Receipt with names of their staff

This was the most sorry excuse for 'customer service' ive ever seen.. I've already posted my review with details and picture of receipt with address and names on Google for this location. To start your employee by the name of Natalia has zero business being in a customer facing position. She has a condescending attitude from start to finish, speaking and repeating things to me like i was a child. This person had no intention of doing her job and that was to actually give our dog a haircut. Our dog is less than 5 months old.. the most passive sweet little dog... under 10 pounds... that you will ever see. We had a appointment for noon on Sunday at the Kendall Petco location. With a very condescending attitude she tried to explain that the dog "may freak out" and that they would only be able to do a face feet and fanny as they call it... and oh yeah, this will take them 3 to 4 hours !!!! I was shocked... but thought this may actually be something this place does to get people out of the store.. and there's no place for people to sit and wait if they had to. There was exactly 1 other dog there getting service and by the time I left the store that dog was already out. 2 hours later, my wife called the store and they young lady (with a short attitude again) stated that all they had done was give the dog a bath... which we were not even there for. Let me say that again 2 Hours and all they did was give a dog under 10 pounds a bath!! My wife at that point was in fear for our dogs safety as this person was sounding like she was purposely mishandling us as customers. Another hour and a half later I get a call that the dog was ready for pick up. If you're following along 3.5 hours have passed now. I get there and another lady gives me my paper to go pay and "Natalia" the one that has been handling our dog says in a loud voice as if she was mocking us... that the dog only got face feet and fanny!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! My only reaction was to laugh because what else could I do?!! I go to pay at the front and ask the guy on register who the store manager was. The young man in a low voice said "the guy behind me" and pointed at a guy on the next register. I saw he was busy so I walked over and asked if he was the manager he said yes, i asked him for his business card and he said he doesn't have any... so I asked how do I reach him since I see he was busy... he said there's a number on the top of your receipt as if he wasn't giving me a way to communicate with him. I asked what his name was he said "Andres"... and i asked for his last name.. he said he doesn't give out his information.. so I asked again.. and you're the store manager ?? He said yes and I walked out. This guy was doing his best to wipe his hands and everything else to not use a stronger word, and not deal with any issue i may have had. No wonder his staff is also the same way. I already posted on Google, now here and will post in as many places as i can to show the public what kind of customer experience to expect here. I have spent a LOT of money at Petco. I can guarantee you will never see me or my family in there again and will now go out of my way to get the word out. You have a personelle problem from management down to your pet groomers. Good luck hiding that from the public.

Lies. Never asked how my dog was behaving, eating, etc. He never took vitals. He couldn't even get blood.
    Jessica S.

Update: We received the forms back from the vet last night. He lied all over them. He never asked us how our dog was eating, activity level, etc., but said in the form that everything was normal. He never took vitals either. The firm said we refused to allow him to restrain the dog or muzzle. We refused a muzzle. We never said that he couldn't restrain our other dog -- we told him to hold him another way so he wouldn't squirm. We also offered to help to make it go smoother. We never refused to pay -- he refused service and didn't revise our bill. So the vet is a liar on top of incompetent. RUN!! ------ We had the WORST experience ever here! We went for vaccinations and they didn't even have the right equipment to administer them (and told us to go shopping for it)! The "vet" couldn't find a vein on my first dog to draw blood, so he blew the whole thing off and gave him some vaccinations anyway. Then he refused to treat my other (extremely docile) dog because HE couldn't hold him the right way, and WE wouldn't let the dog be muzzled. (Our dog is a rescue and doesn't like the be held over his back, and needs to be held from underneath or he will squirm, never bite.) The vet tech was too scared to perform the basic functions of his job and took extra long for everything, creating a huge line. We also watched the vet fail to properly administer two other puppies' oral meds, and he gave the syringe to the poor owner to do it herself. And not so "low cost" either. It was going to be $317 for two dogs for basic vaccinations and six months of heart medicine (not even a rabies tag or license). Best of all, the store manager said that "he couldn't argue with the vet" -- even after he had heard how horrible the service was and the kind of treatment we were getting. So we left with one dog sort of vaccinated and none for the second. AND the clinic never completed our first dog's medical records, so we don't even know what shots he really got. You are better off going ANYWHERE to get your dog vaccinated! Run away!!!

My dog in training class, looking over at his mom
    Rebecca R.

This review is specifically about Petco's training program. The store itself is fine; it's exactly what you'd expect of a Petco. We're now 3 weeks into a 6 week program, and I am extremely pleased with Petco's dog training classes. The classes are small and affordable: max 3 dogs per class and around $100 for the six weeks. Dogs displaying aggression or who are unruly will be directed to private classes, so you don't have to worry about the safety of your dog during class. We adopted a new dog last summer, and he has had some mild behavioral issues: not consistently coming when called, tugging on his leash, getting too excited when we pass another dog. This class has helped us get him to follow several basic commands that will be useful in directing him toward productive behaviors. It's a controlled environment, so it's been much easier to train him here than at home. Once he learns the commands here, he follows them beautifully at home. The trainer, Janeth, is great. It was important to me to take my dog to a program that uses reward and praise rather than fear and punishment; Petco has surpassed my expectations in that regard. Janeth has showed us how to set my dog up for success so that he learns more easily and in a positive environment. If your dog could benefit from training, I highly recommend Petco's program. It's been a great experience for all of us.

They explained that the dogs play all day, have activities, are separated by temperament, and that puppies are carefully monitored. This gave me peace of mind since I had concerns about his joints, breaks, and being around larger dogs since he's just a baby. When I dropped him off, the man at the desk was also professional and explained that Murphy would receive a temperament assessment around lunchtime, and I'd get a call afterward with an update. He said I could either pick Murphy up then or leave him longer depending on how things went. Unfortunately, I never received a call or text. When I finished work and called them, the woman who answered was short and unenthusiastic -- she simply said, "Oh yeah, we have Murphy. He's in with the dogs, he's fine." Her tone left me uneasy. When I arrived, I found Murphy sitting off to the side in the large dog area, panting and looking unhappy. The dogs in the group were very large, and one was jumping excessively on top of other dogs (I'm talking like a kangaroo. 6ft in the air. The dog should be named jelly bean). Murphy, normally playful and confident, seemed timid and off. To make things worse, he was completely soaked -- his belly, legs, tail, everything. The floor of the play area was covered in large puddles of liquid, and while the staff member tried to tell me it was just "water from the hose," it was clearly urine. Once home, it was undeniable from the smell that he had been sitting and lying in urine (possibly mixed with feces). I was told dogs are only walked once a day and use a grass area outside. From what I saw, the indoor space has no toys or stimulation, and the floors are left wet with urine throughout the day. This means the dogs are essentially playing and laying in filth for hours. I left with Murphy timid, drenched in urine, and completely unlike his normal happy self. When I raised concerns, I was met with a dismissive response rather than care or reassurance. While I was in the lobby, I actually asked other people dropping off their dogs if they would recommend this place, since I was so concerned. To my surprise, they said they would. So perhaps some dogs are less sensitive to the environment, need less enrichment, or hygiene isn't as much of a concern to their owners. It's possible I caught the facility on a bad day. I am grateful this was a free trial because I would not have paid for such substandard care. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be bringing Murphy back. I sincerely hope the facility improves its sanitation, communication, and oversight, because the way the dogs are kept now is unacceptable. - I felt providing an update on this review is important for anyone considering bringing their pup to DogTown. After I picked Murphy up from daycare and wrote my initial review, he slept for hours and hours. When he finally woke up, he had developed a severe limp in his front leg. The limp worsened, and he ended up at the vet today. Thankfully, there are no broken bones, but the vet believes it's either a soft tissue injury or a hairline fracture. This almost certainly came from the rough play that's allowed at Dog Town, as Murphy had no issues prior and had just been cleared at the vet the week before during routine vaccines. My poor 5-month-old puppy is now on pain medication and sedation so we can keep him practically on bed rest while we hope his injury heals on its own. The vet also noticed a growth on his lip, which is canine papilloma virus. While I can't say with 100% certainty that it came from here, research shows it's commonly spread in dog daycare and boarding facilities, and the timing makes it very possible. With both of these things, I truly wish I could rate this place negative five stars.

On one stay, my dog was actually bitten by another dog. The only thing they offered was a 10% discount, which barely touched my $800 bill. It didn't feel like they took the situation seriously at all. 2. They also signed me up for their membership to give me some small perk, and when I tried canceling it a month later, it turned into a whole ordeal. I had to reach out multiple times just to get it taken care of, which was ridiculous. 3. And then recently, I booked a short stay on a Monday and wasn't told it was non-refundable. When I asked for a refund two days later, the owner wouldn't give it and only offered credit. I explained that I've already had several issues with them, but it didn't seem to matter. The lack of transparency was on their end, yet I was the one stuck with the loss. At this point, I honestly regret ever bringing my dogs here. The owners seem more interested in sticking to their policies than actually listening to customers or owning up to their mistakes.

When I arrived to pick him up, I was charged $120 with no prior warning. The explanation? His size, knots in his fur, and a keratin treatment I never requested or approved -- none of which were communicated to me beforehand so I could decide. The person in charge also justified the price by saying other places charge $170, so $120 was a deal. That may be true, but it doesn't make it okay to add charges without telling the customer first. When I calmly said this might be my last visit, the person in charge responded rudely, saying they were moving soon so it didn't matter. After 4 years of loyalty, that response said everything.
