Pete Mitchell's gets 5 star from me! I go there for the food and friendly staff. Like most people Mondays aren't my favorite but Mondays at PM are the best. I travel 30 mins for some epic tacos!! The beef tacos are my favorite but the birria tacos WOW! They are just as amazing! And on the weekends I get the burger made how You like it, don't pass on the secret sauce it's a must! Overall the food is great, you can taste the pride they put in their food! The bartenders know exactly how I like my drinks and I have my favorite girl (Nancy) make them for me. Not sure if it was a 'different chef' or change of recipe, but the hamburgers that we picked up tonight, were horrible. Medium must mean , like hockey pucks and the 'beef' tasted like it was half gyro ( lamb) and half beef. Tater tots and fries were excellent! Ketchup packets were great ! We ate less than a quarter of each burger and tossed the rest. Frozen pizza night it is. read more

First time here and definitely enjoyed it! Atmosphere is very laid back, and went crowded for a Saturday night, and our waitress was very attentive! Went there on a Thursday, had tacos and Margaritas. The tacos were delicious! Margaritas were very good, everything was measured appropriately. Wasn't too strong like most bars. Atmosphere was good. It is what it is, the food has been great all but one time I got food poisoning from bad mayonnaise. My buddies and I call that strip of bars the Frankfort 500 for degenerates Pete's being the best one of the bunch. I do like the place, I had the pleasure of living in the "Square" for 2 years so I would frequent this place. First note that this place is listed to stay open until 1am. My buddy lives around the corner so we were hoping to find a bar we could be regulars at. We came in to have a few drinks and play darts. Long story short, they closed the place down about 30 minutes early and kicked us out. We weren't the only people left either. We will not return here. Details: We were playing dart and having a good time. We were on about our 4th game and 2nd drink in. At 12:20 the bartender calls last call so we got 1 more drink each. We continue our game, then at 12:30 a guy walks in the middle of our game (mid throw and literally both a shot away from finishing the game) and turns off the light to our game... he walked away and wouldn't make eye contact with us when we said we were almost done (Note: I thought this guy was a customer. I noticed him when we walked in 2 hours earlier. He was sitting at the bar and had drinks the whole time. Never got up once except to turn the lights off). He then turned off the lights to the whole bar. No joke, the entire bar. Side notes: plays old county music, no friendly vibes, and everyone goes to Ryan's down the street. read more

We ate lunch today and the Cafe Reuben was a delicious twist of the Classic Reuben sandwich, the seasoned waffle fries were delicious crispy and not oily, and the coleslaw was very good. SIGH.. I attended a fundraiser here last night. WHAT A DISORGANIZED HOT MESS!! I'm not sure if all the blame is on PM or the Summit Hill Educational Foundation, but there were waaaaaay too many people in there!! And then they crammed in a birthday party as well!! God forbid they had a fire.. $30 for DOMINO'S PIZZA??? come on...these were adults, not 7 year olds!! I thought it would be easier to run a tab: My server wanted me to give her my credit card and put it in a file box ??! UMMMMM NOOOOOO!!! WHO DOES THAT FOR A TAB??? Food was fine and the waitress was great. Our order was screwed up. We ordered a Reuben and we got the Cafe Reuben by mistake. Onions rather than sauerkraut. No big deal. The waitress said to hang on to the tater tots, which we did. She told us that she'd bag up the mistaken Reuben for our dogs, they were only going to throw it away. A few minutes later the owner came out on the patio and told us that the waitress was new and she made the mistake. Not a big deal. She then tells us that they'd remake the sandwich but since we had some tater tots already she'd only give us the sandwich. We were kinda surprised since we didn't do anything wrong and most places when a mistake is made they redo the meal. On top of everything I asked for a little more dressing for the sandwich and was charged extra for that too. After all this I'm seriously wondering if they just scraped the meat off of the first sandwich and used it on the second??? Though we live close to Pete's, we won't be back there anytime soon. I've never been a fan of this bar. The beer selection sucks big time. I just can't overlook that. When I go to a bar it's to drink. I'm far from 21 so shock top can't be the most "interesting" beer you carry. I've never tried the food. Mostly because the whole place has a strange sewer smell that gets to me after a while. I stopped into Pete Mitchell's on a Wednesday afternoon to drink massive amounts of diet coke and grade papers. It may be strange behavior to grade papers in a bar, but I wanted snack on something too, so I wasn't in the mood for Starbucks. There were a few regulars there, chatting and watching some MLB playoff game that I didn't care about. The music was a fun mix of dance music (lotsa Lady Gaga, gotta love Gaga) and the occasional annoying country song. I got the feeling that I was the first person to ever grade papers there (at least, the first one to do it for two hours) but the bartenders were very nice to me all the same. One left and a new one came on while I was there. I would have liked a little "Susie's going home, I'm Marla* and I'll be taking care of you. Can I refill your soda?" but they said nothing during the switch. Maybe that's just me being nitpicky after working for years at a chain restaurant that would have never allowed such a thing. Oh, well, no biggie. I ordered a wrap off their $4.99 lunch menu, and it was delish. The menu said all specials were served with choice of fries or soup, and I was all set to order the soup but the bartender didn't ask which I wanted, so I decided to be happy with whatever I got (Read: I wanted an excuse to eat fries). I was surprised that my wrap came not with fries or soup but with chips and salsa. This was fine with me, though, because the chips were those taco chips with all that seasoning on them. Still, the menu should be accurate or the servers should inform the customer if there are exceptions to the sides. The wrap was worth it, though-- it was a chicken fajita wrap that had lots of flavor but no heat. All in all, I'd like to come back to Pete Mitchell's and try some other food (it all sounded good), maybe when I can have a drink because they seem to have some good specials (Wednesday it was $1.50 Miller bottles and $3.00 Long Islands). *I am making these names up. I do not know the names of the bartenders who took care of me that day. read more

The food here is excellent! Depending on what day & time you go, it can get a little loud. Usually the weekends at dinner time this happens. Otherwise like I said the food is great especially the fajita tacos. Lunchtime & dinner during the week is the best time to go. read more

We nicknamed this place Mason Jars. Its a special drink they offer there in a huge mason jar with 5 shots in each drink with a few different flavors to choose from and they are insanely good!! Staff is friendly. read more

Ok let me start by saying Shani is absolutely amazing! A friend of mine is on the keto diet and she has concocted a few cocktails that align with his diet. Not only has she been more than informative on mixology, shes just in general awesome!! As for food, I would never have thought a bar could sever such amazing steak options! By far, the lousiest joint in town. I have been here dozens of times over the years for two reasons, 1.) It is the closest bar/restaurant to my house, and 2.) Natural curiosity as to whether or not they can ever redeem themselves. The service is slow; I've waited 15+ minutes to be greeted as the only patron during lunch hours. Their staff (aside from one employee) is arrogant as though it is a highly rated steakhouse, and uses profanity to express their disapproval (because I declined to partake in a complimentary buffet). Their servers forget to check on customers at tables or the bar and even forgets to bring out drink orders after they are placed. They open late and close early, so don't trust the hours posted on their door. If you're feeling low and want to punish yourself or just want to go someplace where you can feel good about not leaving a tip- this is the place to do it. read more
