Was lucky enough to get an appointment with Dr. Hyun…read more The office practices safety procedures due to COVID-19 (masks, hand sanitizer, limiting patients, they wear face guards, masks and gloves, covered trays, rinsing with alcohol based mouth wash,I saw them cleaning my room after I left it) and I am glad they do. Bad on my part because I have not addressed a dental problem that ended me up where I am now. Dr Hyun found the source, explained and showed me the problem and performed procedure to remove the dead nerve. I will need an implant. The entire staff was professional, friendly, efficient and helpful. The office, overall, is small, but comfortable and efficient and that is fine. Dr. Hyun explained a lot as my exam went along and took the time to answer my questions. I learned a lot. Dr. Hyun also comforted me at the points where I was anxious and bit of discomfort (not close to the pain that kept me awake the previous days/nights), which has never happened to me before, so I am grateful. I wish I had found Dr Hyun years ago. If you are looking for a dentist, do not delay as it only gets worse. I have been thru a lot of pain in (torn ACL and lower abdominal surgery). Dental pain is worse because it radiates to other parts of the body, more long lasting, you can't eat the way you want, and has more damaging effects. And mine could have been prevented with a good and caring dentist like Dr. Hyun. Don't delay your dental health.

She took the time to answer her repetitive questions and calm her fears about having a tooth fragment removed. She was EXACTLY what my daughter needed to get through the appointment without a meltdown. We have seen Dr. Frank a number of times as well who is also very gentle, patient and kind. For starters, the practice itself is quite a well-oiled machine; everything is super top of the line. While getting my x-rays taken, I started giggling idiotically as the images appeared on the monitors in front of me in the exam room. Despite all this, I never got the sense I was on a conveyor belt to cash register. I found everyone to be quite warm and gregarious. Dr. Miller, in particular, is lovely. She's very personable and polite. She frequently stops to make sure you are comfortable and does her best to ensure your visit to the dentist is not an awful experience. Having survived some really tough dentists and orthodontists in my time, I really do recommend her and her practice to others.

I actually like having my teeth cleaned and am fascinated with people who have the stomach to delve into other people's mouths, funky breath, rotten teeth and all with out gagging excessively. It had been some time since I'd visited a dentist due to lack of good dental insurance. My last visit to a dentist was in 2011, and I visited a neighborhood clinic type place to have a root canal done. It wasnt done well, but it was what I could afford at the time. The office was clean and the docs/technicians were pleasant so I had no reason to really complain. Well I could complain that the root/crown has become a food trap, but you get what you pay for, right? Fast forward 3 years to yesterday when I visited Citidental. I made my appointment 3 weeks prior to meet with Dr. Miller and was pleased when I arrived in the office. It was stark and sterile (but in a good way), which immediately put me at ease because of the cleanliness and modernity. The setup made me feel as though whoever put this establishment together wanted their customer to feel as though they were in efficient, reliable, and clean hands. Filled out my new patient paperwork, handed it in, and in less than 10 minutes I was escorted off to the exam room. Hung my coat and bag up and Dr. Miller introduced herself, asked me why I was visiting her and what my concerns were, then the tech began the xray process. I was comfortable in the chair which moved so smoothly you can hardly feel when they recline it. There was some "Halo" from Beyonce coming through the surround sound, and I was chillin! Homegirl put the little x-ray/bite down thingy in my mouth and can I tell you I was blown away at seeing the actual x-ray of my teeth pop up on the screen in front of me within seconds of her taking the shot? I mean, I saw the flatscreen tv on the wall and thought nothing of it at first. The tech mustve thought I crawled out of a hole in the wall because I was so excited about seeing the x-ray on the screen, you wouldve thought I'd never seen a television before. I was used to having x-rays done in one room while the tech walks in and out to another room to press a button leaving you alone to take in all the radiation. You'd be lucky if you ever saw the film if the dentist chose to share the images with you. She took x-rays of all of my teeth, took about 7 to 10 minutes. Dr. Miller showed up and explained in detail what work needed to be done and answered any and all of my questions. She then said she was going to take pictures of my teeth to get more insight into what was going on in my mouth. I wasnt sure HOW she planned to do that, but when I saw that little tube with the light on the end go into my mouth and pictures of my teeth popped up on the screen, I was again blown away. (shutup, stop judging me). When she was done, she went into detail about what we were seeing on the flatscreen and explained what our next course of action would be to get my teeth in tip top shape. Dr. Miller cleaned my teeth and advised me to schedule an appointment to have a deep cleaning done next month. She let me know that she does Saturday appointments - I couldnt love her more for that! Needless to say, I booked my appointment and also booked my husband and daughters to visit her as well. If you're looking for a great dental facility and a great DDS, I highly recommend Dr. Miller and Citidental. There are other docs in the facility, but I can only speak on Dr. MIller's behalf. She is a fricking rock star, and has a great disposition that will leave you at ease and confident that she knows what she is doing.

He is defensive. As another reviewer mentioned he is very impressed by and will constantly mention his famous or wealthy patients. (Who really cares?) . His materials and equipment are outdated. His procedures are extremely painful. Because I prepaid for a lot of work that was in partial stages of completion, and even though I was terrified to continue with him, I stayed and finished the work and suffered with banged up ripped gums and traumatized mouth tissues from excessive novacaine administered with huge needles repeatedly jammed into my mouth that took up to 40 minutes each time to numb me. Each impression for temporary crowns burned my gums and I had to wait weeks to heal before the next torture session in Dr. haber's chair could continue. The only thing Dr. Haber did not do was waterboard me. And, dr. Haber had a the unmitigated gall to ask me to bring the molds back and forth to the lab 10 blocks away so he didn't have to pay for a messenger service. Dr. Haber also has a most interesting mania. He blames you, the patient for the pain he inflicts. Now that I have started seeing another dentist, I realize just how atrocious Dr Haber is. Technology has changed and the procedures that dr. Haber performs can be done faster, more efficiently and without pain, by professionals who actually are concerned with their patients' comfort and wellbeing. I truly apologize for being so mean, but I hope I can help just one person avoid the unnecessary pain, the misery and the humiliation by staying away from Dr. Haber. . On the plus side, his front office staff, especially Ethel, is warm, compassionate and efficient.

Dr. Portale explained that it would be necessary to extract 8 upper teeth, put posts for implants in, have a temporary bridge made, and then the permanent bridge would of course be last to be put in and adjusted. He requested a little over $19,000 for these services. A 10% deposit was made in haste, but after some thought, my mother decided that his plan to do all that work at her age was too much to go through and wanted a simpler solution to help with her daily living and of course for aesthetics. I called the office and requested my mother be refunded the deposit. After 12 days a portion was returned and it was explained by Dr. Portale himself that the portion he kept ($1100) was for the office visit (She was in his chair for 10 minutes while he temporarily affixed her broken bridge). Dr. Portale stated that my mother had infections in her mouth and that I would ultimately be responsible for the consequences and that he knows a few people that died from mouth infections (My mother had open heart surgery several years ago and is still on blood thinners, she also is suffering from Alzheimer's dementia, so any infection detected needs to be treated immediately). Ask yourself how and why, if she had infections in her mouth, he would let her leave his office with no follow-up or prescription for the infections? As a medical professional the responsibility to consciously not treat what he claimed to be infections in her mouth is a clear breach of any medical professional's ethics. Maybe it was because there are no and were no infections! I had this confirmed the next day by an emergency room Ph.D. who did her blood work and other testing. Dr. Portale's response to that was, "Well what medical school did you go to?, Was he an emergency dental doctor or a medical doctor?", and then proceeded to negate the doctor's findings and blood work results because he was not a dentist, he stated "they don't know anything about the mouth and teeth". Yesterday, it was confirmed by another Nj State Dentistry Board dentist that there are no infections in my mother's mouth. Dr. Portale is THE most unprofessional, unethical, pompous, rude, arrogant, money hungry, condescending liar I have ever had the unfortunate circumstance of dealing with. He speaks with patients and their families as if they are below him because he went to dental school. How he lays his head down on his pillow and sleeps at night knowing how he disrespects and scams his patients and their families is beyond my imagination. He should have his license revoked and never be able to practice dentistry again. I'm hoping to help this process by contacting the NJ State Dental Board and look forward to providing the recordings of Dr. Portale putting us down, cursing at us and finally hanging up the phone without a chance to respond after he felt painted in a corner with the questions we had regarding the infections he insisted my mother had in her mouth. This review is of no reflection on the office staff. The staff that works for Dr. Portale are a group of sweet, caring and professional individuals - a stark contradiction from Dr. Portale. Please research by checking all of the reviews, the NJ State Board of Dentistry complaints and the NJ State Division of Consumer Affairs complaints that were filed regarding Dr. Portale and then get a second opinion.

Great care from the very professional administrative staff and the Dental Hygienist. Dr. Franzetti put me at ease and he has a great "bedside manner". Additionally, while speaking to him inside his personal office, I noticed that he has won many awards and accolades for his outstanding work as a Periodontist! He presents and lectures frequently on specialized periodontal topics and he is graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry and was a long time Dental Professor at NYU School of Dentistry. I stopped going to her because she made going to the dentist a living hell. Each experience was traumatic. According to Google, this location is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Thank god. This place should have never been open to begin with and Dr. Juliet Murphy was terrible. She now has an office in Rego Park somewhere, but honestly, just avoid her at all costs. Since my first visit with her, she gave such an attitude. With every procedure I had done, she manhandled me every single time. I understand that some procedures require a lot of pressure to really get in there, but the way she went about each out was horrendous. She even once said that my "teeth were too strong" and that I need to lay off the calcium because doing these procedures were tough. And no, she wasn't joking. What dentist finds strong teeth a problem? How does that even make sense? Allllllll of the work I got done from her years ago, now has to be re-done. I went to 3 different dentists since then and each one said that she did a terrible job. She gave me 2 root canals and both required crowns. But because she did not do a thorough job on removing all the infected parts, both teeth became infected and required extractions later down the road. Complete waste of time and money.

Any time I went there I would always make sure to be there 15 minutes early and would always end up waiting over an hour to be seen. The ego of the dentists are so out there that you feel so bad about yourself. I would tell them the area where I was feeling pain was near an area they did work an was yelled at and said to me " your not a dentist... So don't tell me where the pain is or that it's where I did the work" I do not recommend this place even though from the outside it looks great and professional... It's far from it!
