Best modern, authentic Chinese restaurant in Stamford. A good balance of dishes that appeal to more Western tastes and traditional dishes. Service is friendly & attentive when you dine-in and quality is still really good if you order takeout. A huge win in the Stamford food scene. The photos look as good as it tastes.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Stamford. We visited the restaurant for lunch. We got scallion pancake to share, and it was delicious, served with a very tasty dipping sauce. My main dish was Kung Pao chicken. It was excellent, very tasty and what was the most important for me, it was spicy as advertised. In most of other places, the dishes are marked as "hot" but offer little or no heat. Here, the dish was marked " very spicy" and that how it was. Very good service, prompt and friendly. Recommended.

def wasn't a fan of their orange or whatever it's call chicken but at least it wasnt filled with batter as most other places would do. it looked like orange dooodoo. It wasn't crispy and def didn't look good. but here it is.. the only asian here is probably the chef who owns the joint in the back. otherwise it's the locals that work here.

L12. Hot and Numbing Flounder in Clay Pot Lunch

I had thought that Peter Chang was a mediocre chain Chinese restaurant probably because it has a similar name to one. While it has several locations in different states, the food here is pretty good. This restaurant serves Szechuan food but also have other Chinese dishes including Americanized Chinese. I order two lunch specials, mongolian beef and hot & numbing flounder. I expected the Mongolian beef to be sweeter. There were a lot of onions. It is a bit spicy and was too salty. Not bad if it wasn't so salty. I was surprised by the size of the hot and numbing flounder. It was in a quart sized container with a pint of rice on the side! The flavor was very good with a good amount of fish. Despite the name the spice level is not that bad if you don't eat the peppers. Under the layer of hot oil and pepper flakes, the soup below is not spicy. Delicious dish which I highly recommend.

Service: Parking: Ambiance: Food: Menu: Value: Great--$$ with huge portions The menu is cleverly divided into thirds: New York-style Chinese food, Traditional Chinese food, and Japanese dishes (including an authentic sushi chef). The food was fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. Portions were so large we had to take a ton home, which means another full meal tomorrow. Usually when I eat at a Chinese restaurant I leave a little hungry and end up grabbing dessert somewhere else--not tonight. I'm stuffed and satisfied.

Food was so-so and I think it's because of what I ordered that left me underwhelmed. It was a party of four. One ordered a speciality roll a salad and the spare rub appetizer. The salad is a green salad with ginger dressing. Standard fine. I tried one of the ribs it was fine meaty a little bland compared to others I've had. My appetizer was the yellowtail with jalapeño. - I didn't care for it. My entree was the whole crispy fish. I was looking forward to it my friend said her husband had it and loved. It came out and I was disappointed. I don't recall it saying on the menu that a sauce covered it. I wouldn't have ordered it or requested it on the side. It was a thick sweet sauce so parts of the skin took on a shellac texture. The inside flesh itself was bland so the dipping in the sauce helped but again underwhelming. Even if I had wanted it with sauce it was way to much sauce for the dish. The others in my party enjoyed their entrees I tried the Moo shoo pork which was decent. The tempura was fried perfectly not oily
