Michael was a fantastic groomer and went above and beyond with my dog who hates getting her toenails trimmed. he was super patient with her and did an awesome job. only critique I have is that the self bathing station could use stronger dryers. the shampoo and conditioner is pretty diluted so I'd bring your own from home. otherwise- friendly staff and good experience :) read more

Went to the vet for the free first visit. The place is really clean, sale items are prominently displayed, so no searching! I wouldn't say they are t friendly, but we weren't greeted, one person did come over to make sure we were finding everything ok. It's in a nice shopping center. Plenty of parking, etc. I'll keep using the competition because it's SO much closer, but I'm not opposed to going here again if I'm in the neighborhood. The vet experience was meh. Just a strange encounter. I've never had them take my dog out of the exam room before and then come back in with the vet. I should have asked what they did with him back there. LOL read more

I went into this petco today around 4:15pm ish. I went to go get my dog groomed for the first time there. I was greeted by an older woman, short blonde hair (I didn't catch her name) but she had the most awful attitude and tone of voice towards me. She said I needed a rabies shot papers (which I understand) but the way she talked to me and her attitude towards me was completely unacceptable and disrespectful. It got me so angry to go the point where I told her that her attitude sucks and I left the store very upset. She acted like she hated her job to the point where she takes it out on customers. read more

Petco Decatur ruined my dog's Christmas! I took my dog to Petco Decatur to get grooming for Christmas photo. They said a specialist would do a great job. Totally the opposite. Instead of Christmas, he gave me Halloween Horror! The trauma took a year to try them again and spoke to the manager Jamie, she would not honor what I was promised by the previous manager. Jamie said I would not take my dog to Petco Decatur for doing such a bad job! That's the manager for you! Very rude experience at the grooming area. I took a quick photo of my own dog, and the staff member immediately responded in a confrontational way. If there is a no-photo policy, that's completely understandable--but it could have been explained politely. The attitude was unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional. Jesus was awesome. So kind, patient, and helpful from start to finish. He treated my fur babies with such care, like they were his own. He took his time, didn't rush anything, and made sure everything was done right. He even printed out the vet records for all six of them and offered to email them too, which was a huge help. This location is the closest to Skye Canyon area with a doctor. The Tropical site is temporarily non-operational due to a lack of on-site medical staff. We took our dog that we rescued to be groomed and they took her back to be groomed Dec 24/25 . We stayed in store. After 20 min they found us and said she was scared and that they would not charge us.. to schedule a VIP appointment so she didn't need a kennel next time. She is such a professional and is always on time for appointments and takes such great care of our sweet pooch.. she has an awesome disposition and it's obvious that she loves pets and always goes that extra mile to ensure perfection. Came in on a SLOW Sunday, got my items, went to the cashier. 3 ladies standing there, talking about a Christmas movie while I wait for one of them to get their register ready. I made eye contact with all 3 ladies, they saw me standing there, but there sadly wasn't even an acknowledgment. After they finished their chat about the movie 'Klaus', and an older lady finally came to her register to help me out. But they continued talking about the movie; I felt like I was interrupting THEIR conversation about the movie. Anyways, transaction complete. I asked for a bag after I paid, not knowing I had to pay for one. The lady gave me a bag, told me I had to pay next time (understandable) didnt even bag all my items, she bagged half of my SMALL items and said "Have a good day." What kind of customer service is that? Seriously? Why does this happen regularly with your cashiers? I've never been helped by a happy, nice cashier; no need to even start a conversation, even a plain smile will do but cashiers here don't seem to do that. Another time, I was helped by a male cashier who was on a casual phone call. Then another time, I was helped by a male cashier who was annoyed/dismissive the entire time. And this time, 3 cashiers who can't even acknowledge a customer. How sad. Any email I can send my complaint to? I can't find any online for customer care. I had an appointment scheduled at 11:30am for my cat and was declined to be seen by the doctor due to not confirming my phone appointment? I was never told when signing up for vital care rewards that if you don't confirm your phone calls then you couldn't be seen. I've always been checked in with no issues and through the app. A waste of time and now I'm looking for another place for care for my pet. Great job Petco. read more

Mike and Najee are my go to however everyone here is AMAZING! Mike does an excellent job grooming our baby every time and sometimes Najee does her baths . I am extremely picky about where I take her and who I let groom her but these two young men & honestly the whole grooming department here are seriously outstanding ! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE TO BE GROOMED!!! This place is not doodle or pet friendly. Please, go to a professional instead for grooming services. Our Goldendoodle received a double ear infection after receiving treatment from this location on 09/19/21. The following morning, we noticed that Maggie was lying in a corner and was visibly irritated. After we checked her ears we saw caked gunk and liquid leaking out. During check-in we prefaced that she was prone to ear infections and they guaranteed that precautions would be taken yet the inside of her ear was extremely wet. After a trip to the animal hospital where she had to be sedated and is now on antibiotics plus a $600 vet bill after a $200 grooming service. Absolutely unacceptable. Please take better precautions or don't advertise yourselves as making "pet health and wellbeing a top priority," as listed on your website. read more

Wow!! This Petco location is quite amazing! My daughter and I were in the area, so we decided to check it out! The Petco location is located off of the 215/Decatur. There is a lot spacious parking available at this location. Inside the Petco, there is plenty for toys, food, and care available. There is also a grooming salon located inside. The store was well-kept and clean. Inventory was fully stocked. The staff was friendly and asked if we needed any assistance, we kindly replied. We ended up picking out a cat toy and a few food selections, specifically the Royal Canin cat cans. read more

The tanks were just plain dirty with algae, etc. We wouldn't accept filthy cages for adoptive cats and dogs. Why is it okay to not maintain clean fish tanks? Wouldn't buy fish here. Don't know what else is in the water. Staff member didn't seem to have any idea about the tank upkeep. When I returned a few days later, they were even dirtier. read more

The salon employee that assisted me was very knowledgeable in her role and efficiently anticipated my chihuahuas needs. Can we say genuine sense of interest!!!!! (happy dance) While picking my little guy up salon employees begged him to stay and showered my little turkey with affection. My fur baby is usually rambunctious around strangers as most chihuahuas are but surprisingly no negative feedback; score!! I came in with a Golden Retriever and was very specific I wanted to leave with him still looking like a golden... leaving leg and butt feathers was her idea of he still looks like a Golden?!?!? I then had to come back to have him fully shaved so it didn't grow back uneven. A day or so goes by, and I notice that blade burn behind my dogs ears!!!! She never told me about this cut!!! RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM THESE GROOMERS. Other locations do a much better job, and don't keep your dog boarded for 3-4 hours for a simple groom. If this is the grooming managers work I am super concerned for any dog owner who takes them to get groomed at this specific location. He is so awesome with my little pup and has done full grooming on him the last 4 times. We just got a new puppy. He was a terror until I brought him in to have sessions with Jack, the trainer. Jack is amazing! He has my little man actually listening to and remembering commands. Came in to buy feeder goldfish and when we asked the person working there (female- 10:15am on 10/05) if they had time to "fish for the bigger ones" (because the "large" were almost the same size as the small ones but with a 20 cent-ish difference) the response we got was "not really." Not really?!?! No apologies or anything. Just "not really" with an attitude. Not what we expected since the other workers we've come across before always responded that they'd happily help. Needless to say we walked out fishless. Note- there's a Hispanic guy that works in the fish area who is AMAZING! He's always so positive and happy to help. And super knowledgeable! Our vet Dr. Mina Botros was very short with us and seemed rushed. He took our dog for like 1 minute and came back with a diagnosis that we believe is inaccurate. My dog had a vaccine 2 weeks prior and a lump appeared in the exact same spot, the nurse even stated that she thought that it was vaccine related. The Doctor after 1 minute determined it wasn't, and that we needed to now pay for a test that is of course expensive. Furthermore, we were charged for a full exam even though it was a follow-up from the visit 2 weeks prior. The appointment would have been free if it was related to the vaccine, so it all seems kinda fishy to me. What type of exam can be done on a dog in 1 minute? Quite frankly this is just the most recent of a string of bad experiences with Petco. Between the subpar grooming and the constant scheduling issues we have reached our boiling point. We pay monthly for Vital care premier, and all our exams were free until a month ago when they decided to change it all of a sudden and now we have pay for visits. Since they can make changes to the deal we agreed to, I would like to propose a change of my own. I want out of this membership ASAP! read more

Went here for grooming services and would have rated higher but for one omission I will mention later. Percie(?) was very helpful and took great care with my pup. It was my dog's first time there. Made sure she got details on what I wanted, went through the procedure checklist with me and all services. My pup was ready when she said and looked amazing. I didn't make my appointment with her, so learned of VIP services too late. My dog is super skittish so I will opt for VIP next time, which guarantees she is completely groomed all at once and is completed sooner. read more

Save your pup the pain! Do Not bring your dog here for grooming. Yesterday I picked mine up after 4 hours. I was greeted with a warning, "Oh, I accidentally cut Bella's leg". Did the cut actually take 4 hours or was she too nervous to call me? Her whiskers are uneven and her entire coat is jagged. My first two pictures are of the cut that she received yesterday. The third picture is from another appointment in which Bella's bow was too tight and caused her head to bleed. The groomer responsible for both instances is Delana. Maybe you can bring your pup here, but please be sure that she does not get her hands on them! read more

I'm not sure why the bad reviews, everyone has been super helpful in setting up a fish tank (that previously held our fish from the pond as it leaked), and our pond. We wanted both pond and fish tank to be as natural as possible (no chemicals to balance) and got great recommendations for plants, fish, good bacteria (and what to expect, LoL)... We appreciated the help so much, we named 2 of our pond goldfish after the 2 guys that spent quite a bit of time and patience with us! I decided to bring my Keeshond, Marshmallow, to get groomed. He had already been to the groomers a week prior but they did such a poor job that I decided he needed to get groomed again. I set up the appointment online, it was super easy. The only difficult portion was getting his shot records from his vet. Dropping him off was very easy and his groomer, Lon, listened to all my concerns and she went over what services were going to be performed. He was done within 1 1/2 hours of his appointment time. He came out dingle berry free and smelling fantastic. I will definitely be using their grooming services more in the future. As for the store they always have what I need and if it isn't in stock I can always order it online. read more

Pretty disappointed with Petco Grooming station. I always Pre-Select what I want done to my 2 dogs and they still add additional nail buffing for an additional $10 per dog. I receive the dogs and carry them to my vehicle and realize their nails are still sharp. It's super expensive and just disappointing. Not going back. read more
