We used to take our 2 dogs here for grooming, but not any more. The prices were decent, but their appointments were too far out, the cuts on the dog's hair were very inconsistent each time we went, and our dogs seemed to be stuck in their kennel for half of a day. Today was the second time that they screwed up on my appt. I put my appt's in my phone as they are being made!!! They changed the appt because I wanted to bring both dogs and they had one dog scheduled on a different day. One lady admitted they they have had staffing issues which could have been part of the scheduling issue. The woman Serofina was not apologetic nor even tried to fix anything!!! NO MORE!!! Don't take your dog to this grooming place!!! First time they cut my dog's nail too short and she was limping for a week. I took her there again today (what a mistake!) and both of her ears were bleeding heavily (they cut them while grooming!!!) . Those people have no idea of what they are doing. Called with a question about fish tanks about 2 minutes ago. Before I could finish my sentence the employee said no one knew the answer, had a rude tone of voice, wouldn't let me speak. Every time I started to say a word I was hushed. She shouted at me to go call another store because she didn't know the answer. She seemed in a rush to get off the phone as if I wasn't worth her time or she was rushing to get to her break. It's fine if you don't know the answer, but at least let me ask my question first and don't be a jerk about it. I get that maybe she's having a bad day but don't yell at potential customers for it. I don't see how it's my fault you're upset? I called Petsmart afterwards and they were very helpful. read more

This review is for the grooming department. We specifically asked them to clean our female lab behinds, cut really short with the machine for medical reasons, and they refused to do it because they fidn't do custom grooming... We paid $25 and they did a very poor job by just giving her an almost unnoticeable haircut on her behinds with scissors, and both left and right side looks different. We called Petsmart in Dublin the next day and they did it for us right away. read more

About the Store: Great selection, end up here more than other places simply because I need things most other places don't carry. The staff is friendly and I would give this a higher rating if it weren't for a lack-luster dog training experience. About Dog Training: I had a young man as a trainer who was friendly, personable and did know what he was talking about. Unfortunately, the commitment and professionalism of it was lacking. I never received the last session I paid for (and passive aggressively waited to see if that would be remedied). A couple of the classes I learned nothing and worked on nothing. And in a couple of the classes I had been left standing feeling foolish while he had to cover for the store staff or when he had more pressing text messages coming through. As a person, I really liked the trainer he seems like a great guy. But as a trainer I felt I could have been better served elsewhere and would recommend others go elsewhere as well. read more

These folks will book your grooming appointment and lose it- only to leave you standing there with your dog to be sent away. This happened 3x to me( I know, right? Shame on ME). They apologize, offer a discount but don't solve the problem and offer another appointment 10 days out. They can blame their computer system but I blame management for lack of problem solving and customer service. When you take the day off around these appointments it bites. I am now going to their competitor. Too bad because they were nice folks. read more

This is a review specifically for a return experience today. I bought a light for the top of our fish tank a few days ago and it did not work. It obviously had been used and I figured someone bought a new one then returned their broken one to get $$. Do not let Christina near your dog!!! I have brought my dog here for grooming a few times and there is always some confusion over whether we want a "hair cut" or just trim pads and do teeth etc. I've never been asked about a hair cut when taking my dog to a professional groomer before. She is a border collie mix with longer fur that needs to be cut and thinned to avoid matting. I picked her up today after giving specific instructions on how she should be groomed--again--including areas that we typically leave a little longer etc. They shaved her entire body except her head and tail like a fancy show poodle! She looks ridiculous. When the employee brought her out and saw my face she admitted that she didn't think this is what we wanted. She called a manager and the manager refunded the price of the grooming and they told me that "in 6 months or so the hair will grow out". The manager and other staff member even said that if we had asked for this cut it still looked bad because it's all uneven. They had no idea what the person who did this was thinking. They were nice and apologetic and as shocked as I was by the job that was done but that doesn't help my poor dog. My 6 year old was in tears saying that she looked like a big, shaved Chiuhuahua. I cannot adequately express how disappointed I am. My dog is practically unrecognizable and the level to which this job was botched will take months to grow back. Only the grooming and salon and food selections are good. Most of the food, treats, toys are double or triple else where. Some treats I bought for 5.99 here are 3.99 at trader joes. Or a tire toy here is $21 but same brand is $9 at wal mart. read more

I was so excited when I learned Livermore was getting a Petco! No more driving to Dublin or Tracy to buy my cat food! They have an excellent selection (including carrying my cat's brand) and the customer service is usually excellent. Sometimes I cannot find someone when I need something but overall it is easy to navigate the store so I don't need much help. Also get the rewards card! So worth it! read more

Petco has once again mismanaged scheduling for my dog with zero effort on their part to make things right. I even went in person to make sure they got the information correct to schedule the appointment. Today, I show up 15 min before my appointment to renew some vaccine info, etc. The woman who scheduled the appointment for me three weeks ago is the same person who tells me the computer is not showing that my dog has an appointment today. Even after reminding her of this fact she replies by saying the computer sometimes erases appointments. She had to bring someone else to the counter to tell me that they are completely booked for the day through the next several weeks and they can not fit my dog to their schedule today. She tells me I can try to come in a few days later to see if they can squeeze my dog in. NO THANK YOU! I told them they had lost a client because this is not the first time they've mismanaged one of my appointments. It seemed like they're used to this response. If you have an issue with a scheduling program and you are aware of it, you don't keep using that method. You fix it or switch back to the good old pen and paper method. You're intentionally wasting people's time if you know your scheduling program is faulty. Grooming appointments take weeks to schedule and now I have to take my business elsewhere. This is specifically for the grooming department. We have taken our dog here numerous times. Every time they kept our dog for 5+ hours and it was apparent every time they had not taken the dog out to pee. We always had to call to check in and see when they were done. Never once did they call us to let us know they were done as they said they would. Today we took our dog in for a scheduled appointment to be greeted by a very rude employee who then went on to say they did not have our appointment in their calendar. This is a review for the grooming specifically. We recently took our long-haired puppy in and asked for a puppy cut leaving the hair about an inch long. Instead he was shaved all over with his face and ears trimmed rather unevenly. They were super nice people, the price was reasonable, and the appointment was convenient, but the results were disappointing. read more

I visited this petco just to browse and maybe see what kind of inverts they had and to see the rats, I have been wanting to get more rats, but I like to check out and see if they're healthy and stuff before I plan on getting them from anywhere. I was helped by a very nice employee named Zach he was very gentle with the rats and gave me helpful information about how old they were, how often they're handled, ect. While I was talking to Zach another employee butt in and condescendingly told me that we aren't supposed to hold them unless we are buying them that day, because they're skittish and will jump out of your hand. And she snapped at zach and said he's supposed to be wearing gloves. First of all, this was really annoying to be talked down to like this, I have a lot of experience caring for rats and it was rather annoying to be snapped at. Secondly, if these animals are going to be sold as pets, it's REALLY IMPORTANT that they should be handled, they're going to probably be pets for children and if they're never socialized then they could be very scared and bite children that want to hold them, and if you handle them, then they won't be skittish anymore, wow, problem solved!!!! Thirdly, I have honestly never seen a petco employee use gloves to hold the rodents in my life, I think that's just kind of ridiculous and she probably just wanted to sound like she knows more than him. She was extremely passive aggressive to me and my girlfriend and her coworker and it really ruined the visit, I most likely won't be returning to this petco, yikes! read more

Horrible customer service and untrained staff. I brought my dogs here last weekend to get them bathed and the other bathed and groomerd. First off when i got there i dropped off my dogs the lady helping me was getting trained which is no problem at all i asked them to call my work when they were ready and provided 2 numbers for them. I went over each dog to let them know what id like. Later that day my mother in law calls saying the girls are ready, no call from them, again fine doesnt bother me that much. When i got home my mother in law noticed that my dog lilly had not gotten her feathers on her feet done, no sanitary clip and they shaved her fur on her back! We are so upset because her fur is going to grow back now as a ruffer texture, they didnt even clip my dogs nails! We paid 107$ for my dogs to get a bath and my other dog topanga did get what i asked for besides her nails not being clipped. When we went back to have lilys feet fixed the lady was so rude saying "well i guess i have to fix it" and didnt even apologize or make us feel better that they charged up that much for a bath. Such bad service, im not planning on coming back ever. read more
