I've been coming here for over 3 years and always have fast and friendly service. But today I couldn't get either of the two. I would've settled for one actually. The lady who was stocking shelves while I was standing there waiting for service/acknowledgment, couldn't have cared less that I was there. I had to walk up to her and ask for assistance. Only to be rudely told "I'll be right with you" . No thanks! The manager was extremely nice when I called to tell him that shes lacking in the customer service skills department. He knew how to remedy the situation. There needs to be more of his friendly attitude and less of her rudeness. read more

So against my better judgement I went back to this store to get some of my cats pouch treats that I needed for today or I'd run out and it was getting close to closing and I didn't have time to drive to Petsmart so I got one box of pouches and 4 loose ones of a different flavor. They hadn't restocked my cats fav flavor yet. So I check out and I could not believe that this store was OUT of bags again. The checker Sabrina said no worries she had the reusable bag she gave me. Her name was Sabrina. I thanked her and told her about my previous experiences with a diff checker. I told her I would let corporate know that she took care of me so I get home and to my dismay, the four loose pouches that are ON my receipt we're not in the bag. She forgot to put them in the bag! I tried to call but it was 8:55 and the didn't answer the phone. So now I have to go back and get the pouches I paid for! I have never ever been to a store that was out of bags once, let alone two times in three trips. Sounds like a new Manager is in order there. read more

Best pet store in the high desert! Might not be as big as Petsmart or even other Petcos but their employees, make it all number one! Douglass who works the fish and reptiles, seriously is the best! Answered all my questions and acted like a friend. He was ACTUALLY HONEST! Instead of feeding me bullshit when he didnt know the answer he whipped out his shops tablet and we researched together. He showed websites where we can rescue an animal if they were unable to get it for us, which is also awesome. But every other pet store will head your head with wrong advice or even dangerous advice that can cost you the life of your pet, when given a question they dont really know. Thank you Douglass for being honest, researching with us, genuine and all in all, the best employee in the petstore chains in the high desert!! We bought 3 small fish from here last week, after treating them we put them in our big tank, and sadly they still carried some kind of disease. The fish we bought died and since they died we have lost over 6 of our long lifed angel fish and a few other smaller fish. Our fish are still currently dying and we are trying desperately to combat it. Plz if you care about your fish DO NOT PURCHASE FISH FROM HERE. Even if they look healthy they are diseased. read more

We have had a terrible experience with this store. It never seems like there are enough employees at checkout. The real issue We have though began with the purchase of a training course package with our miniature schnauzer. The trainer is incompetent in my opinion and our dog was almost mauled on the first day of the course by another attendees dog. This other customers animal was incredibly aggressive and snapped at our pet when put in proximity. The woman insisted her dog is "a nice animal and means no harm" as most idiots do on park trails with aggressive animals that snap at others pets or even humans and insult everyones intellect pretending their dog has no issues. After the course that day, the trainer (by the name of Jason) was asked by the owner of that hostile animal if he advised or not to go and take her dog to a dog park to socialize her animal more. The trainer lacked the fortitude to tell this idiot absolutely and undoubtedly NO because she has a viscous animal that snarls and attempts to attack mild mannered pets anywhere in its path or proximity as demonstrated in this very first training course. Right off the bat I lost confidence in Jasons judgment for not telling this woman to wake up to reality and wait to complete further training for her pet to avoid any possible circumstance where her dog might attack another persons dog in a public area as it attempted to do with our pet. The training in this first class was dismal and we gleaned no new knowledge of what we were already training our dog to do. Upon completing the second training session, an additional nasty mastiff type breed of dog was brought to the course and showed hostile tendencies towards our pet and other dogs in the course. The clear story here is that people seem to only bring ill natured pets to this course for training. We mistakenly brought our new puppy here hoping to gain new incites, tips, and tricks to raise our dog. We literally were so far ahead on training that this first level of course is a waste of money in our view with training techniques my girlfriend and I are already using with no new knowledge added by the trainer during each course. We had hoped maybe the second course would pick up the pace and add something new but that just sealed the deal for not getting a refund for any additional training even though we did not attend any further training. Due to these issues we did not show up to any further courses. I recently went to receive a prorated refund but the employees told us they are unable to do this. The receipt states a refund will only be issued up to beginning of the second session. We do not intend to go any further with the training we paid for because my girlfriend and I have serious concerns over Jasons lack of control of the training environment with ill tempered classmate animals and because we have not gained any knowledge from the training to date. Mostly because of our concerns about harm coming to our dog. We will never do business again with Petco because they failed to issue a refund. Clearly they do not stand behind their products including training to carry fourth with such a mindset. read more

Called and made an appt for my five month old shih tzu. Got there and was told they don't recommend grooming puppies because its traumatic for them which is bull because all dogs need to be conditioned for this. I was never told on the phone that they might not be able to groom my dog. Came from quite a distance. She called me out and said My puppy bit at the assistant and that I had to take him home. 2 grown groomers can't control a 9 pound dog?? Very inexperienced groomers. Went there for some fish food. In looking at the tanks I thought I would pick up a clown loach and 3 small catfish. I changed my mind after waiting 7 minutes when the only worker around (Ted ) would rather lean up against the display case waiting for customers to make up their mind about which fish they want than quickly net 4 fish for me which were all in the same tank . So far, every time I've been in here, the people have been very nice and friendly. This really makes a difference to me. I got a paper form of cat litter for my cat after she was spayed and she would not go near it, and the vet said she didn't need it, so I brought it in opened with my receipt and asked if I could get regular litter instead. They couldn't have been more helpful, and a young man even saw me with a heavy load and offered to put it in my car for me. How nice. I'll be going here when I need stuff. Their website also offers great deals and they have a Petco rewards card. You don't need to bring a card with you, you can enter your phone number at the register for your discounts. read more

I LOVE this Petco! It's not a huge pet store but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up and Customer Service and eagerness to please. The staff are very knowledgeable (from my experiences) and genuinely seem to like what they do; especially in the Fish Department. I also love that in the Fish Department, they will gladly order something that they normally don't care carry if you request it. Admittedly, I had my reservations before coming into this Petco based on the Petco that's in Victorville. Two completely different stores. read more

I went in today to purchase a fish for my pond with my nephew . Was waiting in the area for 15 minutes and didn't see 1 employee other then the 1 cashier in the front when I walked in . So I finally went to ask her for assistance. She walked past me and in a rush said "I can't help you but I'll call someone over there " immediately right after another customer asked her something in Spanish and she actually went and helped her out right after she just told me she couldn't . Already annoyed I went back to wait by the fish that I wanted . They called customer service about 5 times before someone finally came . Then when she did come another customer ran up to her cut us off and at that point I just left . Even walking out no employee said a word . No "thank you " or "have a nice day" I don't like writing bad reviews but I was really dissatisfied with my customer experience and I left without my fish I intentionally went for in the first place read more

We went there tonight at 7:00 to have are water checked for are daughters fish, and the pregnant girl test it and tells us we have a couple of issues with are water. That was fine she tells us that she was going to go and get someone who is more knowledgeable in water treatment a half our later still know one comes. They were several people over there waiting to be helped finally a lady has to walk up and get one of the guys at the front of the store holding down the counter to help her. Now keep in mind there are other customers looking for help and no ask anyone if they need help. We left to go to petsmart were you get better service. read more

Summer is by far the best groomer we have ever been to!! We have a small terrier named Paisley with very dry skin, dandruff and wiry hair. Shes also extremely timid and shy. But Summer had a very calming effect on our dog and took the time to make sure she was relaxed and comfortable before starting any grooming. She also recommend other treatments that would be great for our dogs dry skins. We would NEVER go to another groomer! read more

I took my 2 shihtzus today to get bath and haircuts. They're both healthy and I've taken them here about 4 times already. They call me 2 hours later saying one of my shihtzus has diahhrea and to come pick him up because they have him in the kennel. I'm on my way up the hill in a hurry, and I get a second call 30 mins later saying my other shihtzu's eyes are bulging out. I will never go here again! I'm handicapped so it's hard for me to go to big stores. I used to avoid Petco because I think their prices are high, however I've decided I now like them very much! Price is not everything. I love their selection, I love their sales and the sales staff is very helpful. Every time I come they offer to help me to my car and carry heavy items. They always have someone to answer my questions or help me find an item. The store is clean and the animals they have appear well cared for. They have a huge selection of heathy treats that won't upset my older dogs digestion (we don't feed real bones or rawhide). I can always find parking and a cart. I used to shop Petsmart in Victorville but have found their selection is poor and shelves are poorly stocked. It's also much harder to find a employee to help you there. today, a very nice blonde lady employee allowed my 7yr old grandson to help her with something in the store. He had so much fun I think he will remember it his whole life. You can't find that kind of employee very much these days ....I'm switching to Petco! read more

I took my dog in for grooming and was helped by Marley. She took my dog in and gave him an inspection to let me know how his coat was and what she would be able to do with it. I had a couple of specifications for his haircut (I wanted a Mohawk) and she was brilliant. She was kind and funny. She made me and my dog feel comfortable. When I picked him up, he looked amazing! His coat was so fluffy and soft! He looked so happy. We have been back to her since and every time, Murphy comes back looking like a rockstar. Marley is absolutely wonderful. We go to her every time and Murphy is always excited to see her. read more

Garbage. If I could negatively rate it, I would. Took my 2 year old Doberman to get his nails filed here (mind you we usually take him to our guy at pet smart) just because it's a little closer to the house. The girl who was in grooming was chilling behind the counter on her phone. When she finally pays attention to me standing there, we get my dog checked in. She's asking me all sorts of questions about how he is with getting his nails done... Well he's a dog and he's still considered a puppy so he's a little hyper but I told her I have never had an issue at pet smart so she should be absolutely fine. She took him back and as I walk to the bone section a lady who also worked there said to me "Doberman huh, that's the only breed I'm afraid of." Ok cool freak. I'm not going to sick my dog on you or even make you pet him. So I walk back, grab a antler, walk back up (total of 2 mins) Here the incompetent Google eyed groomer is standing out holding Axel saying that he absolutely won't let her cut his nails and that that he got loose and started running around. She also proceeds to tell me that they take the safety of their people very seriously. Ok you dummy... So what your really saying is that you were to afraid to cut his nails and you didn't want to hold him on the leash so you let my dog run around the store. I understand some people are afraid of big dogs and afraid of the Doberman name (which is completely ridiculous but I don't force my amazing dog on people) but all the chick had to do was say something. Instead she made my dog uncomfortable because she was uncomfortable. Place is a joke with ill trained employees. Drive a few more mins to pet smart! read more

All the employees are great and are always friendly, they always price match their online pricing. But the old blonde lady, (dog trainer) told me she was the manager and later found out she was the dog trainer. Had trouble exchanging a bag of dog food that my dog would not eat. Said she couldn't even do an even exchange without a receipt. She's dumb. Shout out to everyone else that works there. You are doing great and you are the reason we come back. After tonite they lost my business. Your return policy is why it's there. so that you the employee, follow the rules. Not make your own rules up along the way trying to be captain save a hoe. I like this Petco for buying food but not for grooming services. They appear to be understaffed and the customers have to suffer for that. I feel bad for the employees but I went in just to have my dog's nails clipped and it took 20 mins just for someone to come to the grooming counter. There was only one other employee in sight and he said he called them and "someone should be here in just a moment." Well I went back to him 3 times! I'm pretty patient but that was ridiculous. Someone finally came and she took my dog back right away then brought him back out with his nails exactly the same. She claimed that he wouldn't let her cut them shorter and asked if it was okay that she didn't. I said no try again please. My dog is extremely friendly and trained. He's a black lab and has been going to groomers for 4 years since he was 12 weeks old. The old Petco I used to take him to raved about how well mannered he was and how he let's them do anything without issue. I know dogs are like people and can have their off days but I've never had an issue with him and she tried to charge me for not cutting his nails. After she did them again they still weren't short enough. I definitely won't bring him for grooming services again. read more
