We received the certificate from Petco!

I brought my puppy for the fundamental and advanced training at Petco Woodland Hills. Chuck was our trainer and he is the amazing teacher. My puppy now knows important commands. I highly recommend Chuck at Petco dog training at Woodland Hills!

Andre, the worst "manager" I have ever seen
Fabian C.

I shop at this Petco location very often as I live nearby and have never experienced such a bad experience as I did today. I came in to the store 11/18 at around 8:45pm with an unopened bag of dry food that I had ordered earlier in the day through Instacart (the purchase was also linked to my Petco loyalty account). I explained the situation to the friendly lady, who had also greeted me when I came in, and explained that I needed to exchange the unopened bag for another one of higher price, she then asked me to select and grab the item that I wanted. After a couple minutes, I come back with the bag that I wanted to process the exchange for (which costed over $85). She pulled up my account and before completing the exchange, she needed the manager to override the exchange. This when Andre, the "manager", comes in and without even saying hello, states that he won't do the return because my proof of purchase is not valid "I am literally showing them the order confirmation and details from my phone". I tried to explain the situation and reason with him, knowing that he can do the override and stop arguing, but instead he chose to go off to his employee (in front of me) trying to make her look like she doesn't know what she is doing which really made her feel uncomfortable (I could tell by her face). If this is how Andre, this pseudo manager, treats her employees in front of customers I don't even want to imagine how he treats them when nobody is looking... Awful customer service, manners and work ethics. I hope this person is investigated and made accountable for his behavior. I will definitely not be bringing my business to this or any Petco locations anymore.

Another update because we truly believe Wynter deserves it. She has been my English Bulldog's groomer for the past few years. She is so excellent, patient, and extremely pays attention to detail. He is a senior so she really takes her time with him. I highly recommend Wynter because her professionalism never ceases to amaze us. She treats Mario like her very own thank you again Wynter for always treating our baby with excellent care.

I want the best for my puppies, so I asked so many different people where and how they trained their dogs. I received a few suggestions, but decided to do my own search...and I'm glad I did. Leo (Owner) and his amazing team of trainers TRULY care about the pups they train. Leo came to my home and wanted to meet me and my pups before I had to decide on making any decisions. After sitting down with him for about half an hour, I knew I found what I was looking for: Someone who wants me to have healthy and happy dogs. I signed up for the in-home training at first which is Leo coming to the house and training me on how to train my puppies (Archie and Charlie just turned 6 months and started with Leo and his team when they were 4.5). Very quickly, I realized I could not handle training both these puppies the way they needed to be trained. I discussed with Leo and decided to do a Board & Train. I like the schedule because I get to take the puppies on the weekends to spend time with me. Don't get me wrong, you NEED to train your pups on the weekends, but it's worth it and FUN. Archie has become the Puppy King (no offense to other puppies or their owners )). Charlie has a lot more energy, but has improved immensely! Leo's trainers are so caring. I feel my dogs get love with their training when they're not with me, and I couldn't ask for more. I see their excitement whenever I visit about improvements and milestones that Archie and Charlie achieved. They gleam with as much pride as I do. I honestly don't know where my pups OR I would be without the help of this AMAZING Team! If I could give 10 stars out of 5 stars, I would!

A few minutes later Leo called us and asked questions about the situation. Some basic tips he gave us over the phone saved our sanity until he came to our house a few days later for a free consultation. The consultation made it clear how experienced and passionate Leo is about dog training, so we decided to sign with him that same day. After one session we felt much more confident in training our dog and saw the "light at the end of the tunnel". Over the past 5 months and four training sessions, we have seen day and night improvement in her behavior. If you feel lost and out of control with how to train your dog or want to continue their training, Kelev K9 should be your first call. Leo is always ready to help out with any questions or concerns we have by text or phone call. Pricing is also extremely fair and was a worthwhile investment for us because we have our sanity back and have bonded so deeply with our dog through training. Thank you so much Leo, Breanna, and the whole team at Kelev K-9!

Teddy a sweet pup but struggled with anxiety, reactivity, resource guarding and was VERY sensitive to being touched and would often lash out or try to bite. We were really worried about how to help him and how to curb some of these bad habits we'd no doubt reinforced with our own behavior. When I called Brett for the initial consult, he was patient, understanding but also honest and direct about the time and effort it would take and the changes we would have to make to have a real impact. We were open to the feedback and committed to making a change in and out of our home. WOW. We've been working with Brett consistently for 3 months and Teddy is like a new dog. He is calmer, happier, more obedient, and much more confident and tolerate of being touched (especially on sensitive areas like his paws!). Our friends and family have all been shocked at the noticeable difference in Teddy's overall demeanor (happier and calmer!) and behavior. Our groomer asked us what had changed as he was so much calmer and happier to deal with. I want to be clear this is no "magic pill" we put in the work but with Brett's guidance and structure, we cannot believe the results. Teddy is of course still a work in progress and we have more work to do, but seeing the progress he's made in such a short amount of time with Brett's thoughtful approach has been so exciting. Brett truly understands dogs and their psychology and this makes him a true expert. Just know that part of the training process is training your pup but also training yourself to adjust your own behaviors to create a positive outcome long term for everyone. We cannot recommend Brett enough!!!

I was entirely overwhelmed and at my wit's end trying to manage her behaviors. When I hired Brett, I'll admit I fought him along the way on some of the training protocols--but in the end, he was correct about EVERYTHING. The most vital thing for difficult or frustrated dog owners to understand is that Brett's training isn't just about fixing the dog; it is primarily about training YOU, the owner. He provides an exceptional structure and leadership framework, but it only works if you are willing to check your own habits, get on board, and consistently follow through as a pack leader. His methods are incredibly kind, humane, and highly effective at correcting severe behavioral issues. Today, I am so incredibly happy with how my once-crazy dog has turned out. Thanks to Brett, Lucy is a wonderful companion who listens perfectly, handles major environment changes like moving to Downtown LA beautifully, and doesn't react to other people or animals anymore. Having her in my life has truly become the amazing journey I always hoped it would be. If you are willing to put in the work on your end, Brett is absolutely the best master trainer you can find!

This is the best decision I ever made for me and one of my dogs. I have had dogs in the past and I…read morealways thought it was fine that because they were well loved and loyal, they were pretty obedient. I thought that that was enough. When I adopted my current dog, Cinqué, I had never had a puppy as young as he was, and I was not necessarily prepared for his energy level or for some of his behavior. I researched and visited many places before I decided on CANIS. From my initial meeting, I felt comfortable, and I felt very well informed about what the short-term and long-term goals were for me and my guy. I decided on the one year program and admit I was initially taken aback at the cost, it's certainly not cheap, but after just the first round of board and train, it's been so worth the investment. I went from a puppy who, although he has always been friendly and playful, and sweet, was jokingly described as constantly being in raptor mode to a dog that I can already take out to dog-friendly public spaces. We recently went to the Lazy Dog Café, and it was actually a really nice afternoon. We received compliments from other dog owners about how well behaved he was, even though he was only a puppy! We just finished Nature Dog I, which he loved, and we both learned so much. I'm really excited to continue in all the other classes that we can participate in as part of the one year program. Having a dog that I can take into public spaces with me, travel with, and have off leash in the outdoors with absolute confidence that he's going to behave exactly as I want him to is something I never even thought was possible. While we are waiting for his second round of board and train, he goes to Day Club there. He actually cries from excitement when we pull up. When he sees his friends from class, he's so excited. Not one person on the staff there isn't wonderful. Jen was his trainer and she was fantastic! She was so great about working with me with him and keeping me informed of all the things she was doing with him so that I was able to continue with his training at home. Hunter who leads some of the group classes and the front office people, Aaron and Jeremy are just top shelf! Brent is a very hands-on owner. You will see him almost every day that you are there and he teaches some of the group classes as well. If I haven't raved enough, it should be really clear that I'm just so happy then I made the decision to work with them. I'm really looking forward to continuing Cinqué's journey there.

I am here to update my review now that I've experienced the City Dog 1 and the Nature Dog 1…read moretraining classes offered by Canis Behavior. You can find all the classes that they offer on their website along with a calendar that shows approximately a month and a half in advance so you can plan around it. I initially wanted to start out with City Dog classes but they were full so I signed Cheska up for the Nature Dog class first. Brent teaches each series and he's very upbeat and makes all the classes fun and packed with knowledge. When I took Nature Dog, I will be honest I was really nervous and didn't believe that Cheska could be trusted on a long line away from me. During the first class we used 15 foot lines to practice and 15 feet felt sooooo far away to me. I'm looking back now laughing because now I'm using 50 feet of line at the park. In Nature dog you learn how to keep your dog within your radius, allowing them to sniff and explore within that radius while perfecting your dog's recall in this class as well as being able to tell them commands from afar and they follow it from farther than right next to your side. I feel like Cheska blossomed in this class and the trust between her and I sky rocketed. When I took City Dog class we met at the Topanga mall area and this is really where you get to train in real life scenarios. At this mall you've got people walking by, you've got little kids running at you from all directions, you've got other people with their dogs who are just hanging out in the area, and more. So many good learning experiences all in one place. Brent really does go through every possible scenario of what you should do if you run into these types of things as well as how to position your dog while in public. To top it all off, you will also learn using stairs, elevators and escalators with your dog! Seeing all our dogs going up one by one on the escalators is the cutest thing I've ever seen Lol. In the end, Nature Dog was my very favorite class and I believe Cheska excels in this. Being in Nature is what animals were made for. I am already signed up for Nature Dog 2 and can't wait. As soon as more City Dog series come out I will take those as well. With these classes Cheska is becoming well rounded and she isn't confused, she seems to understand the difference of scenarios when we go out. The goal has always been to be able to take her everywhere with me, and through the help of Brent, Hunter, and everyone else at Canis, this dream has come true!

The "Out and About" experiences are so good; going to outdoor malls and parks have helped her to deal with all types of distractions. Because of this, she was under socialized. She was fearful of many things also. They ended up keeping her for 3 weeks. I had a couple "check in" one on one Training with her Trainer, Tiffany. At the first session, Stormy, was walking on leash in a "heel" position. Tiffany had also taught her "place", "stay" and "break" to release her from her "stay". Stormy was so much calmer when I brought her home. Before training, she would come in from the yard and jump over the back of the couch. If I was sitting on the couch, a few times, she landed on my head, on her way to the other side. She also jumped a lot. After coming home, she was calm inside and stopped jumping all over. It was a "joy" to take her on a walk and have her calmly maintain her "heel" position. She was much more enjoyable and was finally able to get out of"in the world"! This was entirely due to Tiffany's training. Tiffany was very good with her, very knowledgeable about dog behavior and cared for Stormy. She was professional, checked in with me to see how I was feeling about Stormy's behavior, gave helpful advice and answered any questions I had. In addition, I received daily photos of Stormy from Heather. That was awesome because I missed her and it was nice to get updates on Stormy's progress. Additionally, the Facility is very clean and everyone working there was very nice. Michael was very nice too. The groomer, Jacob, was nice and professional also. The Board and Train was expensive but after Tiffany gave me back a dog I could fully enjoy, I'd say it was worth it! Matan has a wonderful operation going there and I highly recommend them. My Veterinarian in Camarillo, gave me Matan's Card and said she'd gotten positive feedback on them. I also brought my "dog reactive", Dog, Bon Bon in for 3 week Board and Train. Tiffany, also trained her too! She did an amazing job with Bon Bon also. Bon Bon, was a challenging case for her because, of all things, she told me Bon Bon, could be a bit stubborn! LOL. Even though Bon Bon, was a completely different personality than Stormy, Bon Bon, was wonderful walking on leash when she returned. She's also not as reactive. I was even able to walk both of them together, which was a first and was also my original goal for training! My "pack walk"! Tiffany told me to wait to try to walk them together. There was no way I was getting out the door with just one! They both did remarkably well. At first Bon Bon wanted to walk ahead but I corrected her and she walked in a "heel" on my right side. I was finally able to get them both "heeling" on my left side, with Stormy closest to me. Yay! That's exactly what I wanted when I sent them both to "board and train". Finally, as a bonus, Bon Bon came home with "perfect weight"! It was all the extra work on Dog Pacer. Thank you to everyone at Matan Dog Training! You all made it a great experience for me!
