Minigolf can be fun. It can also be kind of annoying. Bring your own alcohol also can be fun and not fun at the same time. I'm a golfer, so I maybe take minigolf too seriously, but because everyone is drinking and having a good time, the pace of play can be extremely slow. The course itself is pretty fun and has a lot of interesting animal statues, but expect to have a round that is much, much longer than anticipated. Classic mini golf course in the heart of Austin. Priced well and has two courses (18 holes each). Great place for kids/family as well as adults who want the added challenge of drinking while putting. In terms of difficulty, this is probably the easiest mini golf course I've ever played. I think I finished with only two strokes on half of the holes (putting is the worst part of my golf game) but there are some holes that are a little more challenging. Really cool way to kill an hour. Got lots of photo ops with the various sculptures. It was quiet when we got there at about 1pm on a Wednesday and we were pretty much on our own for the whole thing. Both courses are doable. It was so hot when we were there. The location is pretty handy to access. Had such a great time. Really appreciate that they're open until 1 on the weekends. You pay, you get your ball and putter, grab a scorecard, and have fun. Nobody tells you what to do, nobody minds if you climb on the sculptures, and everyone is generally respectful. Could use an extra trashcan or two along the course, as beer cans get left in random spots, attracting cockroaches. Courses are clean, challenging, and designed very well. read more

Excellent courses. It was so nice to play a course that had fun characters and obstacles. It was also nice to play in shaded areas. Workers were very nice and accommodating. The pieces could use a paint touch up; but, the overall experience was great. The price is on target as well. I highly recommend this mini-golf course. read more

i'm definitely a fan of this place. how can you beat a true old school mini golf park with a laid back byob policy right in the heart of the city? it's a gem that i hope never goes away. but i do have one criticism which is actually why i came to yelp today: they need to get their business hours situation under control. the hours on yelp say one thing and the hours on their personal website say another (an hour later than what's on yelp). turns out the truth is somewhere in between...at least in theory. for instance during the week they keep letting in new players until 11 but they don't actually close and kick people out until 12. this is what they'll tell you if you call them. but beware, because even that direct person-to-person confirmation cannot be relied upon. this past wednesday for instance was my birthday. so just to be safe, i called them around 6pm to have them personally verify they would be admitting people until 11 and not kicking us out until 12. Great! we proceeded with our festive dinner plans and such and then wrapped things up in time to zip on over to peter pan to cap the night off with some boozy golf time. got to the front gate at 10:40 and despite clear skies, several cars in the parking lot, and multiple groups milling about playing golf, the kid behind the window tells us, "sorry y'all, we're closed up for the night." is peter pan really so loaded they can afford to just randomly turn away customers well before closing time? like i said... i still love the place. but they need to decide what their hours are and stick to it. despite all my efforts to make doubly sure i could count on them, they still managed to disappoint me on my birthday. and that just blows, peter pan. you're better than that. read more

I can't tell you how many times I have been here. I was born in South Austin and have been coming to Peter Pan Put Put since I could walk. When my husband and I were dating we would bring a sixer over here for a casual fun date. Now we bring our son and his friends here for weekend fun. It's amazing this place is still here. They keep the statues up as much as they can and just did a major landscape redo a few years ago. There are benches to sit on in between holes and tables to rest your beers. I do believe they ask no glass, there are a lot of kids here. People watching here is great! There are two types of put putters- those who are just there for a good time and couldn't care less about the score, (we don't even keep score). And those who religiously tally each stroke like its the damn pga tour. Whichever type you are, as long as you don't have too big a stick up ur butt, you are gonna enjoy this place. read more

Peter Pan Putt Putt! I love that it has survived and gone through almost no changes throughout the years. You can see that giant orange dinosaur for blocks away. If you ever need to take a group of kids or just hang out with some beers and friends, this is the place to go. Although I usually have the worst score, I still have tons of fun. Also, its at the corner of Lamar and Barton Springs, so you can walk to the snow cone place and have cold sweet treat. read more

I've been here several times and it is usually very fun. BYOB and a more adult crowd at night can make mini golf into a rowdy endeavor (well, as rowdy as mini golf can be). The prices are cheap and the courses are tacky which make for good times and good opportunities for pictures throughout. The only reason why I would go with four stars as opposed to five are for the reasons stated in other posts: really small parking lot, cash only, and every time you go you are bound to have someone behind you rushing along. Peter Pan is good for families, dates, or a night out with friends. read more

Fun, inexpensive and one of the last of a sadly dying breed. Cash only and parking tough, but definitely worth it to take the kids on a nice day.... if mostly for the nostalgia value. Needs some maintenance work, several gallons of paint and general sprucing up, as well as better debris removal from putting surfaces, but I suspect this place may be surviving on a pretty thin margin. read more

This is such a great place to come as a family. We come every year, and our kids always look forward to the sculptures. We always start with the East Course, as it is a bit easier. With small kids, one 24 hole course may be enough, especially in the summer. When it's hot, go right when they open. read more

Peter Pan Mini-Golf used to be a fun place to go. It's open late, it's cheap, and you can BYOB. But the past TWO times I've been, I've been treated very poorly by whoever is there working. We brought our own beer, but because they were in glass containers we were told we couldn't bring them in. This is completely understandable, except for the fact that I've brought in glass containers many times before and it wasn't an issue. The worker also was very rude and brusque about it. We asked if we could bring it in a another container, and said that's fine but we close by midnight. It's only about 10:30 so we assume that will work, but when we come back at eleven o'clock, all we get is a "we're closed" again in the same impolite and brusque manner. When a place advertises that it's open til midnight I expect it to close at midnight, not a full hour beforehand. It's also not a lot to ask for a pleasant and polite experience with someone working in customer service. Even if I was told the same things in a more polite manner (rules are rules after all), I wouldn't feel the need to write this review. read more

If I could give this a negative star, I would. This place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Our spirit group had a sisterhood event there this past Thursday night. The guy at the front desk (a tall, skinny, brunette guy) told them that they had to wait until the person with the checkbook (our Treasurer) was there for them to start playing. That was fine. However, when our treasurer finally got there, the guy said "I don't know why you guys waited. You could have started playing at any time." What?! ...Then, I got there a little late (I'm the president) and when I asked for clubs the guy asked me what name the reservation was under and I said the name of our spirit group. He said he didn't recognize that name. So I said the name of our sisterhood chair and he said "Well..which is it?" He was INCREDIBLY rude and didn't want to give me clubs. I told him, ultimately, that the event was coming out of my checkbook and that he didn't need to be rude..which made him INCREDIBLY much more rude. I will NEVER go to this location again. The customer service completely killed it for us. If you hate your job, you should definitely not work there. read more
