Beware of Petco and their price gouging. Two baths cost over $101

We were charged for a long haired med dog when she is a med short hair. Then petco charges a extra $5.99 per dog above the set grooming fee to pay for the materials like shampoo . We were quoted $36 and was charged at pickup $44. No clipping just brush bath n nails seriously. Beware of Petco and their price gouging. Two baths cost over $101

Both eyes all this bad

Took my dog for a haircut and bath , picked him up and his eyes were both completely bloodshot. Took him to the vet the next day, they said he had to be either strangled or restrained in order for it to be that bad I would not recommend this place at all. I am so upset.

Petco's website. Nowhere do I see testing for water as a requirement for a refund on fish.

If I could put a 0 star I would Trinidi should not be in customer service . I purchased fish from there 2 days ago, everything went great from my initial perspective. I bought 2 Albino Plecos & 5 Guppies. When I got home I noticed one of my plecos was acting odd (wouldn't move much kept burying into the substrate) the next morning when I woke up it was dead. So I drove to the Lakewood PetCo (which I'll never go to again) only to be told when I got there that I can't return my dead fish (I had the fish in a bag with the receipt on me) because I don't have a water sample for them to test. I thought ok never heard that before but I want a refund so I will do it. So I drove 15 minutes home, 15 minutes back to petCo have them test my water. A worker tell me it's fine, only to try and then have me buy "beneficial bacteria". I declined because to me it felt like a money grab. Why would I need to buy something if my water test came back fine. I got my refund & I left. I woke up the next day to find 2 more dead fish. Instead of going to PetCo first I went to AQUARIUM PARADISE. They tested my water & told me everything was great. They also stated had I put beneficial bacteria in my tank like the lady at PetCo had recommended it would have killed everything in my tank & actually set my tank backwards resetting my tanks cycle. So now that I knew my water was fine I drive over to PetCo knowing they would want to test my water (their made up store policy). I have the fish in a ziplock & my receipt (any other store this is all that is required, even on PetCo's website) I also had the water sample on me. Here's where they lost a customer & hopefully more so no one else has to go through what I had to. I walk up to Trinidi & I tell her my issue I purchased 7 fish here the other day. One died & I already got a refund on 1 the night prior. Can I get a refund on the 2 other ones that have now died. She then stated as I assumed she would that she could not do that without a water sample. To that I said I have a water sample but you guys just did a test the night prior and gave me a refund on a fish in that same tank I don't see why you'd have to do another water test. She said it's just their store policy and I can't get a refund until I go to the aquatic section and have them test my water. So then I pulled up PetCo's Website, and went to to their return policies on fish. I tried showing her but she didn't care to look and said she thought maybe the water testing policy was on the back of the receipt... the customer service was horrible. I told her no it's not on the back of the receipt tried to let her look at it. Tried to show her my phone with their companies policies. She didn't care she just continued on with trying to force me out of line and to go get my water tested. So I asked for a manager, this made Trinidis face light up red. She told me no! How are you going to to tell a paying customer no. So again I stated I want a manager finally a manager comes. The manager I couldn't get her name, came up and I stated that I didn't feel the need for them to test my water as I just got it tested at aquarium paradise & I told them I wasn't trying to be rude but I trust aquarium paradise more than I trust PetCo employees. My water was fine also again nowhere on their companies website do I see that I need my water tested. She again said it's just this stores policy. But to give me my refund, I guess I was causing to much trouble at this point. Rather than try to help the customer they just tried to defend Dans stupid policy. It's made up. Don't buy fish there, if they die trying to get a refund is a made up process the manager created himself. You guys work at a CHAIN COMPANY you don't get to made & inforce made up rules. Save yourself time & money & go to aquarium paradise if your local. Or even go to petsmart they at least don't question fish returns they just say ok & get the refund going. As one should for a paying customer at a chain company.

Lauren and the grooming team at Lakewood Petco: I've never seen a more dedicated team at a box store. I can't imagine how many dogs they groom, yet they know these dogs by name and treat them like family while in their care. I know my dogs miss you guys, and we do as well.

Our cat can have a bit of an attitude, what cat can't, but the staff at Paw Spa must be miracle workers because they groomed her no problem! She has gotten a "lion cut" both times and done very well. Both times the cut has been stellar with no missed spots. She came home smelling fresh with her claws trimmed. Was she a little mad at me? Sure. I chalk that up to being a cat in the 21st century. Paw Spa also passed the smell test. I have walked into so many animal centric shops that smell either like poop or industrial cleaner. This place smelled like shampoo and happy puppy. Or annoyed cat, as the case may be. As long as they are grooming cats, we won't be taking our little devil anywhere else!

Before, knowing that Bree was no longer working there and actually opened up her own groomers doggy spa I had scheduled to take my dogs as usual upon arrival, I was greeted by a lady named Amandaa come to find out. She is the owner. I was a little taken back because I was always greeted pleasantly by Bree. So I had asked is Bree in today and the first thing that I found unprofessional and rude because of the way it was said from this lady Amandaa she goes "oh Bree yeah she doesn't work here anymore and she opened up her new groomers right down the street without giving me notice. (In an unpleasant tone) I had got bad vibes from this lady because she was not warm or welcoming and she just seemed angry. With hesitation having a bad feeling of leaving my dogs there. She proceeded to be snobby as I was explaining to her about my dog's conditions with responses of I have been doing this 29 years. I know how to care for dogs and Saturdays are our busiest days she then grabbed my dog by the collar and immediately put him in a kennel which my dog has health issues and Bree is the only one who knows this and knows how to care for him so he was not used to that. Long story short I left feeling uneasy and not comfortable with doing so, but I had to turn around because my gut was not feeling right and I picked him back up and the first thing that came out of her mouth was really?? Well did you call Bree? And I politely said no I just don't have a good feeling and I would like my dogs back. For that reason since she has been doing it for years, I think she's quite over it with her attitude and I would not recommend bringing your dogs here. On a good note Bree opened up her own doggy groomers. About five minutes away. It is called DIVINE TIMING in LAKEWOOD. I brought my dog there today and he was so happy to see her and did very well even though he has seizures. He didn't have one seizure that should tell you a lot by How patient and caring she is towards animals. I would highly NOT recommend the Paw Spa and head over to DEVINE TIMING to see Bree .. tell her Selena and max sent you!

We took our 7-month-old Dachshund puppy, Chewy, to Soggy Doggy yesterday evening for a nail trim shortly before closing time, and unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting for both our puppy and us. During the nail trim, Chewy yelped multiple times in discomfort, which immediately concerned us. What stood out most to me was that the same nail appeared to be trimmed repeatedly several times, and each time Chewy reacted more anxiously and vocally. As a pet owner, I found it difficult to watch, and it left me feeling uncomfortable about the handling process. I understand that puppies can sometimes be nervous during grooming, and nail trims are not always easy. However, we have previously taken Chewy to other grooming establishments, including Petco and PetSmart, for nail trims and have never experienced this level of distress from him before. I was also surprised that during the nail trim, we were asked questions about Chewy's diet and food choices. While I understand businesses may offer additional services or products, I personally felt that the focus at that moment should have remained on carefully completing the nail trim and ensuring our puppy was comfortable and calm. At the end of the appointment, Chewy also left with a noticeable hangnail. We declined the nail buffing add-on service, but even so, I did not expect his nails to be left in that condition after the trim. Overall, this experience left us questioning the level of handling, training, and attention to pet comfort during grooming services. As pet owners, we trust groomers and staff with the safety and well-being of our animals, and unfortunately, this visit did not leave us feeling confident. Because of this experience, we will not be returning with Chewy in the future. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as gentle handling, professionalism, and pet comfort are extremely important, especially with young puppies who are still learning to trust grooming experiences.

I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

Based on my experience on July 8 and July 9, I cannot recommend this company to other pet owners. I scheduled grooming appointments for both of my dogs and the groomer arrived late. After the grooming was completed, my dogs were left locked in kennels for an additional hour after their service was completed instead of anyone calling to let me know they were ready. I only found out they had finished because I called the store to check on them. I gave very specific instructions for each dog's haircut, and none of those instructions were followed. The grooming did not resemble what I had requested for either dog. When I called to request a refund due to both the poor grooming and overall experience, I was transferred between multiple employees before finally speaking with the supervisor, Carol. From the moment she answered the phone, her tone was unprofessional and dismissive. She told me that I could receive a refund, but only if I returned to that specific store. I explained that I had traveled a significant distance to that location and would not be able to make another trip just to receive a refund. She responded that returning to the store was my only option if I wanted my money back. When I asked her to please refund the original payment method instead, she stated that she "didn't have time for this" and hung up on me. Later that day, I returned to the store to request my refund. Coincidentally, Carol was my cashier and I asked why she had hung up on me, and she claimed it was because I had been yelling. That simply isn't true. If PetSmart reviews its recorded phone calls, they will hear that I never raised my voice, used profanity, or behaved unprofessional in any way. The two employees I spoke with before being transferred to Carol can also confirm that. During our conversation in the store, I asked whether I could have received my refund at another PetSmart location. Carol responded, "Oh yeah, you can get it at any location." Had she not hung up on me earlier, that information would have saved me a long drive back to the original store. When I pointed that out, she simply shrugged her shoulders and motioned for me to move along while processing the refund. As she counted cash from the register, I asked if she could please refund the purchase to my original form of payment instead. She ignored my question entirely and continued counting the money without acknowledging me. Only after she finished did she look up and say that debit card purchases are refunded in cash because "it's on the receipt." The entire experience--from the late appointments, poor grooming, lack of communication, inaccurate information, and dismissive customer service--was unacceptable. I expected much better from a company this size that people trust with the care of their pets. Carol, do better you old hag.
