Nobody wants to get old, inherit bad genes, or have tissues attacked by hormones and autoimmune diseases. Ding! Ding! Ding! Guess who's the jackpot winner of all of the above? My recession prone gums means gum grafting surgery is required for me every few years. Not fun, and could be described as experiencing the Marathon Man dentist scene on continuous loop. Who wants to go through that kind of torture and agony? Not me. Which was why I have been returning to Dr. Russo's office on and off since 2011. Dr. Russo and his associates are very skilled surgeons, and I've never felt like Dustin Hoffman succumbing to the attacks of Sir Laurence Olivier when I go here. Note: Despite Dr. Russo's skill as a surgeon, each time I go in there, he acts like it's the first time he's seeing me. Okay. I get that it's a busy office, but before walking into the examining room, glance at the patient's chart first. Takes a few moments. You're always running late anyway; what's another minute? My last surgery was performed by his associate, because Dr. Russo was booked for several months. No big deal. I was certain that the surgery would go smoothly, and it did. After healing, though, my gums were up to their old tricks, and will need a repeat session to tidy things up a little bit more. That means repeat business for this office, and we all love repeat business from loyal customers, right? Not so sure here. Yesterday, the associate had taken the day off. My appointment was switched to Dr. Russo, and probably due to being short staffed, my time spent in the waiting room was 40 minutes. It was another 15 minute wait in the examining room. Dr. Russo walked in, and again introduced himself like it was the first time we met. He mentioned one of my current issues, like that was all he knew about me. I pointed out that he had performed several procedures on me already, but he brushed that aside, saying he'd have to go back and review the notes. Why didn't he take a quick glance through my thick chart to see that I had a very long history with his office? Does it not matter to him that I've been a loyal patient of his for over a decade? It made me feel insignificant. Like I was just a number to him. He seemed annoyed as he impatiently poked around my mouth, treating it like a lifeless lab specimen. Hello. I am a person under your sharp, probing instruments. My gums are awful. Please be gentle and have a little compassion here, will ya? As a repeat customer it was my intention to be a lifelong patient, but I feel like I'm nothing more than a throw pillow on the examining chair. My rotten gums mean more money for you to fund your expensive trips around the world. Why are you not seeing that my oral condition is money in the bank for you? Shouldn't you be looking a gift horse in the mouth, instead of treating the person with the horse mouth as an inconvenience? My horse's mouth is going elsewhere to another practice that is willing to treat me like I'm more than a throw pillow. read more

I am really happy I found Dr. Russo. I had my first examination with him yesterday and he was thorough, conservative, and gentle. He is the first person to really explain to me how inflammation, gum recession, and mobility all really work. I have a lot of dental issues and instead of capitalizing on it, he suggested we just monitor for now and said I seem stable. read more

I was very impressed with Dr. Peter Russo and his staff. The staff is friendly and helpful and made my visit very easy. I really loved meeting Tiffany,Mary and talking to Andrea on the phone. Dr. Russo is very knowledgeable and even more impressive was that he explains things so well and was very up front about his exam of my gums. I agree this office deserves more than 5 Stars. What a nice-looking office Dr. Russo has. The office smelled great and was very clean. His team was very professional and nice. Tiffany and Mary were the first to greet me. Mary Grossman was very helpful in educating me on what I need to do to prep myself for my upcoming mouth surgery. Kellie was great she cleaned my teeth and tickled my mouth with the air suction thingy. I laughed out loud. She also gave some great teeth brushing tips. Nev was awesome and x-rayed my mouth! It's a shame Dr. Russo and Dr. Braga don't screen their office staff very well. Dr.Braga was fantastic. His Staff made it a miserable experience. Tiffany is awesome and understands customer service. Ruby was rude and seemed vindictive, trying to even the score for a previous appointment I missed during a bout with the flu. Despite being aware of the need for a prompt appointment, Ruby offered a Choice between dropping everything at work to accommodate the Dr. or waiting weeks for access. No doubt Dr. Braga was unaware...The bottom line is, If I'm going to be made to wait an inordinate amount of time due to what seemed like a vindictive bitch move, I'll just spend my money elsewhere. Sorry, Dr. Braga. Update...Moments after I posted this review, Tiffany called and tried to light up my wife and gave her a dose of sh*t in defense of her co-worker. Apparently Dr. Russo and Braga have 2 office staff that don't understand the fact that they work for a service provider. One that can be easily replaced with another. So Kiss the 1,100 dollars goodbye doc. Perhaps you can consider some remedial training for your rude staffers. I will just go to another SERVICE PROVIDER that understands that service is a botton to top concept. It starts at the bottom. It matters not how good a periodontist you may be. read more

Horribly disappointed by this guy and his office. Referred to him by my previous dentist, who i have since left because of how awful my experience was. Firstly, the work he performed failed. i had a gum recession that russo worked on. The work that he performed lasted 6 months and then receded back to below where it was previously. He wrote it off as, "there's a possibility that this will happen" and didn't fix it. The most careless attitude of someone who is driven by the bottom line and doesn't care about customer service or satisfaction. Secondly, I have excellent dental insurance, and i've never had to pay more than my deductible. but without ever mentioning costs, etc, I ended up paying over $4000 out of pocket expenses for sub-par dental work that didn't even do what it was supposed to. Truly my worst experience with a healthcare provider in my life. I felt taken advantage of on price, and the work didn't even correct the issue. Look elsewhere. read more

I had a teeth cleaning and examination at Dr. Russo's office and was very nervous at first, especially due to the current pandemic. When I arrived, I was let in by the manager who was extremely nice and cute. They made sure to have only 1 patient in the waiting room at a time because of the pandemic and that made me feel safe. They took my temperature, asked me a few screening questions and sat me in a room quickly. I told her how nervous I was and she responded by reassuring me that her hygienists have been doing this for over 10 years so it will be pain free. This made me feel much less nervous. Once the cleaning began, the hygienist began by addressing my concern about the pain and told me she would use a topical anesthetic in addition to make sure I feel no pain. I loved how they listened to my concerns and the cleaning was pain free as promised. I also had a dental examination by Dr. Russo himself. He was smart, gentle, and down to earth. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time. Overall this was the best dental experience I have ever had. I have now made him my primary dental provider and suggest you do the same. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Russo's for years. I recently had an appointment that I tried to reschedule with 24 hours notice. I was informed that the cancellation policy is 48 hours and there is a$50 cancellation fee. I am on a fixed income and can't afford such outrageous fees. Just left office after first visit. Two women in the front office and BOTH actually smiled and greeted me. Dental asst was a doll and I saw Dr Russo who was wonderful! My appt started right on time and everything was organized and pleasant. I highly recommend this facility!! I hope when u see this many 5 star reviews and a few 1-2 stars u realize some people are never happy and get a charge out of lambasting someone. AND it is not the providers job to tell u what the insurance co will pay, nor can they. If u want to know what they'll pay just ask for a pre-tteatment review and voila. Over the years, and although I do care for my teeth and gums, I started experiencing pain and discomfort. My dentist suggested I visit Dr. Russo for an evaluation and when I did, I learned that I needed more extensive periodontal work. I followed through and now looking back on the procedures, I consider the money spent extremely worthwhile. The staff is very friendly and it draws you in for a "positive experience" but the actual outcome was anything but. The results were very disappointing - hardly noticeable. It was incredibly expensive - with insurance $6k out of pocket for 6 teeth. Post care the vibe was completely different. Bait and switch? I don't know. I too was referred to Peter Russo, from my dentist for my eight yr old daughter. Went filled out paper work gave them my insurance info, went to the room and waited, and waited quite a while, the room didn't appear clean looked a little in kept. After waiting like half an hr Russo can in and just told me that she should brush better and use a mouth wash that he sells for a premium. Paid for the mouth wash, and then got a bill some time latter for the visit. I called them and was told that ya sorry we don't take your medical insurance, and would have to pay, over a hundred twenty five dollars, not including the mouth wash that was recommend I paid the premium for. I would never have gone to him, and then the office staff rude. Being a single parent with two children living on a very tight budget, and the being takin advantage of over a $130 bill, that could've been takin care of, but was told it was covered. Dr. Braga performed a gum graft for me yesterday. The same evening as the procedure he called to check on my recovery. From when I arrived at the office for my initial consultation, until I left after my procedure on my second visit, everyone was wonderfully helpful and kind to me. Indeed, Dr. Russo is a specialist, very thorough, has state-of-the art tools/equipment. He is very competent and efficient in his examination and keeps a detailed record of it. He provided me with the results of his exam, his evaluation, and his recommendation, all very reassuring and with confidence. I followed all that he said.
