I'm torn, if it wasn't for Tion, the rude speechless cashier I would of given a 5 star. I started classes with Angel for my great Dane and in the first class I'm already impressed. He is an amazing trainer hands down. He recommednded the bully sticks for ny dog so I get two, approach the cashier his name is Tion, and he just rings it up with out a hello or even eye contract. I pay and wait for a thank you, yeah I would still be there if I was waiting for that. He handed my receipt abd with out speaking a word to me called the next customer.. wow really? I would of given it zero stars but angel is too am amazing that he compensated for the horrible service. Dear Tion, find a job that makes you happy. read more

Today I went here to pickup some kitten food and grass, yes first it did take about 15 minutes to find someone to help find what I was looking for but when I did Robert was very knowledgeable about the kitten food and questions I had asked him he had great customer service and very patient with me. The only time I have free to come to Petco is on the weekends. I've learned to start visiting other stores (Elliott's, Petsmart, etc.) because I can't stand coming to this store. Every Saturday (perhaps Sundays as well, but I'm not sure), a local adoption agency brings all the pets they have to this store. You walk in & immediately see dogs upon dogs upon dogs. The place is insanely loud. I can't even imagine how this stresses all the animals out. Plus you have customers walking THEIR dogs, who of course looked panicked half the time because of the crying dogs in cages. I think the adoption agency is doing a great thing; I really do. I WANT more people to adopt their pets; however, I don't think it is such a great idea to bring them ALL into one place & cram them in the fish & cat section. Perhaps the store can make room for them in the back of the store, where more room can be made? Plus, I don't like how the agency brings the pets in. I saw an employee (volunteer, perhaps?) let 5 medium sized dogs out of one large crate. Those dogs were so jammed in there the employee had to remove the first dog before the others could move. Then she repeated the process with about 5-6 small dogs in one medium crate. Certainly another method can be used in bringing the animals to the location. Beyond those complaints nothing beats the rude behavior by one of the checkout ladies. I believe her name is Maria. She ALWAYS works the register & is always nice at first, then somehow something makes her mad & her demeanor changes & she becomes rude & nasty. A woman in front of me checking out put her items on the counter. Maria greeted her warmly. Then the woman had a question about an item she couldn't find & Maria sighed loudly, rolled her eyes & said "Well, you could have found someone on the floor to help you with that" before picking up the phone to page someone. The customer explained she couldn't find anyone & Maria completely ignored her. Another employee came over, helped the customer & Maria stood impatiently & even said "Well, this is a great way to stop a line" as if I was making a scene (which I was not) behind the woman. She checked her out then the same happened with me, albeit not me needing another employee. She started to ring me up & I was holding out my Petco card. She explained the card reader was broken for credit cards so she would have to swipe it. I said okay, handed her my card AND my Petco card but she only swiped my credit card. I asked if she got my Petco card for the discounts & she became so nasty. She said "Well you should have told me you wanted me to, now it's too late." I said I had been holding it out & even handed it to her & she said "Well, you never said swipe it!" I couldn't believe her. I asked to speak to her manager & she said "My manager can't help you now either & even if they could they are in the back of the store" & wouldn't call them up! I got in my car, called the store & explained what happened. The manager was a very nice man who apologized profusely & said he would speak to Maria directly. Beware if you visit this store. It could be much better, but they need to get nicer cashiers in & work on organizing the adoption group a bit more. read more

The service on this day was pretty cool but what was different on this day that my dogs nails were filed and they seem as though they were filed by someone that didn't know what they were doing typically my dogs nails are black and every time I came from Petco the nails would be black after they filed theme but today they were, rough looking and, like I did them. This place is too small, not enough registers, little selection and always crowded. Poor selection on collars, leashes, vitamins, worm and flea treatment and toys. Go to PetSmart SO much better in pricing and selection; definitely worth the drive. read more

I have been taking my dogs here for a few months. My dogs look fine but tired of difficulty getting in. Try to make online appt and website says having difficulty and must call store. Call grooming department but no one answers. Leave a message but no one calls back. I call again and am told voicemail isn't working. Really? No technology for web appt or working voicemail. Once I talked to a person it would be a week before I could get even 1 dog in. Ridiculous and frustrating. Looking for a new groomer. read more

I dont like to leave reviews on first visits, after about 4 visits here is mine. Every single time that I've gone to this petco its always been the same, poor service, they take a longggggg time to help you, and keep in mind this is on days that there's no people. Now when it gets busy it gets worse, very under staff, seems like they only put one person per station so when the dog section gets full the people from the fish section go help out so they leave their area un-attend, and there i was chasin for somebody to help me out. This store can do much better, they just got to make some chamges to their staff. read more

This Petco has an excellent selection of food and toys. My issue with this Petco is the customer service. The lady who does check out (she wears glasses and is at the stand on the far left) is particularly annoying. Today we went shopping for costumes, which should have been a fun time- the experience was tainted by her social ineptitude and annoying demeanor. We were waiting "in line"- nobody was ahead of us and insisted we go all the way over to the end in order to check out. She was very slow at checking us out and had to comment on everything we purchased. She also felt the need to walk us step by step through the debit card process- as though it was the first time we had ever done this. Some people take their jobs a little too seriously and this lady was one of them. Avoid this check out stand if you can help it. read more

This review is for the Groomers... I dropped my dog off to get groomed at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Usually they only need no more than 4 hours to get her groomed. Well, I called at 4:20 to check on her and they hadn't even started her haircut. They told me the groomer had to go to lunch, then it would be another hour and a half after that. I picked her up at 7:00 p.m. when I had people over for dinner. Mind you, they have no potty facilities, and are not allowed to take the dogs out to go. My puppy went 7 hours without being let out to go to, this to me is dog abuse. I raised a stink and was comped, as I should have been, but I don't care how nice the manager was to me in the end, this doesn't excuse the fact that my dog was cooped up for that amount of time. If you have an appointment, do my dog and don't try and fit other dogs in. I will never take my puppy back there for grooming. The gift card I received will go towards food and treats online. I will take her to a groomer that has the dedicated time to groom her next time and pay more. read more

Was not overly impressed with this Petco. We came here for supplies but also come to see the pets as well. For the most part the majority are in the public areas and able to reached. However, the last two times we've been here we've been unable to get to the cats (our fav) because they are sectioned off inside a dog training area (how ironic). Granted I have been there a few times, and about 2 months ago was my most recent, but any good pet shop always carries rabbits. WTH; do they think it will be the killer bunny from carbannogh? Always expect a long, long line at checkout. Expect frowning groomers who have no gentle, loving rapport with your baby. And right there in FRONT of you they show their disdain---snotty little female brats! I would NEVER leave my dog in their care!!!!! Expect ridiculously high prices on " made in China" JUNK! Expect no floor service. Expect Joe and Jane don't know where this is or that is. Expect them to be out of the over-priced basics that you need (large, basic leather collars, weaning formula for abandoned kittens, etc.) This is the fourth time I've been to this out of touch company and I usually walk out with nothing. Their nametag/ID tag machine selection of practical medium to large basic steel tags is poor. All kinds of Lakers, Chargers baloney tags, but only one huge, heavy two-sided tag that has room for all critical info! (They got rid of the practical two-sided bone tags and replaced them with one-sided tags with sports teams or glitter or baloney on the back side. Stupid for an ID tag that should have a plethora of contact info AND be my dogs' tickets home!) No large leather collars. Are you kidding! I was here 3 months ago, same thing. Store is smaller with very low inventory. Seems like they've dedicated half the store to grooming. I needed 2 cases of cat food and only walked out with just 12 cans instead. I went to petco again just to grab a collar , I am a professional Dog behavioralist & Trainer for over 25 years . I've worked with everything from handicap assistance dogs to police dogs. I do not appreciate getting shamed by the cashier for a collar I am buying. This person is not a professional nor should she pose her opinion as being a professional. # 1 I didn't ask her opinion. #2 how is it good business to verbally shame a client trying to purchase an item? I come here about once a month to give my dog some socialization and pick up a toy or food. This time I got there right after they opened and went to use the restroom. The bathroom was so bad it made me doubt it was forgotten. It so obviously needed to be cleaned that there is no way it wasn't noticed by a staff member. It was absolutely disgusting. Urine stains on the floor around the toilet. straight filth on the floor all over. Urine stains on the seat. Large urine puddle dried on the bottom of the toilet. Etc. read more

If I can give this place zero stars I would! I've gotten to Petco in LA with my dogs usual groomer which is where I live and never had issues. Sense I was staying at my moms in Redlands I decided to book an appointment for my dog to get groomed I called over the phone and the girl who attended me was rude automatically but I just didn't say anything. The day of my appt I brought my dog in there were to girls as soon as I checked in I heard the girl sitting on the computer tell the other girl that the girl who took my appt put me down for the wrong date and overbooked them which means more work for them. I still didn't say anything and I finish getting checked in & then I leave and I get a phone call 5 min later saying that my dog was matted and she couldn't give him a cut which I know is complete BS! I told her she just wasn't brushing his hair and she said she tried which makes no sense because she called me 5 min after I left him there. I go back and she tells me that his hair needs to be completed shaved and I need to go to the vet so they can do it for me and she even gave me a number to go. I didn't even argue I just left because I had already gotten a bad impression of them from the get go I booked my appt. they were just being lazy and not wanting to do there job , I had a brush in the car and brushed my dogs hair just fine yea there were a little tangles which I untangled when I brushed his hair, I was so upset but didn't even argue with these people because they were just being lazy and tried to find an excuse for my dog to not get groomed sense they were over booked. Which is why I didn't argue with them and just left because I could only imagine how much of a lazy job they would've done cutting my dogs hair. I was heading back to LA and called to see if they can take my dog in last min and they were able to and when I got to my usual place at the Petco in LA , my regular groomer told me that my dog shouldn't have been refused to get groomed because his hair was not matted! This place is horrible I'm glad I did not even argue to get my dogs hair groomed because I would've been more upset. So thank you for saving me time to not getting a horrible job done. read more

I would never recommend petco to to anyone I know, this is not a good quality store. Petco has people in the store that think they now what they are talking about and they don't at all. I went in to Petco and we asked the sails lady about the fish and which fish we can put together she was completely wrong! I know this because every other fish store said the opposite of this lady and I still bought fish from here I shouldnt have. She sold us a fish with ICH thanks to this we have a fish tank full of ich killing all of the fish this has happened more then once from petco which killed a 10 year old fish I will never step foot in to this store ever again and nor do I recommend this to anyone. read more

Dropped off my dog for grooming. They called and said she is ready for pick up. Arrived at petco. 10min pass by. Nobody has helped me. Usually I would never make a negative review or make a comment of a particular store to the point where It would hurt anyone, however today it was the last straw and I'm not happy about this store's manager. Dated: 4/09/2019 around 1:00pm. My wife and I went to Petco to pickup an order that we placed on this same morning. My wife went into the store with the internet printout of our order showing our purchase along with the order number and confirmation numbers etc. She, the manager told my wife that they don't have this order. It wasn't ordered and not paid for etc. There were some advertisment pictures on the printed page as well. the manager told my wife that she didn't order any of these things, (speaking of the advertisements with/ picture.) My wife showed the receipt with the 3 items that we ordered. Finally she said ok. Now she wanted to charge my wife for the items we already paid for online. this manager was the rudest person I've seen in a long time. She shouldn't be manager. She has no people skills whatsoever. I think I just need to stay away from this store and just order and ship items from their Petco online site. read more

Did a walk in appointment for my dog to get groomed. I asked them to trim my dog hair down to about a 5. Lady told me not to do it because it wouldn't look nice on my dog. Told her that's what I wanted and I also told her to just trim around his face. They called me and told me my dog was ready about an hour before closing . They called me again at 30 minutes later and asked if I was on the way cus they were about to close. I told them I was down the street. When I got there. The lady told me my dog did not let them cut his hair so they only trimmed it. And they messed up his face hair. I was upset, I've taken my dog to other groomers and they always tell me he was really good I always get what I ask them to do. I didn't notice when I was there. But not all his nails were trimmed. He didn't even look like he got a haircut, he just looked like he got a wash and blow dry. His ears weren't cleaned out either. Don't think I'll ever take my dog here to get groomed again. read more

I brought my two month old puppy here to get everything i needed for him. An employee helped us pick out everything that was essential for him. I am so very impressed by the services I received from Petco! We adopted a small puppy a few months back and when we adopted her, she had short black hair that seemed comparable to dogs that I had in the past. Over the last few months, her short fur has become long curly hair that I honestly had no previous experience maintaining. During our grooming visit, the groomer not did an excellent job of introducing our pup to the new sights and sounds of the grooming equipment, but she also gave me a bit of information about how to maintain my pup's fur in the future. My pup can be a little wild and skittish, but the groomer took her time and was patient with my pup. Ultimately, the results were great. We will be returning. read more

I LOVE the convenience of this store! The staff has always been helpful and pleasant. The self-serve grooming area is great for my short hair Dalmatian that often only needs a bath, not a fancy clip or cut. They provide the tub, hot water, shampoo, and towels! And they clean up the mess! The grooming staff is extremely helpful and treat the dogs well. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

DOG TRAINING EXPERIENCE. I have two golden retrievers boy and girl, I wanted to have them trained to obey me at all times. I signed up with the male trainer named Angel. He's been training them since pups and they're almost a year old now. He's a wonderful trainer and I recommend him for any type of training. He's focused and professional. He helped me as well as my entire family to work with my dogs. My dogs and i have accomplished a lot under his guidance. I send all my dog park as well family friends straight to him so any type of training. In my opinion ANGEL is the best dog trainer out here. read more
