Happy Hour Review Only (particularly for watching a sports game). I was in the area and found this place while searching for a happy hour that had lots of tv screens to watch the World Cup game (US vs Bosnia and Herzegovina). We lined up right when they opened and got a booth table (there are tons of tvs at almost every angle so most, if not all the seats have a view). The food wasn't anything special but I was super impressed at the prices and variety offered during happy hour. It's getting harder and harder to find a restaurant that has a decently priced happy hour that doesn't just have $10 truffle fries as their "happy hour." We ordered a bunch of the food items but the Wings were my favorite (4 wings with celery, carrots for $5), while the Eggplant Bites were my least favorite. I love eggplant but this was way too sweet and all the different flavors were quite weird. read more

We've enjoyed Peter B's so many times in the past and decided it would be fun to return now that it's been brightened up and modernized. The place was not busy which is always a plus. Sadly we sat and sat, waiting for someone to even ask us what we'd like to drink but it never happened. As we headed for the door, the apparent server appeared, perplexed that we had been unwilling to wait fifteen minutes for his assistance. Fantastic family-friendly spot with great beer and healthy options! We visited Monterey for a family trip and stayed at the Portola Hotel. This brewery was just a short walk away, and it was the perfect find! The staff were incredibly friendly and upbeat, making us feel welcome right away. They were especially great with our kids. We tried a flight of 9 different local craft beers, and every single one was delicious. Plus, the prices were very reasonable for the quality! The food was a pleasant surprise. Usually, brewery food can be quite heavy, but they had plenty of vegetable options. It felt great to have a healthy meal that was still seasoned perfectly to pair with the beers. Fast friendly service and a great place to watch a game! We enjoyed their happy hour menu! The roasted eggplant was sweet and savory and delish. Locals love this place and can't blame them. This was an unexpected gem. Located next to the Portola Hotel & Spa, this brewery offers happy hour 7 days a week (not just weekdays). $5 happy hour food menu with $5 happy hour beers; you can't beat that. People come here to watch the game and it was packed when I stopped by. Ambience: family friendly, very welcoming; great sports bar with TVs located throughout. Located just outside of the Portola Hotel and Spa, and offered both indoor and outdoor dining. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and live music. Our waitress was incredibly nice, but maybe a little too comfortable. She was at our table for longer conversations than we had energy for and if we hadn't been traveling all day, we might have felt differently about it. She even stayed to watch us try a dish then lingered for more conversation. She later placed a hand on my daughter's back, which we recognize is a way of communication for some people, but it made my daughter uncomfortable. The restaurant had an extensive list of beers so I ordered a flight of catrina, no maiden, sakura and spice lab 4. Of the 4, I liked Sakura the most and spice lab the least. We ordered their Kobe sliders, clam chowder, California club and shrimp ceviche. The Kobe sliders weren't spectacular, but they tasted good. Juicy and seasoned. The clam chowder looked and tasted like prepackaged soup. I guess I expected better given the area we were in. The California club was the winning dish. The bread was lightly toasted, but still soft and ingredients tasted fresh. The shrimp ceviche was"wow" and not in a good way. Overall, the dish needed seasoning and heat. The sliced radish tasted as though it was pickled in dish water. One bite and whole dish was ruined. We paid $115.87 with tip which was incredibly reasonable, but don't think we would make a return visit. read more

Came here for their soft opening with family friends of the hotel manager and it was excellent! Everything we ate was delicious, with fun twists on classics that elevated the dish (like a goat cheese fritter with the strawberry salad and bacon/crab/corn clam chowder). The standouts were definitely the lobster Mac and cheese and the berry crumble tart, but you can't go wrong with any choices! The drinks were excellent too with a great selection of beer and cocktails. Marvin was a great and attentive server and Rebecca, the restaurant manager, came and talked to us for a while and was so sweet. Overall, incredible experience and a great opening! Came here randomly to watch the playoff game. Our server Robert was fantastic and we enjoyed the food, drinks and ambiance.

Limited review as I only went there for drinks shortly before closing. Place looks modern and clean. Good selection of beer. The food menu did look good, but we didn't have anything to eat. This may be a seasonal thing, but we were staying at a hotel nearby for work and could not visit this place until Thursday! It was closed MON-WED. 3/3 - Portola Hotel & Spa Started the evening at Jack's where Juan made an excellent Cadillac margarita -- absolutely delicious. After that, we headed over to Peter B's to watch the game, where Alex the bartender greeted us and made us feel welcome. It didn't make much sense to have live music at a sports bar on game night, but Zack was really great and did a fantastic job. Victoria and Spencer were amazing -- attentive and friendly throughout the night. Andy, the busser, kept everything spotless -- no dirty dishes left on the table. Went to happy hour August 1st. First time back since they remodeled the place. A bit disappointed w/the chicken wings. They weren't that great. If you had the previous "wing man", these are definitely not it, (lol) it's a wet rub. U get 4 wings for $5. The ahi & cheese curds were the best thing I ate on HH. Had a couple mango ciders during HH & those were great. The layout is definitely different from previous. Can't really see the tv if you're sitting against the wall which is disappointing. We had dinner here last night, mostly because we saw that they were dog friendly and I wanted a beer. They allow dogs inside and of course outside, if you have your furry friend with you, this is the perfect spot. Spencer, our waiter, was so awesome. He was so helpful not only with the menu but also with recommending us a breakfast place for the next morning. The place looks amazing, is clean and sleek. We sat outside on one of the round tables with a fire pit in the center, it was a vibe. I had the classic burger and my fiance had the sweet heat sausage pie. Good cheese curds, like a spiced up bite-sized mozzarella stick. The Pretzel and Sausage with cheese and mustard was a miss. The cheese sauce was flavorless and oily. Great food, great service and a great experience! Went with my boyfriend and his mom and had Victoria as a server, she was excellent! We had been having a rough afternoon trying to find somewhere that accepted dogs, and decided to try Peter B's. They were so friendly and even had options on the menu for dogs to eat too. Nice happy hour from 4-6pm and 9-10pm. We tried a beer flight, Gilroy garlic fries, and the bf had the Kobe sliders. Beer flight: 4/5 - we got a nice selection, it was good. Gilroy garlic fries: 2/5. Needs some work and def more garlic. Too oily and lacked a garlic flavor. Kobe sliders: 4.5/5. He would order it again. He loved chipotle aioli sauce with the grilled onions on the sliders. Server: 5/5 - Didn't catch his name. We came in late and he was so helpful with our questions. Decided to try this restaurant and bar and it ended up being a great choice. We came during happy hour at night 9-10PM on a Friday and I expected it to be packed but it was not at all. We were kindly greeted and quickly seated. A big shoutout to our server Justin, he was extremely attentive, kind, and helpful. Forgot the drink names but they were good and strong. We got 2 items off the happy hour menu: cheese curds, and mango habanero wings. Both were fire, especially for the price of 5 dollars each. My gf got the classic cheeseburger which she liked, but I was not too big a fan of it. I got a pepperoni pizza which I was craving and it hit the spot real nice. Pretty solid portions. 4 food items and 2 drinks with tip included came out to about $105. There was a good vibe in there and everyone seemed to be having a good time.
