I have always had wonderful experiences with the team at this location and specifically want to comment how Myra went above and beyond to help me at the register. My cell phone died because I forgot to charge it and wasn't able to access a coupon for the items I needed to purchase. She pulled out her phone and price matched so that I could still get a discount. She's always helpful and very friendly, which is something I really appreciate when I visit. I will never, never, never take my dogs to this groomer again. They not only injured both of my dogs, but hid the problem from me when I picked them up. It was only after getting them home and having them act extremely abnormally that I saw what had happened. They did reimburse me for the cost of the grooming and covered the nearly $500 vet bill, but they will never see another dime of my money again. read more

We recently bought a bag of dog food that didn't agree with our pups stomach less than a week ago. I called in and ended up speaking with Michelle, who told me to come on in and exchange the food. She was beyond helpful and probably one of the sweetest ladies. She did the exchange and then told us that the food would be donated (which is awesome). I took my dog there & they destroyed his hair. Half way through the hair trim they refused to work on him. He is the sweetest dog in the world & when he gets nervous he sits down. He is a shelter rescued dog. The groomer (blond lady that looked miserable about her job) had a very bad attitude & said they refuse to work on him. I got worried & took my dog to the vet and the doctor said there is nothing wrong with and recommended that I find another groomer. I was so disappointed & did not expect the rude attitude they had letting me know their feelings. Since then I have taken him to another groomer & they love him & have no problem grooming him. read more

Not only were my dogs nails barely trimmed, but when I went to check his left ear (after discovering his right ear was infected) I found a cotton ball that they failed to remove!!! That cotton ball had been in his ear for over a week. I am just disgusted. read more

This is by far one of the worst locations to bring your pet to get groomed. I made an appointment for my Yorkie to get groomed at 10:30am picked up my dog at 2:30pm only to be told by the rudest high entitled groomer by the name of Amanda that my dog was not allowed to return because he wasn't trained to listen and to make matters worse she refused to finish grooming him so his fur is chopped and uneven. I have never been so insulted by a dog groomer who thinks she's too good to finish her job. My tea cup yorkie has never had a problem getting groomed when I've taken him to petsmart. Apparently Petco doesn't care about its customers and allows there employees to treat the customers and animals rudely. This woman should be ashamed of herself if these are the type of employees that Petco has to represent them then Petco has lost my business. read more

Hi.. I am writing a yelp for the Cochrane Petco grooming department. We have been going to Amanda for about two years now. I wish I did this yelp earlier. She is so amazing with our puppy Bradley! She is so passionate, patient, and kind with are Bradley..I swear he knows her name and gets excited when we tell him he is going to visit her..Not to mention... the amazing job she does on the grooming part of Bradley...He looks so amazing and pure white when we pick him up..He is never stressed out when we pick him up. We take our Shih Tzu to this Petco for grooming. They always do a good job and it's pretty easy to get an appointment at the last minute. Workers are always friendly. The only thing I wish this petco had was a doggie day camp like Petsmart. read more

Terrible experience- made an online appointment for grooming and bat for the first time at this place. Arrived on time- had to wait for the groomer. Didn't know what we're there for. My dog is a large Yorker that weighs 16 lbs. however according to their weight my dog weighs 38 lbs. cannot even tell a difference. Kept encouraging me from the time I got there to go somewhere else because it takes them 4 hours. Unbelievable! So I left!!I'm glad I left, the worse . was worried what kind of hair cut they would have done. read more

I have come here on two separate occasions for grooming. Once for my grandma's dog, and the second for my dog. My grandma adopted a new little terrier mix who is an absolute sweetheart, but she was terribly abused by her old owner, and the outcome is that she is really timid and bite-y if she isn't used to you. We wanted to get her nice and groomed, but we were scared that she would bite them or just flat out wouldn't let them near her. To our surprise she did really well! Our groomer was Alicia and she was really nice and reassuring! She even gave Kia a cute little bow. The second time we went was for our pitbull mix, Rosie. We have a petco close to where we live, but I just don't really trust the people there. They don't seem very friendly. Rosie is the biggest, most lovable teddy bear out there, and she's actually really easy to bathe. The only downside is that she will not let us cut her nails. She absolutely refuses. It started getting bad, so we decided it was time to take her to get them done. I completely forgot the groomers name, but she was so sweet and helpful! I was actually a little scared because they called us back in fairly soon after we had gone to look at some shampoos. I thought they were gonna tell us that there was no way they were able to do it, because she put up that much of a fight with us, I couldn't imagine what she would do with a complete stranger. As soon as we walked in, she told us that she actually did amazingly! I was shocked. I wish I could remember her name, but her groomer number is 018, and I would really just love to thank her because I didn't think it was possible to cut my babies nails. I feel so much better now that her nails are nice and pretty. This place is amazing, and I do definitely recommend! I was always hesitant because I thought any regular Joe Schmoe like myself could work there with no experience, but these girls know what they're doing! read more

Semi-rude worker... I was cleaning up a little pee spot from my pup (obvious someone nor workers cleaned well previously) when I was approached by a worker saying they're closing soon. I said yes I know I'm just cleaning a little pee spot. So he just stood over me watching as I was scrubbing (previous pee stains) the bottom shelf and floor...then when I was done he was basically ushering me to the front of the store. This is the third worker over time who has left a sour taste as far as customer service. Think we're done with the place. We've had better luck with An-jans and the pet smart in Gilroy...oh and of course better prices at pet club in South San Jose. Just MHO... read more

My pup loves coming here cause she knows she's gonna leave with a treat lol. The prices on somethings are great but toys are way too expensive. I can go to the dollar store and buy 10 stuffed animals for the price of one here. Other than that I love it! They always carry the biggest bag of food she eats, she goes through a lot of food!! I went to visit this place and get some mess for my ailing goldfish that are now passed away. They have a nice selection of fish in this place. They don't have many but what they have is pretty nice. I like their gold fishes and don't mind buying some from them. The salt water ones are the familiar ones but they have a nice little selection. I was tempted to buy an aquarium but I just need to convince my wife to go for it. read more

I have been taking my miniature poodle to Elena since he was about 4 months old. He and I both absolutely LOVE her. She treats him like he was her own . She is always able to get us in even when we are in a pinch for time! As long as Elena is here and we are living within 25 miles , we will always bring our sweet boy to this awesome lady!!! This is the best place to have your pets groomed! The staff, especially Amanda since she gave my senior dog a bath, is excellent and they are very caring. Their prices are reasonable and they take all the time they need with your pet. I am very happy that I finally found a great place to take my dog to. The staff there is fantastic and you will love them too! I will be taking my lab there monthly for a bath now! I've tried other places and was very disappointed in their services. I came in today to test my water and get some more fish for my aquarium. After asking an associate to page for help in aquatics, an employee walked to the department with a monster energy drink and bag of chips in hand. i figured that he was on his break so i didnt approach him immediately. he stared at the fish tank for about a minute when i asked if he was on his break. he replied "no" then tested my water. Later during my visit I wanted to get fish. Two associates were talking to a customer so i waited for the conversation to end or for one of them to break away from the conversation to assist me. after they finished talking i had been waiting about 5 minutes and the associate walked right past me like she was avoiding me. i asked if she could get me some fish and she finally did. The overall impression i got was that they were not eager to help me unless they were approached and seemed to avoid any opportunity to show good customer service. Also i found it a bit unprofessional for an employee to carry/consume food and drink on the salesfloor while working and not on their break. read more

I'm an avid saltwater aquarium hobbyist. When it comes to Marine fish I never shop at PETCO for my Marine needs. I needed a small aquarium pump in an emergency. Most pumps can be use in both freshwater & saltwater aquariums so I was hoping I could find it at PETCO. Walking into the Morgan Hill PETCO at the Target shopping center I spotted a small set up of quality Marine fish and Invertebrates, wow! I purchased a ( Balistapus Undulatus) Trigger-fish and know it's in my main display tank. She is vibrant, healthy and has a great temperament with the rest of the fish family in the aquarium. They have a small but great selection. They have all the proper equipment & foods for use with Marine setups. I added this particular PETCO to my Marine list. I highly recommend visiting this store you might just fine what you're looking for. read more

We always have our dog groomed here. They do a great job and it's very reasonably priced. I've had services that come to my home groom my dog, and I've taken mine to other independent shops, but it's always been hit or miss. I had a nightmare experience with one that was referred by my vet. I think they referred this woman just because they'd heard of her and she's right next door to them. But she cut way too much hair off of my dog, and she was really creepy. Her space was this tiny little closet. The people at Petco are nice and friendly. I trust them with my dog, and it's cheaper than any other groomers I've had. read more

Today was the 2nd time I have had my dog groomed there. I have him stripped, as he swims everyday. When I picked him up, he had a 3-inch gash in the front of his chest! When I asked, they got all defensive and said "we shouldn't have even accepted your dog, his notes say he is a problem" EXCUSE ME? Why was nothing said to me the first time he was groomed here? I wonder what came first; the gash on his chest that needed a STAPLE TO CLOSE or his supposed " bad attitude"? No one said ANYTHING to me at all about my dog being a "thug". Their attitude was that he got what he deserved for being a "brat". Now I won't even buy dog food there. Screw them. read more

I've been coming to Petco for several years now with complete satisfation. I went to the Gilroy store. When I found out they were closing, I was sad because I thought I had lost my Luke's special groomer Elena. I was so happy when I learned she had moved to the Morgan Hill Petco. Yay! My Lukie and I are happy again cuz we found our groomer who knows exactly what he needs to feel safe and comfortable and I like the results. Plus another Petco to buy his dog items. I really like the store. It's about 15 minutes further but it's worth it. I am always greeted with friendly staff and service I look forward too. read more

We have 2 guinea pigs and she helped us to trim their nails so that we did not have to take them to a vet. We would have been charged about $40.00 for each. Just had my Golden groomed/shaved for the summer and he has four abrasions and or cuts, that I have found so far. They did tell me of one but said it was something they found under his coat when they cut it but no way. The hair is super short there and it is big enough I would have noticed it previously. I thought it was maybe a place he had chewed because of a sticker in his fur but the area is quite large. He also has a few other places where they shaved him too short and made a razor burn. I said 1/2" all over and they clearly did not comply. I also asked them to trim his ear hair and he now has a cut in one of his ears. Now he has to wear his "cone of shame" so he will not lick off all the medicine I had to put on. Also, I dropped him off at 9:00 am, they said 3 1/2 to 4 hours. At 12:30 they still had not called so I just went there. It was a little after one and he was still on the table. Almost done, but still. I also asked specifically if they would trim between his toes and that was not done completely, I ended up completing the job myself. In tears the whole time because he is such a sweet dog and they obviously hurt him. They were supposed to put the cream on his pads and it doesn't look/feel like they did that either. He had quite a few areas that still had long hair and the rest of his coat is uneven. His tail is not cut short like I asked either. Just all around not a job done well. read more

This review is for the grooming department. I think they have maybe one person who handles the dogs appropriately. The others shouldn't be there. They are crabby and scold the dogs on the table. I took my chihuahua to have her nails trimmed. Granted, she is wiggly but she is well tempered and has never snapped or bitten anyone. Not only did the groomer only trim half her nails but she told me that my dog bit her and showed me the tiniest of scratches that she probably gave herself yesterday. If a chihuahua bites you, you bleed. No blood on her arm. We will not be back and I suggest that if you love your dog, you don't go there either read more

I might be a little biased because the kids and I spend so much time here but everyone here is amazing. We took puppy lessons from Diana and she was great Luis the manager is great and always points us in the right direction. My daughter wanted a snake so bad and one of the clerks explained to her that she could have a pet snake that lives at petco so every weekend she wants to go visit her "pet" snake. That was the best of all. That kids come and hold pets mom shops and everyone is helpful and friendly. Love this place. read more

Very disappointed about my visit last week. I drove more than 40 miles to go to Gilroy because I was expecting get a better services than the Meridian store. I paid $50 for a full grooming including a hair cut; at the end they charged me more $14 for extra brushing (they said my dog's fur was tangled). Anyway, arriving at home after drive 80 miles round trip, and checking at my puppy, here what I got. They didn't clean her ears; the paws were dirty; the hair just was trimmed and the fur still having tangles. I tried to contact the customer services, but after 39 minutes waiting in the line, nobody assisted me. I sent an email do the corporate office and they said I should be contacted by the general manager. After one week, nobody called me or replied to my complain. Definitely won't come back and not refer their services to anyone. read more

We have spent a good amount of money at this Petco store in the past few years. We tried to return a faulty item and they refused to return it. They stated that it was our problem!? O rating on the grooming services. Had a 1030am appt for my Keeshond to get groomed for the first time. Kristina greeted us and immediately re quoted the services, increasing the fee considerably. She did very little to make us feel welcome, contradicted everything I said and was borderline argumentative, absolutely no compassion for my concerns and didn't listen. She doesn't know my puppy and didn't care about how to make him feel less anxious. My dog is not kenneled and didn't want to go in.....so within 10 minutes, we were on our way home. Lesson learned. They want to run the services like a car wash. I will take my business elsewhere and will find someone who actually cares about animals and customer service. read more
