This review is for Cassandra, the groomer we had for our guy Eli.. Eli is an 11 year old blind German shepherd who had never had a professional grooming until today. Cassandra was phenomenal. She spent over 2 hours brushing our guy. She was patient and kind. It was shown when she came out to meet him. She wasn't pushy or rushed with him. She listened to him and called us when he was done being groomed. She was honest about not being able to finish because he was getting confused and a little anxious. She was graceful with the amount of hair he had left all over the floor. We 100% recommend her. read more

When I need kitty litter, this is the place I go because it's the best prices and my kitty likes the Petco bulk litter. You can save a few bucks if you bring your own empty Petco container and just refill it at the bulk refill station in the store. One tip if you do this, is use one of your old Covid masks as you shovel the litter as it makes a big dust cloud as you pour it into the provided funnel. I love pet co. I've been shopping there for years. They have always price match chewy. Well...manager didn't even try to help me with product match. She said she doesn't have bundles. For litter box breeze system. I brought the whole "bundle" to the counter. She refused to price match and told me it's because of the SKU number. She let the line pile up behind me and just stood there. If you have all the products you have a bundle. Without even trying I find it hard to believe you can't figure out how to price match. To the fat, bearded employee who was standing there with two older dogs, this review is because of you. Went in to pick up cat food and had my 3 year old with me cause he likes looking at the animals. He was really excited to show me the chinchillas. So he run over to them, which happened to be by the fat bearded employee, who yells, and I mean YELLS, "HEY! SLOW DOWN!!" to my boy. You are lucky we were with his grandma, cause I was seeing red and she could tell and calmed me down. I don't know who is running this store but I'm highly concerned. All employees were outside for some reason, 4 people on the line waiting. An employee comes back in and ignores the whole line! When who I would guess is the "cashier" comes back in, he nearly runs into the register full speed, and is super clumsy, like he is on something. The 3 transactions ahead of me were ROUGH. The employee was on another planet. All 3 employees I saw by the time I walked out the door looked under the influence. read more

Seriously, every time we call to schedule an appointment for our babies to get groomed, each and every one of the staff members remembers who the dogs are and what services they need! This place is on point, every time! They make recommendations throughout the years to ensure our pets are getting the treatment they deserve. Our oldest dog went from getting his nails clipped to having them buffed because as he ages, he becomes more sensitive. They don't rush through the grooming process either, and they never overbook us so when we take the time to load our babies into the vehicle and drive them over, they are always ready to take them. We've never had any issues with this location, and we have always been 100% satisfied with their customer service and the work they do. We trust them implicitly and you should to! OH AND.. when you go to pick up your babies, they will have put the cutest little bandanas on them which last for a few weeks!!! Just a nice touch! read more

I will start by offering a Recommendation to go to Treats pet store around the corner on churn Creek. (Next to palm beach tan) I thought I was being safer by going into Petco grabbing the jacket I thought was right for my dog a d trying it on as home instead of going in and spending more time on the store trying on the jacket with her and socializing with other dogs. They informed me that they were not accepting returns "because of covid" which I think is a BS excuse from a large business to increase profits. I don't think returns have anything to do with Covid at all. Nonetheless less, I won't be shipping from this large store anymore. I am only giving a 1 star because I had to give them something. I have been taking my dog to them for years and live two hours away. I had an appointment today and received a phone call a half an hour before his appointment saying that they have opened up a new location and the groomers that normally groom him are working there now so I would need to call that location and make an appointment. I live two hours away! My dog had an enlarged heart and they knew that and my vet informed them before every appointment that he is fine it's just a matter of picking him up and putting pressure. I did not make this appointment online I called them and they had all of this information way ahead of time. They were very rude and dismissive to me. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Had a very insulting horrible experience today. Attemted for my Full bred poodle to get groomed. He had been getting groomed his entire life... 8 years of being groomed. This dog has not one man bone in his body. I requested the same cut he gets this time of the year. They were confused and started that he doesn't have the type of poodle hair for what was requested. Again i stated he has this cut regularly. She said i need to get in a regular schedule of grooming for him. His last grooming appointment was on valentines day at Petco. I have him groomed monthly. They argued that he was very thin. My dog just visited the vet and is considered very healthy and correct weight for the poodle breed. i left him and within 20 minutes was called to pick him up as they said he was agitated. Again they blame this on his weight. i recommend going to a groomer that uses staff knowledgeable about different breeds. read more

I go in about every 2 weeks to buy a 25lb bag of Acana Duck and Pear dog food. On occasion they are out of stock and EVERY single time one employee or another informs me: "We're not carrying that anymore." Yet every time I go in a few weeks later and they are fully stocked. Because of their employees' lack of knowledge and misinformation, they lose out on hundreds of dollars of my future buisness. I absolutely love the groomers at Petco. When I bring my Jack Russell Terrier in for his nails to be trimmed, I am always warmly greeted and immediately taken care of. They check in Casper and hand me a receipt to pay for the service and by the time I return from the cash register they are finishing up with Casper. Casper is a finicky little dog and does not like his paws and nails being handled. The groomers actually have two of them work on Casper, one to pet and scratch him and one to trim his nails. They actually file his nails with a dremel type rotary sanding tool. When they are done they usually give me a bag of treats for my little guy. Casper is always happy to walk in the doors of Petco. The selection of good quality dog food here is amazing. read more

For years I had consistent issues getting frozen rats for my pet snake to eat, and I simply had to wait for it to be automatically ordered. It was a terrible system. A while back a woman helped me, took my name and phone number, and promised to pre order rats for me every few months and to keep that section stocked. I took the chance and booked my dog for a groom here and won't make that mistake again. The girl that checked us in was very professional and nice but when I picked my dog up the first thing they said to me was "you need to get your dog used to this." Well, he's still a puppy and I have to start somewhere, right? One of my dogs testicles is cut, and his tail didn't get trimmed at all. I understand he's a puppy but don't shame me the second I walk through the door. The only reason I gave more than one star is booking the appointment was easy and the girl that checked me in was nice. Petco has redeemed themselves because of an associate named Sierra. She is always kind, smiling, and great with her customer service. I have to buy a ton of cat food for my two food sensitive cats, and sometimes I ask if there's a coupon. When most associates have said a Flat No, Sierra at least takes a moment to look and see. When I'm at checkout the cashier NEVER helps me with my dog food. I don't expect them to put it in my cart but it's pretty common for them to start helping someone else while I go from the credit card machine back to the counter to collect my 30lb bag, a little help handing it over is greatly appreciated and done at every store except this one. I was desperately searching for couch/bed pet steps and couldn't get the checker to stop his conversation with his coworker about what degrees are useful and what aren't to find out if you carry them, can I order them and have them delivered etc so I went elsewhere... the store is nice it just has employees who don't care about customer service. read more

I used to love Petco, but sadly the service has really gone down. You can never find anyone to help you. And tonight I went to grab dog food for my pet, and after hauling by 50lbs up to the register the kid behind the register couldn't figure out how to redeem a gift card!!! I even showed him on my phone that it had money on it, but still he said he couldn't take it. He couldn't get a manager to come up and help him even though there was only 4 other customers in the building. So I stood to the side and did buy online pick up in store and it went through with no problem! BUT when I asked if I could take my food and go since I had my online confirmation, he said no it takes at least an hour to process and I would have to come back when they located the item and tagged it, I had it in my hand!!! Not a bad store. I buy lots of clothes from PetCo for my dog. If you come often you can find a great sale on toys. Periodically they throw events like costume contests or pet photos. Staff can be hard to find if you need help. If you can ask for Mark, he's the manager and a great help. read more

Booked online appointment for my two dogs for a bath. Received email confirmation that our appointment has been booked and we are to bring vaccinations records to the appointment. Arrived on the day of appointment 1 hour early, clerk claims that they have been trying to get a hold us to reschedule because our stylist is "ill" and they needed to close early. We drove an hour for the appointment. If you can't reach us by phone or text which is bull cause our phones are with us all the time, why not try to send us an email? Terrible and unprofessional service. The clerk was loud and rude instead of being apologetic she basically said they couldn't get a hold of us and your appointment will not be honored cause the phone number we have on file us no good. I called up Petco to ask if they had certain products I'd seen online and the lady that answered (Sarah) was very helpful and super friendly. We made our way to the store to go buy the products and actually ran into the same employee that had helped me on the phone. She went above and beyond helping us with our issue and identifying causes for the issue and recommended products with a lot of knowledge. She was extremely helpful and seemed genuinely concerned with helping us, very professional. Then we went to checkout and she helped us there too by signing us up for rewards and offering us coupons to help our cat family out. She went above and beyond to teach me about my dogs oral hygiene and even went out into the store to educate me on a few products I am now trying for my dogs teeth.
