Came here for a friend's birthday weekend and had such a fun time despite it not being super crowded at night. Recommend doing the $15 mini golf, which is the mini courses on the main floor and it's a lot more lively here. The bottom floor is where the bathrooms and real golf courses are, but it's a lot more secluded. The real heartbreak came when we realized the kitchen closed at 9pm, but the bartenders were really helpful when it came to us ordering sweeter choices of cocktails and letting us know about the difference between the mini / regular courses. They also gave us recs on what was open late at night. Their cocktails were yummy and tasted like described on the menu! The John Daly tasted more sweeter than I anticipated as it came with simple syrup, vodka, and lemon juice. Both were still great choices. We love a lil bev to sip onnnnn. I also liked how this place had their own photobooth and outdoor seating with couches and a fireplace. Fun place to go to with a large group. read more

Tipsy Putt was a last minute grab for us in the search for late night food. They accommodated us for sure and there was three of us. It's a fun joint, some games and clean enough for us. The smashed burger was actually pretty good with some added bacon and avocado. Not bad at all as well as the chicken strips and tacos. Tipsy Putt is that kind of place that is underrated and shouldn't be. Great location.... Great service...... The mini Queso-Birria Tacos- WOW! So good! The chicken sandwich was a great choice, too! Plenty of beer selection. Yes, vodka too. Oh, the St. Paddy's Jell-O shot was heavy-good. This place looks small from the outside but it's the inside that will get your attention. In a town like Monterey where there are an abundant amount of choices to eat and drink; Tipsy Putt should never be disqualified. Alexis, she had the best attitude and personality to do the job. She was playing the best music from her own Spotify and it was on point. Sure, they forgot to bring our fries with the sandwich but this is an easy fix. The attitude no one can ever fix. Decent spot where you can play mini golf downstairs. Layout of the restaurant is kinda confusing. You order at the counter and then pick up your food on the other side of the kitchen window. We grabbed a table thinking we can order from the QR code but that was not the case. We went for a good activity to do in Monterrey. We ordered some drinks and did a round of putt. The idea is amazing. Personally the space they have and the execution wasn't the best. It's great idea to putt and drink. It's just such a small area down stairs we finished in 20mins. Luckily no one was behind or before us. The course is very generic each whole just no cool movement expect for one hole you have to get it to second level. That was unique and fun. When we came in, we were instantly greeted by the man working behind the bar. He ushered us over and happily helped us place our lunch orders. The menu is your standard bar fair. Our kids went with the kids corn dogs & Mac & cheese, I went with a burrito, and my wife a salad. Once our food was ready, we all gobbled everything up. My kids loved their food, my wife said the salad was fine. Nothing amazing, but still hit the spot. My burrito, once you got through the heavy use of rice, was tasty & the meat flavorful. If they had cut the rice volume down by about 1/3 it would've been top notch. In all, we're glad we opted out of eating in the aquarium and stumbled upon this restaurant. We had a great time and our only real disappointment was that we didn't have the time to play some golf while we were there. Great place to meet up with friends. Chill and laid back. We ordered drinks played a quick round of miniature golf and I lost horribly. All drinks are served off the taps, there is a very small assortment of liquor but it got the job done lol. We ordered Birria fries and the pretzels with cheese. What a fun spot! We stopped in on a Wednesday evening during a recent trip up the coast. You sit wherever you like and order food and drinks at the counter. We ordered the mac and cheese trio, the fish tacos and a salad with chicken. The food was pretty standard bar food, but everyone enjoyed their meals. We were delighted to see it was Trivia Night and stayed for the fun. Love that the location is close to hotels and right in the heart of Cannery Row. Found this spot last minute and it was such a great find. When we arrived, earlier in the evening, it was fairly empty with loads of spots to sit. We stayed upstairs enjoying drinks and playing a board game (tables were very conducive to a board game). The mixed cocktails available were very strong and I had the whiskey and Coke one (forgot the name). We did explore the downstairs but decided not to play put put. After I lost to our board game, we decided to play the pool/putt putt combo game upstairs. It was fun and unique. Overall we had a great time here, highly recommend. Pretty sad spot. We went for the putt putt (from other reviews, it seems like it's better if you actually eat/drink there?) but we headed straight downstairs. It was dark and gave no instruction on where to start, we had to walk around quite a bit before even seeing the numbers (hint: look down); the holes seemed pretty random and were waaaaay too easy to get through. Even having had a drink beforehand, it wasn't hard at all - we probably finished the course in all of about 7 minutes. Definitely not worth the money if you're only going for the mini golf. Oh, and what's up with the empty glasses all over? There was a collection started at the bar and random glasses/old scorecards throughout the course, and no staff downstairs. Odd. read more

Last time I was in this building it was a dark underwhelming brewery/ bar. Exemplary service. Large televisions for the football lover in your group. The beer and cocktails selection is OUTSTANDING! Yes, I used all caps. They have so am y of my favorite brewery spot from the central coast, Humble Sea, Discretionary, Soquel, Other brother in seaside. Like wow. Dustbowl and Russian River. Daaammmnnnnn. And mini golf to boot. Similar to Flastick Pub for my PNW peeps. Parking in this area sucks as it is a touristy part of Monterey. But. Pretty rough (and smelly) experience at what could have been a fun outing in Monterrey. Food is basic... a slightly expanded bar food menu some done well and everything else average. Super bummer that this place has neon taco decorations, and tacos painted on their walls and they're in Monterey Bay, but they were out of fish tacos. Chicken and Carne Asada tacos were fine but unremarkable. Understand it was New Year's Day, but they only had one cook so also took a fairly long time. Also, ordering was super complex with drinks being ordered on one POS and food on another. This system created a bunch of inefficiency ("come over here... excuse me... stand over here... I can help you here... no, drinks are a separate order...") and a long line and was just unnecessary. Putt putt is nine holes in a dark downstairs that was fine, but not great. Last hole is a bit of a Hail Mary that invalidates all the scoring anyway. Keg and brick themed. Biggest issue was the bathrooms... they have a cutesy sign that says "sorry about the smell, we're working on it", but when you go in it's like raw sewage released from the 7th circle of hell. Made my daughter physically gag and lose her lunch. Seriously... they need to fix this or shut down. Must be a health issue. read more

The mini-golf course is so much more creative than a typical putt-putt--each hole has its own personality, and it was a fun challenge (especially with a drink in hand!). Each Tipsy Putt has a different layout. It was great to go in after the busy aquarium and relax. We really enjoyed listening to music, playing games and siping on drinks. They have a great selection of beer on tap & drinks for the kiddos. They even have a food menu and all the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Such a fun spot for any time of day and any group of people! Ambiance is casual with lower lighting and music playing indoors. Music isn't quiet but also not overly loud, at least in the day time. It gives a fun vibe where you can talk loudly and laugh without feeling like you are being too loud. Acoustics are really nice here too, without that echo some places have. Kids are welcome until 7pm and staff is really great with them. My 1 year old loves waving hi and blowing kisses at the staff because they engage with him, and my 7 year old really enjoys playing the games and eating snacks. We have been three times as a family and joined the membership because it is such a great outing. Members get free golf and 1-2 Putt and discounts on everything else. It is a great choice for a group meet up since everyone can order whatever they want at the bar, kitchen, game counter walk up style, without having to worry about splitting a bill. We haven't tried the bottomless mimosas yet, but members pay $19 and non-members $39. We will have to try them sometime. The Asada fries are loaded with guac, really tasty pico de gallo, and big chunks of tender carne Asada. The churro waffle is decent: a cinnamon waffle with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, berries and a caramel drizzle. Pretzel bites with queso are really good with a yummy white queso. Chips are a really nice crispiness but not too thin to scoop with. The cocktails are on tap and quite tasty, along with many beers to choose from, including some of our favorite local breweries. My kids love playing the table golf upstairs, mini golf downstairs, and bean bag toss on the patio. There is a beer pong set up downstairs with water cups sometimes, but we haven't tried it. There is a photo booths near the bar for $5 which is fun too. Staff is super friendly and helpful and they even remember you from visit to visit, which feels extra special. Tipsy Putt has donated to a ton of the local charities and schools that I like to support, which gives them major bonus point in my mind too. I saw a review that they do have purse hooks, but they are on all the tables and under the bar. Maybe they read the review and added them, which again gives them bonus point in my mind. After some long awaited delays, tipsy putt is a great addition to Cannery Row. We went on day 1 and despite the crowds, the service was super friendly and the mini golf course was fun and efficient! Day 1 offered a membership for a year for $95. After seeing the price for one game ($15) and crunching some numbers, it was an easy sell for the annual membership (although I'm sooo sad I didn't get the $195 lifetime membership they offered 2 years ago when they first planned on opening). Either way the membership gets you free games throughout the year and a couple bucks off beers each visit. The beer selection was worth the cost of admission with local faves like Humble Sea Socks and Sandals and Alvarado St. Mai Tai PA for decent prices given the location. The mini golf isn't really the draw here but it was still a fun, challenging course to enjoy with friends. We didn't get to get the 1-2 Putt but given the hooting and hollering it looked like a good time. At $12/game again the membership looks to be paying off with future visits. I ordered the tinga tacos and they were a good value at $4.50 each. I saw a plate of nachos and immediately had fomo as they were piled high enough that I saw some toppings fall to the ground. Overall this will be a great place for locals, visitors visiting locals, and visitors looking for a family friendly (and 21+ friendly spot after hours) near Cannery Row. But really, check it after 30 minutes. I ordered the Barbacoa, Pork Belly and Fish Tacos. They are all a bit different but I think the fish taco was really solid with lots of flavor and spice. There is local beer on tap as well as other regional beers. Join the Tipsy Putt Club for discount online or via the app. This is truly a party atmosphere. It was a wonderful experience. The margs were nice and strong. I do recommend the strawberry marg over the pineapple but that may be personal preference. The mini gold is $18 per person. They have food. They do have an elevator for people in wheelchairs. The elevator is employee only but it's open to those of us who need it.
