First, the medical assistant that came to take us back for x-rays never introduced themself or greeted us; they just hovered over our shoulder for a few minutes asking us questions about the magazine we were looking at and what was on my family member's shirt? Then quietly standing there, still hovering. We were really confused and uncomfortable. Once we finally were asked to go back, we did the x-rays and met the doctor. Dr. Park had the same off-putting and unwelcoming energy as the assistant. He did not introduce himself and for some reason was confused who the patient was when I was clearly sitting in the patient chair. He had an attitude any time me or my family member had questions about the procedure because he literally didn't explain anything unless we asked, but would be annoyed because "he was going to say that." It was like he was annoyed with having to do his job properly. He then said that a CT scan was necessary (an additional $285 more than I was told I would be paying for a normal x ray) just to find out that the issue he was concerned about was actually not an issue. The medical assistant was snappy too when directing me through the CT scan (rude). Throughout the consultation, Dr. Park was also very degrading when speaking about my oral health; trying to exaggerate how bad it is that I haven't gotten my wisdom teeth out yet and that I probably have bad oral hygiene because of it, which is far from the truth. I take excellent care of my teeth. He was very judgmental and nothing about his person made me feel comfortable asking more questions or having him or his assistant perform surgery on my mouth. He was just selling the whole time. Also, the office itself isn't well kept. When you walk in, the waiting room looks relatively well maintained. But when you get to the examination rooms, the patient chair was broken and small, the walls had dirt scuffs on them, the equipment table was cheap and unorganized...Everything just looked incomplete and unsatisfactory for an oral surgery facility. It was a disappointing and stressful experience. Improvements need to be made in their office. But I will say, the front staff seemed kind and professional.

I ended up having to schedule a last-minute emergency procedure to get them removed because I just couldn't take the pain anymore. Not only did California Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center get me in on such short notice, but the entire team was incredible. This was my first surgery ever, and even though it was a relatively minor procedure, I was honestly pretty nervous. Everyone was so kind, patient, and reassuring, and they made the whole experience feel so seamless. Thank you to the doctors and staff for taking such great care of me and making me feel comfortable every step of the way. I truly appreciate it more than you know. If you're looking for an oral surgeon, I can't recommend them enough. My doctor was Dr. Arcan and she was wonderful!

From April to August it took to heal I was desperate to get her help and had to go to another oral surgeon who finally corrected the problem after I didn't feel confident with the original office after 3 follow ups to see if he could help her. The second option Dr finally was able to help My daughter but unfortunately it was 2200 later we had to pay out, about the same to take the wisdom teeth out. The only thing I can say that this office where she got her wisdom teeth pulled reimbursed is 500 so it was something but I really wish this Dr would of been more caring to help us out to correct the issue. I hope he is more sensitive in the future.

I went and saw Dr. Jun, as he was highly recommended and I'm so glad I did! He made me feel at ease about my concerns and feelings of being nervous and anxious about the procedure. He also has such a great and caring team, whom I appreciate dearly! The front gal, Melissa, was so sweet and very clear when presenting fees. The back office staff was also amazing! Leasa and Natalie have such a warm and caring demeanor, by far the best nursing duo!! They both definitely made my experience a good one. The office manager, Kellie, was also so vey nice and caring. I had some laughs with nurse Tony before my procedure as well, he was so great! Dr. Jun did an amazing job with explaining everything that was about to happen, which I so appreciate! He even called me a few hours after my procedure to ensure I was okay and answer any questions, I loved the personal approach!! The office itself was very clean and they have the most up today date technology! The X-ray machine was pretty cool!! All in all I had one of the best dental experiences at Surf City OMS! It had been 10 years since my last recommendation to some other oral surgeon, and had led me to believe... wisdom tooth extraction is a scam! At least that other oral surgeon made it look that way, they didn't seem like very honest people. Fast forward to present day, my wisdom teeth fully developed, and DEFINITELY not having enough space in my mouth for them. So long for the straight smile I suffered for 2 years with braces for :( I thought let me give this a real shot. A True try. I visit Dr. Berrios at the Costa Mesa location for a consultation. The ENTIRE appointment was so professional and seamless. He explained everything in terms I could understand, explained the situation, and what an extraction would entail. He also quelled my concerns about the so called wisdom tooth hysteria that happens only on social media, that that's actually a highly improbable scenario. I felt relieved and thoroughly informed about what was next. I had 2 uppers, 1 lower with a soft impact, and 1 with a hard impact (I think is what it's called). I scheduled my actual extraction for later that week at the HB location. The whole procedure felt like it took less than an hour. And what followed was a pretty speedy recovery. Dr. Berrios called us to follow up that night to check in if everything was feeling okay. The customer care is through the roof here! I cannot recommend this place enough. Dr Telles is patient centric & giving care is his utmost priority; he left his family dinner and told me to be at his office within 30 mins. My son crashed on his bike, knocking out his front teeth and dislodging others, within hours they were back in place, and we had a path forward to keeping them. We contacted his office after hours and they responded in minutes. Within 30 mins he had his amazing team there and were doing surgery within the hour. I cannot write the amount of gratitude that I have for him and his staff, he has a customer for life. He even followed up the next afternoon to see how my son was doing if he needed anything. I called other Oral surgeons, and they couldn't be bothered or sent me down dead-end paths to fix this issue. Dr Telles immediately had a plan and fully executed that plan. On multiple occasions, the office manager became defensive when we questioned charges for services. We were repeatedly asked to pay a copay, despite our insurance card clearly stating that our plan has NO COPAY. Each time, I contacted our insurance company directly to verify the charges. The office manager was rude to both us and our insurance company representatives. During one conversation, we were told that they would no longer accept our insurance because they "don't make enough money" from our plan. As a result, I had a scheduled cleaning canceled. I completely understand that dental offices have the right to choose which insurance plans they accept, including HMO plans. However, it is concerning to be told our insurance was dropped simply because we questioned fees and because the office felt they were not making enough money. At this point, I am trying to verify whether the office is no longer accepting any HMO plans at all, or if we were specifically excluded for questioning the charges. Very disappointed with how this situation was handled.

My previous doctor said I'd need a second biopsy if this happened so I set up an appointment with Dr. Rick Berrios. Dr. Berrios essentially told me I needed to go back to my old doctor and talk to him. I tried to explain he's not in my network anymore and was told I needed a second biopsy if I was experiencing what I was currently experiencing. He said "maybe if you write him a nice email". I was FLOORED. I spent almost $100 for this visit. I ended up choosing a new doctor who did do a second biopsy and at 31 years old, I was diagnosed with cancer. If Dr. Berrios took me seriously and actually wanted to help me, I could have had this diagnosis back in September. I'm appalled and heart broken by this.
