I've been a Petco customer for nearly a decade and have always found Petco to be a reliable, go-to store for all of my pet needs with consistently good customer service. However, my recent experience with the grooming services at the Petco on Montana Avenue in El Paso truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, I was genuinely wowed by the level of care, attention, and one-on-one customer service my dogs received. The groomers were kind, patient, and clearly attentive to my pets' comfort, which made all the difference. You could really feel that they took pride in their work and cared deeply about the animals. I honestly wish I had known sooner how much the experience can vary between locations, because I would have gladly driven the extra 25 minutes to this Montana Avenue location instead of going to the Northeast location in the past. I've read the reviews about terrible service so I wanted to post about my excellent experience. Patricia (tall gal with salt n pepper long hair) was AMAZING! I foster doggies but I don't have a 5013(c). Budgeting is very important. She saw that I was price checking on Amazon so rather than lose me as a customer she helped me with price matching. She took time to discuss the products I was choosing for a pup that was very itchy and she knows her stuff. This is probably the best pet store I have seen in El Paso. There are so many unique animals here that I had not seen in other pet stores. They had the LARGEST parakeet I have ever seen in my life. Store has very unmotivated employees that only care to hang around the register and talk and laugh or do anything except assist customers or offer any assistance to customers. Even when they're cleaning the aquarium's. They put their blinders on and ignore you, even if you're looking at fish right over their shoulders, there's no assistance given! If you're just picking up stuff that you can get yourself, the prices are about the same as anywhere else. If you need something that requires assistance, like getting a fish. Go somewhere else. I love going shopping for my dog. Usually when I'm in a store that has a dog section I have to try and figure out from a small selection what toy will last the longest. 5 minutes or 15 minutes. I don't know who gets more excited to come here - me or him!!! My friends tell me all the time that they wish they were my pup because they'd be spoiled. Well, they're not wrong. I've been there twice and both times the staff was very nice. First time I was there, I was looking for a litter for my cat as I was recommended to use a special kind of litter after his declaw surgery. Because the vet didn't give me any information about the 'special litter', I was there walking around with no clue of what to buy. I asked the staff there and just bought one says 'clay-free walnut based litter'. But the vet told me today that the one I bought was a wrong kind. So I went back to petco today, returned the product and asked them what to get. The lady at the cashier was very knowledgable about cat products, she took me to the aisle and showed me the one I needed to buy. (Apparently it's recommended to use 'yesterday's news' from purina or anything paper-based!) Not only she helped me so much with finding the right kind, she helped me carry the litter to my car. I was very pleasant with the service. If you know you're gonna be shopping there a lot, I recommend you to get the paw membership. Cat owners please take your cats elsewhere. Agave pet grooming does cats, and they're cheaper too. The new cat groomer, who replaced Priscilla, has 15 years of experience grooming, but 0 years of customer service experience. I'm just glad his true personality was revealed before I decided to take my business elsewhere; I can only imagine the way he would interact with my cat. This use to be a good place to go but now I go there at 9:45am when they open at 9am and the fish lights are still off and they don't really seem to care. Now I go to the east side and Diego always has everything up and running at 9am when they open. Diego is very knowledgeable over there go see him. Went there again today looked at their nasty fish tanks for 10 minutes while manager and employee talked and talked at the counter oblivious to anyone. As I walked out t finally she asked if I needed help told her too late of y'all wasn't chatting it up you could have made a sale. Awful experience. We had a difficult time getting our kitty in the car and were 3 minutes late for our appointment. When we arrived they said the vet Had left because we missed their call 15 minutes earlier. We arrived during our scheduled appointment time and the vet wasn't here. Our kitty experienced the trauma of a car ride for the vet to leave early for her lunch break. Awful awful experience. read more

I am so happy they built this Petco near us! I have 3 mastiffs and just picked them up from being groomed. I had been taking them to Petsmart for a while but every time I took them I would get excuses that I could only take them at a "certain time" because of their size and they would charge me extra. The last time their I picked up my female and she was bleeding! Anywho, Petco did an awesome job at a GREAT price and I am so happy to make the change! We travel and do not live here, so we called to get our pups shots and was told yes no problem so we drove another 40 miles. When we arrived on Sunday at around 12:00 and was told no we can't see your dogs today please go to a different store at a later time. Very disappointing. read more

Awful customer service from Petco all around. On a Sunday day morning I was parked in their parking lot waiting for them to open when suddenly I felt my car shake. I got out and realized that one of their employees had hit my car with one of their carts. She was very relaxed about the whole situation and continued to do what she was doing blowing me off. I waited around for the store manager who told me there was nothing she or anyone could do being that it was a Sunday and most corporate offices would be closed and anyone would most likely attribute it to "the wind and a cart," her words. I then called customer service who seemed upset about the way I was treated and made a report. I followed up after not hearing back and there was no record of the report so I resubmitted one. I finally heard back from the district manager who said he submitted a report to claims and I should hear back in a week or call him. I've called him twice since then and have left a message with no call back. Essentially it's been over a month and no one at Petco has even attempted to remedy the situation and I have continued to support this buisness throughout it all because they have products that I like, but never again will I recommend this facility to anyone when there are better alternatives such as Petsmart, Pet read more

I really like this location! The staff is very nice and they always smile and say hello. There are just a few things that need work. Stop being on your cell phones on the floor. Especially when you're ringing up customers. The other day I went in and the employee was talking out loud while ring me up about how "the leadership has failed them, no morale". I'm normally not one to leave a bad review, but after the same behavior over and over I will. I usually wait no less than 30 minutes for a pick up. I go through the app first. Let them know when I'm on my way and parked. Once I hit that I'm parked I'll wait 15-20 minutes before calling. When I call I'm left ringing for around 5 minutes and usually they answer and immediately hang up, I can hear all the other people. I know they're picking it up. This last time I had to actually walk in the store because I waited 40 minutes and they kept hanging up on me. I walk in tell them how long I'd been waiting and I wanted my order. I promptly went back into my car because I have kids with me. The lady then came out and told me they had to still go get it and that's why they didn't bring it out. Negative, when I went in I saw it sitting right there in the cart by the door. So, instead of owning up and saying they messed up she blamed it on me. It's unacceptable.
