The task was enormous - at least to me it certainly had sounded overwhelming. But Dr. G's incredible patience and thoughtfulness, and the respectful manner in which he explains everything - treating you as a partner rather than simply a patient - made me choose him over two other doctors I had been considering. And I am so happy I did! Today, after many months or our collaboration I am in a very different place: medically, aesthetically, and emotionally. What's also very important to me is that Dr. Gerskowitz looks at the patient and his/her health in a integral way, which so rare at our time of infinite specialization. He is a real master. His approach is careful and intelligent, and what they call "bedside manner" is superb: once you are in his office, you immediately feel at ease. Dr. Gerskowitz is simply the best dentist I've seen in my life and one of the very best doctors of any specialization I've encountered. I just wish I found him earlier. The staff is equally great - I use this office now for my general dental maintenance and checkups. Everyone is knowledgeable and friendly. I normally go to the River Edge office, but have been to the Wayne location, too. Dr. G.'s practice is the place I recommend to my friends and family - that says it all. The young lady dentist assigned to me was very inexperienced. She extracted the molar by chipping and hacking away where she eventually removed the molar in pieces. I ended swallowing bits of the molar. In that visit, since I had insurance , this place did anything and everything to max out as much as they could from my insurance. I was told that 25% of the bill had to be paid upfront, which was $588. That night I bled quite a bit and had tremendous discomfort. The next day my face was swollen and I had a slight fever and realized something wasn't right. I When to another Dentist to get to the bottom of why I was bleeding so much and had this puffiness and why I had all this discomfort. Was told that the reason I bled so much was because the stitching done at this Avant garde place was because it was done on one side of the gum and that the stitching should've have been done in a cross road method as opposed to one side of the gum and the grafting to cover the hole in the gum area was not there. Was also told that I also had an infection as well and was given a prescription. I ended Spending an additional $750 to correct this mess done at Avant garde. To add insult to injury, no pun intended, Avant garde wanted another$1,590. I left skid marks at Avant garde. As mentioned, it was a horrible experience. Stay away...

The filling came out again and this is where I had to look for a different dentist and found Dr. Feder! First off, staff was great! Friendly and welcoming and made me feel at home. Andrea was very attentive to me preparing me with Xrays and getting me ready for the Dr. Feder. Dr. Feder was attentive, engaging and very informative. He took care of not one bad filling but two on two different teeth. He explained every step as he was working on my teeth and gave me enough breaks were I wasn't uncomfortable. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Feder and his staff. Night and Day from my previous dental experiences and I can honestly say I found my new dentist. Highly recommend.

One fill in and an implant later we are just about done. On my first visit i got a cleaning, ex-rays and a full dental plan. Also they were very detailed in the cost and plans to get it paid for that worked for you. Every appointment I felt like they made significant progress in knocking something off the list and there was no time wasted. My past dental experiences were all like you need this and that and we will do it " next time" or they spread the work out over a ton of appointments that never work with your schedule. Here I can get in on a Saturday, and if they have time they do all they can to get me taken care of. My husband and I are now clients and my son goes to the pediatric dentist downstairs. I have had a temp crown ( fit great and stayed on), a perm crown that is great, an extraction... no pain and the after was very manageable, cleanings, and x-rays and once everything is perfect I will likely try a whiting service !
