I decided to bring my Keeshond, Marshmallow, to get groomed. He had already been to the groomers a week prior but they did such a poor job that I decided he needed to get groomed again. I set up the appointment online, it was super easy. The only difficult portion was getting his shot records from his vet. Dropping him off was very easy and his groomer, Lon, listened to all my concerns and she went over what services were going to be performed. He was done within 1 1/2 hours of his appointment time. He came out dingle berry free and smelling fantastic. I will definitely be using their grooming services more in the future. Called right at opening to see if they could do cat grooming. I thought of just walking in, but am glad I didn't because I was told I needed to bring rabies paperwork with me. Brought my long haired Siamese kitty in approximately 20 minutes after opening. They were already getting busy for the day, one woman in front of me was getting her pup washed & a lady behind me came in with two doggos for a walk in nail trim. I did not expect to see so many people there that early but am very glad I came in sooner than later. My kitty needed a full shave/bath to get rid of some mats in her fur. I was told it would be about 3-4 hours of service & I should be able to pick my kitty up afterwards. The servicewoman handed me her business card, told me I could call anytime for updates & confirmed my cell phone # twice for pick up which I thought was a nice touch. I ended up calling about 1.5 hours into the service & asked for the "express" option which speeds up the grooming for $10. All in all, it took 2.5 hours w/ express called in late. I was satisfied with the amount of time it took & the customer service I received. I'm also really glad my kitty has no more mats in her fur, but I'm not happy with how she looks shaved (which isn't the groomers fault.) They did an overall good job. I went into Petco to buy dog food and had a very unpleasant experience with the manager Tim. Tim was at the register and was in a very bad mood. I asked him about a price I saw online and he snapped at me. I go in there often to buy items and donate, and have never had an employee, much less a manager, be so angry and unprofessional. I expect that a dog might snap at me at Petco but I would not expect that behavior from a store manager. Petco is much closer to my house but I will happily take my business to Petsmart. read more

The manager and the Veteran her are horrible. The manager Katherine is very unprofessional. I brought my dog there and she was rude and disrespectful. I questioned the treatment and she repeatedly told me if I didn't like it I can go somewhere else she also said maybe I can't affect it because I questioned the price. A nice addition to the plaza down the way from Sprouts. It is always clean in here. They have a grooming area that's visible, which I like. Transparency is comforting when it comes to someone dealing with your pets. There is a slow a self wash dog station with 3 tubs. I haven't used it yet, but would like to give it a shot in the future. There is a wide variety of smaller animals and reptiles, more so than Petsmart on North 5th. It's fun to take a look while shopping around for the dogs. Customer service is usually really great, but there's an older woman there who I've heard speaking customers and answering the phone in a rather rude tone. Terrible service. TIM was the associate that was available to assist in getting our Koi fish. He was very rude and unfriendly. He never answered any of our questions and gave rude attitude when we asked if he could help us with our fish. When he finally bagged our fish up, he didn't put any air in the fish bag. Just threw the poor koi into a bad and tied it up. He's lucky we only live 10 min. away or that fish would have easily died if we lived anywhere further. Terrible employee. I bring my two dogs to this place on Wednesday to the grooming salon. My dog always are happy and playful. I think my dog was tortured because now is completely traumatized. He looks scary and is very sadly to see my dog like this. I will pay an attorney so they can investigate and check camaras to see what happened there with my dog. Worst experience with a Petco in my life I bring my Akita to get groomed all the time And recently moved to the north side of town . I took her in for her regularly grooming at this new location she isn't use to . The workers were completely rude . My Akita's nails/paws are cut so short they bled . When we asked about our puppy they just talked down about her. She's never terrified of getting groomed and she wanted to leave there so badly ! The private area was cut in a way that looked like a landing strip (not cute) and she cut his eyes yet the eye boogers were still there. Today my daughter and I came to the North Decatur Petco for a couple feeder mice. We are also looking for a new reptile to join our family. I asked a man with glasses (Tim) if we could take a few minutes to hold a lizard. He rolled his eyes at me. Told me he doesn't let people hold anything unless they are definitely buying. I pointed out to him that I am the mom and I make the decisions about pets and that I had my debit card. He let out a very unhappy sigh and was about to help us (not because he wanted to). Recently, I came in with my puppy booklet only to realize that the coupons had expired & a new book was not available due to covid. The cashier was very nice and honored my coupons. We got a new pup and avail the free one time wellness check up which i saw on my petco app we booked for it long story short our pup is from korea and before the seller ship it to us me and the seller make sure the vaccination is complete and we have the vaccine record in our end all complete and this lady (assistant) starting to charge which is because she is not reading the vaccine record and w/o my concent and not even signing anything yet she get our pup and put in another room and do the rabbies shot which is my puo just had her rabbies shot last month! July! So validity of that is 1yr. To that fact that because the assistant not reading the record we are bothered that what if my pup overdose!!! Not going on this vetco/petco anymore. And after that and my husband complain not sure but its like the head talked tonus personally about what happened and we never see the assistant again before we leave and make any apologies and jfyi she lied she mentioned its booster! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE FOR GROOMING! My Dog was inured! First let me say I have taken all of my dogs to the manager of this location for years and she is a very nice person and incredible groomer. During her extended absence I was forced to use another groomer here for my 13 year old labradoodle. He has serious allergic dermatitis and can no longer take skin meds due to liver function. Raquel the manager groomer has done a wonderful job with special shampoo to help him with his skin providing him relief. Since she had been out for so long he was in desperate need of grooming so I reluctantly tried one of her grooming staff. When I dropped him off I told the groomer about his skin. An hour later she called me and told me my dog had lice. I told her he doesn't have lice he has dermatitis and by the way you groom all my dogs and wouldn't they all have it? She had another groomer look and the other groomer said it's just allergies. She continued with the groom and after another hour had passed I received a call telling me that the groomer had cut my dogs ear and they were in transit to their vet. Obviously I was very distressed and went to pick up my dog and found him with a deep cut in his ear and halfway groomed. Their vet also tried to tell me my dog may have a parasite in his skin. FYI my vet has confirmed my dog just has allergies and could not believe the way we were treated. Clearly this vet is a moron as my dog has had this condition unfortunately since he was a puppy. Good shampoo and baths are a ice saver for him. We will seek relief elsewhere for him. read more

I like this new, clean store. There aren't a lot of employees and those who are there seem to wear multiple hats and therefore aren't always easy to find. That being said, every time I need help I get friendly service. They seem to be updating the cat food section over the past few visits because it has been hard to maneuver in this section for the past few weeks. Decided to schedule a bath with first availability and was Petra and got a call the our golden doodle tried to bite her. Our dog has never been aggressive with anyone. So I found that very strange. Made an appointment for both my dogs for the bath with haircuts and added teeth brushing which was supposed to be $61 and $64. Per online, the bath and hair cut included shampoo, ear cleaning, blow-dry, brush out, gland expression, nail trim, and scented spritz which was $52 so I added teeth brush which was an additional $12. Once I got there they also stated I would receive a 20% discount as well as it was my first time there. When I arrived to pick up my dogs I waited for a while at the groomers desk but no one was there, I had to go get assistances from the front associate. The front associate had to get get someone else that was looking around the store for someone who worked at the groomers which was no where to be found. The front associate had to ring me up at the front register which was $150. Extremely disappointed with the haircuts and with their customer service . Thought I would try their self serve dog bath. By far the WORST bathing experience for me, and my dog, ever!!! Water was cold, the auto dilute shampoo barely provided a lather. As a result, it took me twice as long to get him clean. The conditioner, also auto dispensed, ran out half way through. there is no one around to ask for help. So you can leave your dog unsupervised, or just not get help. Then the "air blower" was as cold as can be. My dog shook the entire time and became frustrated. I will NEVER use this self bath again. I will return to "All about Paws" Down the street. A little further away but 100% better experience for me and the pooch. read more
