My 5 star review goes out to the girl and guy working the front desk at around 4ish today. My dog was neutered today and I was in desperate need of a more comfortable cone for him. I had looked on my Petco app prior to driving to this location, just to check if the item I was looking for was in stock. I was excited to see that 2 locations had the Donut neck pillow I was looking for, especially because I needed it ASAP. I had shopped around in this store looking for other things I needed, and I did come across the one item I specifically came for but noticed the size I needed wasn't there. So I had asked the girl that was near by (she seemed to be working on stock) if they had the size somewhere in the back because it showed that it was available on the app. She proceeded to tell me, "It might be but I'm not sure because everything is boxed up back there and we're just now putting some stuff out so I don't know". I was kind of confused by her response but I left it as is. When I went up to the front, the girl ringing me out asked if I found everything okay and she was genuinely much nicer than the other girl. I told her I had a question about the donut item I was looking for, I explained to her the same thing I did to the other girl. Her response was totally different than the other girl so I was just genuinely confused at this point by the other girls response. The girl at the front counter scanned the item to check if they had it in stock and then told me she could check the back for me. The guy that was also at the counter area went to the back to double check and to my surprise he came out with it. I work in customer service so I understand that sometimes having to check the back may be a hassle, but at the end of the day you're getting a paycheck and it shouldn't be such a big deal to do so. I was a paying customer coming in for something my dog needed after his procedure. I definitely didn't appreciate the girl in the back not checking and not helping me out, but the people at the front definitely made up for it so shout out to them!!! read more

Very disappointed with my experience. The groomer, Andrew, called me after my dog bit him while he was trying to carry him, but the way he spoke to me was rude and overly emotional. I understand dogs can react when stressed, but I expected a professional and calm approach--both in handling my dog and communicating with me. Instead, the tone felt accusatory and unprofessional. I love this store because the AC works sooooo good. It is always cold, which is the way I like it. My family and I are frequent visitors to this store as We love spoiling our two Yorkies with new toys, sweaters, and other items we think they would enjoy. This store is always well-maintained, fully stocked, and clean. Employees are always happy, welcoming, and helpful. Prices for most items are very reasonable, and the selection for just about any pet is vast. Parking is available on the street and to the rear of the location. read more

I tried to get my very sweet, calm four-month-old puppy's nails trimmed at Petco. I called ahead, made sure they were available, and everything seemed fine. My puppy isn't a yappy dog at all--he's super chill, lets anyone handle him, and is basically a little angel. But the manager, Michelle, insisted that because today he's exactly four months old, he now needs a rabies shot before they'll do anything. The irony? He can't even get that shot yet because he's only two pounds and too young to actually receive it. If I had come literally yesterday, no problem, they would have trimmed his nails. Today? A hard no, just because of hitting that four-month mark. Pure nonsense--this is exactly the kind of inflexibility that just leaves you shaking your head. read more

We've been going to the grooming here for about three years now, and Danny is the best! My dog Ty always gets very excited when he goes to see Danny and practically tries to jump behind the counter. Wheaton terriers are a little bit harder of a dog to groom, but he is always come out looking very well done here. It's also a great value compared to other locations if you sign up for their Petco rewards and discount programs. Another great benefit is the easy parking! I'm disgusted by treatment of a customer today . Not me. I didn't ask for help. Although none offered. But there was a gentleman working for a delivery coming to pick up two orders. This is the way this guy lives and people like me with illnesses and sometimes immobility need these people. Especially for our pets. This man went to two different employees trying to find treats and a bone and they wouldn't help. One lady there with many face piercings was so rude to him and said to be don't worry he's an uber pick up when I said someone was asking for help. So what he's a human asking for help in an empty store. He than asked another employee girl who didn't help. Than he came to me a shopper and I found where the treats were and showed him they were out. He needed that picture and to grab an alternative or show the buyer. He kept saying oh no both his orders are not here. The second were some bones that the packages doesn't match the picture. I tried to help but didn't find. When he went to pay he asked again. When I went to pay I saw the bones right by the register. I'm a customer and I helped. The lady with the pink hair and piercings I hope she isn't a manager. Telling customers don't bother he's just with uber. He didn't speak English (showed pictures) so he didn't understand how rude she was being. Sorry do better petco. Welp, that joy was short lived. It hasn't even been 2 weeks since I posted my 5-star review for this Petco -- and today my rating has dropped from five stars to one. I was in a super time-crunch and needed to pick up some cat grooming wipes so of course, based on my last experience, I figured this was the place to go. Have never used wipes before and looked online (and yes, it was for that particular location) and saw a multitude of great choices available -- which is why I decided to go in and compare instead of just ordering beforehand for pick up. Good thing too as the order wouldn't have been fulfilled. As when I got there -- there was barely anything on the shelves. Multiple products that were listed as being in stock on the website were not available. I literally only had 3 options -- and one of them had damaged packaging with a long open slit down the side rendering it useless. I had no choice but to get *something* -- and the best option cost me 3 x the price of the ones I wanted. And checkout guy Jack? Yeah, he's no Mark. I want to use a different adjective but I'll just go with "snarky". Maybe it's only good on weekends and not a typical Tuesday? But, here's the thing, I don't like gambling with the businesses I frequent. I like consistency. In any case, this was not worth the drive. **And in response to your response comment, Petco -- It wasn't your PRICING that I found unsatisfactory, it was the fact that your website listed MULTIPLE items as being in stock when they in fact were not. Worst customer service I have ever had! From the Vet's service to the grooming salon. The manager there Jordan does not seem to care about the way her staff treat their customers either, based on the call I had with her where she seemed to tell me how her employee is correct in treating me the way I was treated. I've been a loyal Petco customer for over 12 years, regularly using their grooming services and shopping at their stores. But recently, that loyalty was completely disregarded. About three weeks ago, I discovered a $263 charge on my credit card for something called "Vital Care"--a service I did not sign up for and did not authorize. I immediately contacted Petco to dispute the charge, expecting a straightforward resolution. Instead, I was met with resistance and refusal to refund the unauthorized amount. Despite explaining the situation clearly, their customer service failed to take responsibility or offer any meaningful assistance. I've since opened a dispute with my credit card company and will not hesitate to take legal action if necessary. It's deeply disappointing that a company I trusted for over a decade would treat a loyal customer this way. Petco has now lost my business permanently. I will not be returning to their stores or using their services again. If you shop at Petco, check your statements carefully. They may be charging you for things you never agreed to. read more

I would give no stars for grooming but the front desk & employees at the store are always so helpful so I had to add stars. Basically, they do not honor their grooming appointments and are not apologetic either. Almost feels like your wasting their time. I made an appointment & arrived only for them to tell me they were overbooked and couldn't take my dog. I let them know I had an important meeting and I couldn't go home to drop off my dog. There was no apology and only a noted or blank stare from the person at the grooming department. They are Not reliable. Thankfully, I called a nearby groomer next to what a peach & explained my situation. They were able to take her & they are a cage free facility. PETCO STUDIO CITY IS ON MY NERVES. I woke up at 7:00am on a Sunday to get my dog there on time by 8:00am. NO ONE IS THERE. I wait, I order a coffee at Starbucks next door. At 8:15 someone arrives says "we will be right with you" and closes the door. I wait. The same guy comes back out and says " sorry but the stylist that you booked for your grooming appointment today is a no-show. We haven't heard from him and we haven't heard from him in a while... We do have an opening at 9:30 if you'd like to come back" WTF? I've been getting reminder messages for the last four days, reminding me to make sure that I am at the groomers at 8:00 AM with Lucy only to get there and no one can take the dog. The first time I tried to use PETCO GROOMING, I took my dog in for a bath and a haircut... And three hours later I go to pick her up and she only got the bath and not the haircut because she was "too distracted". Whaaaa??? The groomers there seem to dislike their jobs and show zero care or customer service enthusiasm. Maybe I was brought up in a different time. Had this been me giving someone that kind of news.... I would've been so apologetic, and on top of offering the 930 slot I would've offered something else to appease the customer who got up early only to be turned away. read more

I didn't have a pleasant experience with my visit to Petco for my dogs grooming (5/4/25). I arrived at 10am and wasn't helped until 10:15am because the groomer was working on a VIP dog. I was quoted a 4 hour turn around time and got a text 2 hours later that he was ready. Totally fine. When I arrived to pickup my dog it looked as if he wasn't even touched. He looks the same way he did 2 weeks ago. There was hair all over my car (which never happened) after the grooming. My dog is hypoallergenic so he does not shed . His facial hair wasn't touched. And there was stains on his butt. After a grooming. When I returned to Petco to show them and speak about my concerns about my Dog Grooming there were no solutions given. I asked for a blowout of all of the hair on him. I asked to clean the stains off. The guy at the front proceeded to tell me that they are swamped today and also my dog moves a lot so that's why the haircut turned out the way it did. I've had my dog for three years and I've never gotten a bad haircut from the multiple groomers he has went to. He also stated he cannot give my dog a full new grooming, which I did not ask for. He also said if he took my dog back in that he will miss his lunch break. The girl that did my Dogs Grooming didn't even come out to speak to me or to see what was wrong. He took my dog in and did whatever and then came back out and said he's moving too much you can speak to a manager and get your money back. There was no type of care or concern, just. Very bad service today. I understand mistakes happen, but multiple mistakes in one visit is unacceptable. Wasted my time for a horrible job. Work on customer service training and find solutions for customers especially when a service was not fulfilled at Petco's fault. read more

Had stopped getting our dogs groomed at Petco years ago as we had concerns about quality of care. We recently had an emergency on a Sunday morning and Petco was our only grooming option. We were pleasantly surprised by the staff member's professionalism and care so we started bringing our dog there for grooming regularly. We have an older dog who has mobility issues with her back legs. This is not an injury and there is nothing to be done to resolve the issue other than some joint supplements. All of a sudden after 3 months of visiting, they rudely refused to groom her unless they received a letter from our vet stating that they are treating her leg issues. Again, there is no treating of this condition. It's a common thing that happens to dogs of a certain age. I have plenty of other grooming options who require no such documentation. Don't waste my time, Petco. You should be happy we gave you a second chance to work with us. You will not be getting a third. read more

A new fish pet to keep my household thriving with more energy at home. We got a new beta fish from Petco. I was really into fresh & salt water tanks during college. I explored from having cichlids in my fresh water tanks onto welcoming salt water corals into our home. Corals are so beautiful in their own unspeakable way. They swim to a poetic flow that draws us in all the time. Their majestic colors and movement that ebb and flow through the water makes it feel like a beautiful painting that we're seeing in real time. I had the pleasure of getting to purchase a new beta fish as a new family member. They are so beautiful and responsive to your actions as you approach. worst grooming experience ever. Been going to different Petco for grooming for over a year and it's the first time that we got rejected due to our dog's cancer condition. Our golden retriever was diagnosed with hemagiosarcoma (blood vessel cancer) and had surgery back in december and now is fully recovered. She still carries cancer cells but currently is living healthily without any medical concerns and not even taking any medications, just those good old supplements for hips and joints. When the groomer asked me if she has any medical history of course I just said yes she has cancer but she's now fine. But she then did not even ask me if she needs any special care and went ahead she said Petco is not taking in any pets with cancer and will need a doctors note to clear that my dog can be groomed. I then asked her to show me the policy and they actually did. But NONE of them saying anything about cancers. Just regular protocols to keep pet safe during the grooming. (Like being leashed or refrained within a safe space etc) And then the groomer turned to another Petco employee, who also couldn't answer my question nor give me proper explanation on why my dog can't be groomed. I explained the very details of my dogs condition that she needs NO extra attention nor care for the grooming. She's not in remission or recovering from anything. She just only CARRIES cancer cells at the moment. How does that need a special doctor's note? Like how am I gonna ask my vet to just send a note to the groomer saying that this dog is ok to take a shower? It's not like my dog has skin issue or anything, the cancer cells is literally in her genes and her blood and it's not infectious at all. She's only having cancer cells just like most of the other golden retrievers! I asked the groomer that this basically means Petco is rejecting all golden retrievers or just ALL DOGS, as they may all potentially carry cancers at some point of their lives. Both the groomer and the other employee were unsure about the situation as neither of them can give me a proper reason saying why they are rejecting my dog. The groomer said Danny, the groomer manger who was not in the store btw, asked her to just check the policy regarding this situation. But again they were just looking at each other in confusion as my request was just reasonable. We left the store after seeing their reaction and cancelled our appointment on site. It's ridiculous how it went as over the last decade as a pet owner, I've never experienced or even heard that ANY pet shop rejected a perfectly walking and living pet just because they CARRY cancer cell. It's so ironic to see on the website saying Petco is fighting pet cancer when they literally REJECTED our dog for grooming just because she carries cancers cells. I guess this store only grooms dogs only if you bring a full DNA report showing that your dog is perfectly healthy with no chance of any diseases. read more

Very very disappointed in this Petco location. I scheduled a grooming appointment for 4:15 on a Sunday and chose this location due to it being the only location that had availability. Our normal 2 locations were booked out. Upon arriving I checked in with the desk and was greeted by 2 ladies, they immediately started asking questions about my dogs leg... I have a 4 year old Pug that was born with a leg deformation. I told them it was something he was born with and he doesn't know any different, he's 4 it's been that way his whole life. They asked if he had to take medicine for it, I said no. He's the happiest healthy pug, he's fine. They went in the back and upon coming out I was told they could not take my dog and fill my appointment. Very shocked and upset I asked why and they said it was against Petcos policy because of his leg. Mind you he's been going to petco for grooming for years with no issues. I questioned this and was given rude snarky responses and was kept being told this is petcos policy and sorry they won't take him. I have never felt more hurt the discrimination the employees at this location made me feel by denying my fur baby service. Petco has seen my dog for many years so it was an excuse to end their shift as I'm sure my appointment was the last one. I called my normal location after this experience and he is booked to see them Tuesday no questions, hesitations, and happy to see him. Studio city location needs to hire people who are professional, that don't discriminate, and are kind. I will NEVER go back to this location and thank god I didn't leave my dog with such unprofessional inhumane people. Emily and Adam should be ashamed of themselves. read more
