever for me being upset with the services. She didn't even apologize or was sympathetic, just said that it's what was signed off for the dog. I have no issue paying for a service I receive, but not for being charged more for nail trim and being overcharged. I have taken previous dogs to Petco, every dog I've had. Never complained, but the disregard and disinterest of the store manager made me cancel my membership.

This Petco grooming is the most unprofessional and lazy I ever had to deal with They absolutely never ever finish the job on the dog, where you are paying for They cancel your appointment to go home early and makes the most ridiculous excuses There is NOT one time there I have took my dogs there and didn't have to make a complaint about it Because I didn't get the service I was paying for It's either that Or just cancel your appointment And you would think the manager at least could do their job and and not let things like this happens again But to be honest the manager is the problem She's being paid to do her job and she just can't I'm not one of those people who's having a bad day and woke up on the wrong foot and is mad with the world and is leaving a bad review out of anger I have been dealing with this for a yeah now and I'm done This place it's really a joke I USE Their VETS, I pay FOR THEIR PETS INSURANCE I BUY ALL MY DOGS BEDS, FOOD AT PETCO, TOYS, TREATS YOU NAME IT, BUT UNLESS THEIR PUT PEOPLE THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE AND CARE ABOUT THEIR PAYING COSTUMERS, ILL BE DONE WITH PETCO, BECAUSE I WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY AND I LIKE TO GIVE MY DOGS THE BEST OF EVERYTHING I HOPE SOMEONE AT PETCO CORPORATION SEE THIS AND DECIDE TO MAKE A CHANGE FOR THEIR PAYING COSTUMERS.

This place dose not take car of their reptiles, the iguana I seen looked extremely sick from the last time I saw him( which was a couple weeks ago) he has a black head and is obviously not getting the right light, there was another take with two chameleons one was dead and it looked like it had been sitting there for awhile, due to the cricket that had began to eat it I'll be sending these photos to corporate. This is unacceptable and I will no longer be purchasing products here. You really need to hire someone who cares about your animals more.

By the time we were done with our 3rd lesson we ran into Don and another customer in a public place and he used my dog to show as an example. More importantly, he got the other dog, who was extremely reactive to other dogs, to walk along with my dog within 10 minutes. The other owner was in disbelief and asked for permission to take a video of our dogs calmly walking together at The Fountains with tons of distractions. It's been a year and we just finished our 6th lesson only to correct some of the behavior that my dog does in the car, such as getting supper excited when driving to familiar places. I have had so many people compliment how calm and behaved my 2.5 year old Lab is (often act as a much more mature dog).

She was able to figure out a way to get through to them and help me learn how to manage two different personalities, ages (senior & an 8yr old) with one having limited abilities and the other running/jumping/hyper. Issue 1) walking them.. sadie the eight-year-old was very energetic and wanted to run or walk very fast. She tended to pull a lot. Sansa The senior, 12-year-old girl walked slowly and very close to me to where I would keep tripping over her so I needed her to learn space. Kristen admittedly said this was difficult to have two very differing dogs and one person walking both of them especially since I have physical limitations myself with struggling from fibromyalgia. She set up an appointment for us to go to A walking trail and worked with us on that, and additionally another issue Sadie was having. Issue 2) when I would take Sansa and Sadie for walks on the trails that were busy Sadie would often bark and spin in circles when a bike would ride past us. I wanted help with this behavior. Kristen was able to find a way to help subdue her reaction. Issue 3) One of the people we live with is very obnoxious and the dogs bark at him every time he enters the room. They don't do this with any other person. I asked her to come to my home to evaluate the situation. She nailed it right on the head what the problem was. She spoke with this person to give him insight into how his behavior was affecting the dogs. Her ability to get through to not only the dogs, but people as well is amazing! He actually heard her! He is a very difficult person to talk to so I was impressed! She also helped trained us to not reward them when they barked at him (which I didn't realize I was doing by letting them stay on the couch & petting them.) I thought I was calming them, but she pointed out it's rewarding what they're doing. So now I get them off the couch when they bark & treat them when they don't. This helped quite a bit. Not only is she knowledgeable but she is very upbeat and positive. She is very sweet and takes her time with you and the dogs. I highly recommend her and we would hire her again! Thanks Kristen you're the best!!

With only 2 sessions, Alycia has made so many drastic changes and corrections that we are absolutely convinced that she is today's Dog Whisperer! She is the most loving, kind, yet firm, professional dog trainer we could ever imagine and hope for. Our precious puppy has anxiety/separation anxiety and she tended to bark at people and other dogs (not out of aggression but) out of nervousness and excitement. She loves attention/affection but her first reaction was to bark, run around and be hyper. In minutes Alycia calmed Tiffany down and she really responded well to Alycia's commands. She taught us about boundaries and gave our puppy a boundary at the front door. Previously, Tiffany would want to run to the door and possibly run outside. After 2 tries, she mastered how to stay back even with he door wide open and with no leash on! Such an important safety lesson. Next session we went to our local pet store and also walked around outside of the strip mall. There was lots of activity, people, noises, cars, dogs, etc. I was so nervous, but to our astonishment, Tiffany did NOT bark once! Alycia taught her how to heel, make turns, and how to stay on the curb until we let her know it was ok to cross the street, We also had trouble with Tiffany pulling her leash in front of us while walking. Alycia literally taught her in a couple of minutes how to walk calmly beside us. The last lesson of the day was teaching Tiffany how to remain calm in the car. Previously, Tiffany would whimper, try and jump or walk around nervously even while being safe in her car restraint belt. I don't know how Alycia did it, but for the first time in 6 months, we had a quiet calm puppy, laying down calmly in the back seat by herself the whole ride home! One word....AMAZING! Keep in mind that all of these corrections were literally done in minutes! Our puppy has shown so much improvement and retains the information. She's becoming more confident, showing less signs of her normal anxiety and she's loving all the new things she's learning. We can't say enough about Aylcia and her style of training, loving nature and expertise! Thank you Alycia of Thinking Dogs! If anyone is looking for a dog trainer, please contact Alycia today. I promise it will be the most positive experience for you and your fur babies!

My poor experience is specifically with the adoption coordinator at Citrus Heights Petsmart,…read moreMichelle Lee. My family and I just lost our dog to cancer and we weren't looking to adopt another pet, but happened by the cat adoptions at Petsmart while shopping for our other dog's food. We fell in love with a 2month old Scottish Fold named Artemis. We saw her once, went home to think about it, and then returned the next day to see she was still there. We inquired with the volunteer there, who told us to text the adoption coordinator, Michelle Lee. Michelle was very short over text, but encouraged us to put in an application. So we did. We still couldn't stop thinking of Artemis the next day, and we were getting more excited about what a good fit she'd be in our home. So we returned to the Petsmart to visit her. We met her foster mother, chatted, and learned more about her. The Foster mother was so lovely. She told us that adopting Artemis out had been "hard because of Michelle" then hushed as if she would get in trouble for saying even that much. Other volunteers also exchanged knowing glances. Nancy then reviewed our application, said there weren't any other suitable candidates, and encouraged us to text Michelle to set up an appointment to adopt Artemis the next day. Nancy also assured us that because our application was in, and that it was the only one, that Artemis would be on hold for us. They pulled her paperwork for us. We had every reason to believe she was on hold for us. We texted Michelle who did not respond for over an hour. So we went home. When she did text me back, she asked us to "go back adopt her." So we started to go back and then she started calling me, frantically, texting for me to answer the phone. I answered for a brief interview, answered her questions seemingly to her satisfaction, and she again, suggested she was fine with us adopting her, but she needed to call the volunteers at Citrus Heights. Ultimately she texted me back and said they would wait for a vet evaluation since she'd been sick recently and then "let me know." At no point did she indicate that we were not approved to adopt Artemis or that she would be going back on her decision for us to adopt her. The next day I sent a text asking how the vet appointment went and was ignored for two days. I sent another text and Michelle told me then that they were still deciding on a family and completely denied that she told me she was ours and to go adopt her. I pushed back and sent screenshots of our conversation and she just maintained that "there is a lot of interest" in Artemis and other volunteers "have no idea" what they're talking about. Two of my partner's decided then to visit the shelter and speak with Francie, the office manager, who I'm told was absolutely wonderful and compassionate. Shoutout to her, for being so lovely and kind. She'd arranged to have my partner's speak to Michelle in person to find out what exactly had happened. When Michelle arrived to the shelter an hour and a half past her designated shift time, she was apparently unable to be accountable and made several excuses for her behavior, including that she was over stressed and grieving a personal loss. She denied making statements she had made over text to me even when confronted with screenshots. Ultimately we learned that Michelle lied to us and had adopted Artemis out to another family. There was nothing that Francie could do to make things right. I do not recommend adopting from this agency at Citrus Heights, while Michelle is the adoptions coordinator. Please go instead directly to the shelter or to one of the other Petsmart/Petco Locations. You will be met with grief, as well as confusing, disorganized, discompassionate, behavior.
