I had an appointment for the groomer yesterday at 3pm. I also had to take my aunt to two dr appointments. I rush these appointments to make sure that I can go from Raleigh to Cordova by 3pm. I made it to the location just to find out that the groomer had a family emergency. I asked the cashier why no one contacted his customers to reschedule his appointments. The app definitely will not let you forget your appointment. I was SO MAD. This was the second time in March that Petco wasted my time. IT WILL NOT BE A THIRD. Do not allow their groomer Timika near your pet! We only used them because our pet's regular groomer was unavailable. Our baby is groomed every 6 weeks. My daughter's and I are livid. Our baby looks terrible and had several cuts on him. He's a labradoodle and she shaved his tail! She lied to the GM and stated he was severely matted. The GM was very unconcerned and could care less about my baby being uncomfortable days later due to all of the nicks. Horrible and traumatizing experience! Hopefully, his tail and coat grows back properly! read more

I've only bought a handful of items here so this review is mainly about their grooming department. At first I was hesitant to take my dogs to a chain store grooming center because I heard awful stories about Petsmart grooming. BUT I've had nothing but great experiences here so far! My dogs are an absolute handful to groom, they are huskies, so they are notorious for being super loud, super energetic, shedding a ton and taking hours and elbow grease to groom. Timika has groomed both of them every time we come here and they always look amazing when I pick them up! The truly get a great blow out to help shed their undercoat and I will definitely continue to bring them here to get groomed! Timika is the best! read more

I just had a puppy training class and a bath from this location. For starters, the class was great and Tristan was amazing with my dog. She is patient and knowledgeable. I'll be going to more classes for sure. My pup also had a bath which was quick and he smelled fresh and was super happy when he left. I am sure I will back to this location often. read more

Yes, it's a big box store, but they always have what we need. This is the only place we take our dogs to get groomed, because everyone is so friendly. The dogs never come home traumatized. Also, we love the "Treat Bar" where you can mix and match the treats and buy them by weight. The Pet Perks program gives you gift certificates for the money you spend, so it's actually a helpful rewards program, too. We really like this store! read more

I honestly wish I could give this location 0 stars. I went to this location to get some flea collars along with some other things for the 2 cats I had just adopted. My phone was unfortunately dead (I usually just Google product reviews myself) so I asked a worker for help. I wish I could say he was even remotely helpful but all he could say was "I don't know" and "I guess this should work", obviously wanting to not answer any questions. So I picked up two flea collars and put them on my cats. And within a couple days they are throwing up EVERY 20 MINUTES and not eating or drinking ANYTHING. Several hundred dollars in vet bills later, I found out that the collars are TOXIC TO CATS. Thats when I hopped on Google and saw the TONS of negative reviews of people with cats that have either almost died or passed away or required amputations because of this product. I guess I just expected a pet store like petco to atleast somewhat vet their products before just throwing anything on the shelves. Not sell products that KILL CATS. My cats are family, and they almost died and are still in recovery. Needless to say, I am never shopping at petco again, and recommending to all my friends that they don't shop their either. read more

I recently moved to the Cordova area and have 2 Terriers so always needing pet supplies and food. I usually shop at PetSmart and Hollywood Feed but decided to check out this Petco after eating at Chilli's in the same shopping center. BIG MISTAKE! I had some questions about the Science Diet brand food for my 14 year old dog. My Vet recommended I try the Science Diet brand due to the lower protein quantity. I was in the store for approx. 20 mins and could not find any help. No employees to be found anywhere in the store. I also saw only 1 additional customer in the entire store. Usually when I am at PetSmart there are customers everywhere and most often 2 lanes open at the checkout, both with lines. Finally, I went to the checkout and asked for a Manager. This is where the problem began. Who would have thought a customer with a question would be such an problem, especially for a store Manager??? The Manager named Trisha Jasper came to the front of the store and abruptly asked "why did I call for a Manager?" When I explained the situation to her, she became VERY defensive and argumentative and eventually "scary" to the point of me putting down the bag of dog food and quickly leaving the store. After owning a pet for over 14 years and shopping exclusively at pet store chains in Nashville, Louisville, and now Memphis, I have NEVER encountered anyone more rude and unprofessional than this store Manager. It was for certain my last visit to a Petco Store ever, and I will be sharing my experience at this store with all my friends who own pets. read more
