Highly recommended steer clear of this business they are dishonest and overpriced Dirk the owner charged me over $4000 to get my Eurovan running and then tells me it has an electrical problem and he can no longer work on it and tell me to take it to the junkyard then he tells me he has a customer interested in buying it He is playing games with a customer who has been around the block a few times before and knows he is a theif and dishonest. Pete B has been helping me out since my first car back in 2017. Now that I have a job that requires traveling all over Long Island they're my favorite guys to go to when I need a tune up, oil change or just an okay that everything's working right. Dirk is great and the staff are always really friendly and helpful. I also love that I can sit and wait for an oil change, it only takes about 30 minutes if you call ahead and make an appointment. I had my car towed there and I was refused service because I am a smoker and my car had cigarette butts on the floor of the passenger side and of course it smelled of smoke. I will admit that my car was not clean but I had a flat tire and needed the car for work so I didn't have time to clean it. All I asked for was a tire change and an oil change they don't really have to be in the. Car for that, so I don't understand. I feel like I was discriminated against because I'm a smoker and was flat out refused service. I was told to call the tow truck to remove my car and send it to Toyota. I told the manager that it wasn't nice what he did and he said that it wasn't nice for him for the car being In that condition. Then he said he had asthma and couldn't go in the car. I have had asthma since childhood and I've been smoking for 30 years. I think he will survive driving the car and putting it on the lift which would take a whole 5 minutes. Im an RN and have to change adult diapers, if I can do that he can be in a car that smells like smoke for 5 minutes and help a person out, they could have changed the tire and sent me on my way.. I do not want my car worked on for people that treat their customers that way because from my point of view they don't care. read more

People Beware !! been going there for a few years , But until recently took 2 cars for inspection and apparently the mechanic there is a real clown .i car he failed inspection wrote everything was bad on the car , but did no itemize anything what a joke you have to see the report to believe it.Took the car to S &B they did full inspection and i needed brakes. Passed inspection all done at a very reasonable price .Few people told me about S&B they are very reasonable they have almost 5 star rating.. PART 2 . Took my SUV Truck there for inspection told me i needed full brake job..Ok .They told me $1,550.00 !!! LMAO ..plus when you use a credit card they charge you the 4% or what ever it is ,so your looking at close to $1600.00 LOL so I took it to S & B .They confirmed i needed brakes with rotors.. $990.00 Out the door NO credit extra charge !!! you tell me $600.00 Difference ? Rip off ..BEWARE people ... Prices have gotten ridiculous. The Biggest rip was on my Mercedes , Mechanic showed me oil leaking from valve covers, Rear end leaking oil , I said that's funny i have not a drop of anything in my garage. So when i left i went to car wash undercarriage cleaned, go home cleaned the supposed oil off my valve cover and cleaned the rear ..put down a white sheet in my garage , been 6 months over 500 miles and not a drop of oil anywhere, valve covers spotless . This is all after they ripped me off on a Crankshaft sensor and oil change and charged me $1,200.00 !!! STAY AWAY read more

Dear Dirk, The days that my 1968 bus have been apart have been bittersweet. I understand that you have been kind and gentle with ,"Boomer", but I want him back. the clear patina of his paint,the roar of his upgraded type 3 engine,the hum of the new transmission and cv joints(?) bring fond memories of times past. I understand that he needed a new fuel tank and lines,I have neglected them in the past. The future looks rosy now. The 50th reunion in Woodstock shall be grand...Looking forward to our reunion. I am not sure if you would ever find a more honest mechanic. Quoted me on brake pads, rotors and a couple miscellaneous things on my pickup. Called me and said there's no way he could replace my rotors because they were perfect. Also other issues that a different mechanic told me existed were just minor things. He literally saved me $700 that many other people would have just taken from me. Also had wiring issues on a car that 2 other shops could not diagnose. They all seemed to try hard but were never successful. Again, Dirk and his crew had it 100% corrected in one day with zero issues after that. All in all Dirk is an awesome guy in my books and will get all my business. Mechanics are definitely one of those trades that are hard to find quality and honesty and this is one of those places. Excellent service, honest, reasonable business. I have been using Pete B for over 15 years. I fixed my own cars when I was younger (and poorer) so I know about car mechanics and business (own my own business). When I first started bringing them my car Pete was running the place, now his son has taken over. Great knowing he is a second generation professional mechanic. I don't know what happened to those other reviewers or if they weren't just a competitor but I can say that I've been staying with a friend in Middle Island for the past 8 months. My friend has been here for years and has always had his cars done at Pete B's and he highly recommended them to me. I've had my car serviced twice and they have been wonderful. It is difficult to find an auto repair place you can trust. It helps that the owner and his wife work there so you know they care about your being happy. They know their stuff and they are honest so although I'm moving to Portland OR in a few weeks and will not be going here again, if you're looking for a great place to take your car, this is the best experience I've had in 7 years of living on Long Island! read more

It was OK, but it took them almost 3 days to just get my sparkling plugs changed, and the labor fee is not cheap. When I got my car it was dirty and had several new scratches on it. Staff were nice, however regarding the price I won't go back again. read more
