Short ribs braised in Guinness. Ummmmm.
    Liz T.

Such nice people! The bartender/server has a never ending smile. The atmosphere is cozy, especially on a cold evening. We each had the short ribs braised in Guinness - yum! The ribs were so tender, veggies cooked to perfection, and mashed potatoes rounded out a delicious meal. We're going back.

This isn't your average Irish pub. Food, drinks and staff are top notch! Thoroughly impressed with the quality of their food. They have a drink called Mexican candy and it's ohhh sooooo mouth watering delicious! The beef and chicken sliders are incredibly tasty! We also had the short ribs! 10/10!

Absolutely Amazing Experience at O'Callaghan's! My husband and I have visited O'Callaghan's on two separate occasions, and both times were nothing short of wonderful! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The host and waitress were quick to get us seated and made sure we were taken care of right away. The food came out promptly, fresh, and delicious. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion size. You can really tell they take pride in what they serve. And the drinks, wow! Their margarita and wine were to die for. Perfectly mixed, refreshing, and the ideal way to complement the meal. Overall, O'Callaghan's has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Between the friendly staff, excellent food, and amazing drinks, it's the perfect place for a casual dinner or a relaxing night out. We can't wait to go back!

Food arrived quickly and portion size was fair. Taste was mild, service polite, overall a standard three-star dinner.

The fried chicken sliders on Hawaiian rolls was fantastic - a lot of flavor with a nice soft bun creating a great texture! The steak fries were hardy and not overly fried. The clam chowder was not chunky but it was creamy and tasty. The pear and beet salad was nice and fresh with the perfect amount of dressing. Drinks were great - I washed all of the above down with a Bombay Sapphire tonic and a Guinness. Cesar was our server and was great - he bought out water bowls for all our dogs on the outdoor patio that overlooks the plaza. Very chill and relaxing ambiance here - I'll definitely visit the next time I'm in town!

Our waitress Rachel was great and took good care of us. We ordered the French dip (added Swiss, onions, and mushrooms) solid sandwich, though it could've used a touch more salt. The real star though, was the fish and chips. Genuinely some of the best I've ever had. Lightly battered, flaky, perfectly cooked. The vibe lands in that sweet spot of upscale casual without crossing into fine dining, comfortable but elevated. Highly recommend if you're passing through Carmel. We'll definitely be back.

The fish and chips is the ultimate meal. The burger was savory, soft and creamy just he right amount. It perfectly paired with the Talbott pinot noir they recommended. The only comment is make is the amount of French fries that were served with the burger. The plate was a lot larger looking because a sparse amount of fries was served alongside. Maybe add a little more next time just to balance it off. The servers/bartenders knew their stuff. They provided what they could in terms of what was popular and well liked. They said both items we ordered were the most popular. The fish and chips have won best fish and chips 3 years in a row. I would agree with this since I usually am not wowed with this dish. I couldn't resist ordering a dessert. The applied tart with vanilla ice cream was so satisfying. Overall service, food quality and experience was very good. If return over and over again for this same food and experience. If I could give 10 stars I would. Carmel and Brody's is a new destination.

Yet the ambiance, service, and food are very good! I love the various aspects of the decor, as well. Other than parking challenges on a busy night in the downtown, we were lucky to get a table for 5 relatively quickly, as this place isn't that large, with some additional bar seating, and it seems very popular. 5:30 was a great time, as we watched the waiting line grow longer after we were seated. Our server, Michael J., did a great job of greeting us, providing menus, and taking initial drink orders while we decided what to try. We decided to try BBQ honey wings, fried artichoke hearts, and onion rings for appetizers. The main courses were two orders of kids' cheese pizza and tater tots, a small dinner salad, a cup of New England-style clam chowder, and a NY Steak sandwich. The food came in a reasonable time, with appetizers and salad first, then the rest. The apps were good, but the onion rings were a bit greasy. The honey wings were well-liked, as well as the artichoke hearts, which, strangely, were not oily like the onion rings. Yummy! The cheese pizzas paired with tater tots were certainly different, but the pizza was more like a reheated frozen pizza. The tots were okay. The NY Steak sandwich was good as well, with a side of steak fries - obviously! Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would definitely consider dining here in the future when in town.

I was so thrilled to check this pub out especially with our doggie, Meatball the Bulldog! How perfect right? A Bulldog at The Bulldog Sports Pub. We snagged the last available booth, and it had crumbs on there. Not clean. SMH. I went to the bar to order some drinks for my boyfriend and me since he left his wallet in the car. It was raining that night, and we parked several blocks away. The service was okay. I remember the guy bartender said $29something, but then he charged me $30something. I got the Jalapeno Margarita while my boyfriend had the Tito's Mule. My drink was very sweet with a kick of jalapeno while his was pretty good. They had music playing. It seems that there is a modern jukebox where you can pay to pick a song. There was one pool table for people to play. So many people came up to pet Meatball and give him so much attention. He absolutely loved it! There was one guy who asked if he can say "Hi" to Meatball, and we said that it was okay like we normally do. This weirdo was basically making out with Meatball; not cool at all man. Then Meatball flipped on his back, and he was holding Meatball. My boyfriend told him to let go of Meatball. It was such an uncomfortable interaction. Not normal at all. He even said, "This is my NYE kiss!" SMDH. The guy sat down at a table that is across from us, and he kept looking at us. We quickly finished our drinks, and then we left to ring in the new year at our hotel lobby instead. We should have just hung out in our hotel lobby instead of going out; it was much better there.

The meat and vegetables were hot and flavorful, though the mashed potatoes scooped on top like ice cream had an unusual presentation. What bothered me was the service and the surprise charges. The restaurant seemed understaffed and service was slow, although it was busy and we were patient. We asked if one of the TVs could be changed to a World Cup match and were told it couldn't be done. Later, another TV far from us was changed to the World Cup game, which made that response confusing and frustrating. I was also surprised to find an automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill. We were a family of five, which I would not consider a large group, and we were not informed of the charge in advance. The menu referenced an automatic gratuity for groups of six or more, which did not apply to us. I normally tip at least 20%, so this wasn't about the amount--it was about transparency. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and unexpected charge left me with a negative impression. I won't be returning.
