She asked me financial questions first, "will you be paying this cash or insurance." I said, insurance, and then immediately, Tracy, said "we don't do that procedure for that insurance." I was confused, and I'm thinking if my insurance approved this referral surely they should take it. She was huffing and puffing and scoffing trying to ask me questions I really didn't know. I remained cool and calm, and even thanked her for her "help." I was completely disappointed that a person with such a terrible customer service could be called "manager." There was a language barrier and she was completely frustrated and rude. Perhaps, I couldn't understand what she was trying to communicate. I could understand her words (they were not that broken) but she fell short of articulating her point. I went back to my PCP office to tell them they denied seeing me and please transfer the referral to someone else they told me they were within network. So I bravely called again and I was met with a frustrated attitude saying, "ma'am, we may be in network but our surgeon does not work on that procedure." I finally understood, what I'm being referred to is not his specialty. Which is weird because on his website he does indeed have an arm portfolio. Meaning he is taking on arm lifts. Unsure if their dishonesty is due to my insurance type which is discrimination, or just them not wanting to deal with the paperwork. Tracy, if you cannot find the words, I understand, take a moment, breathe and think of the words to communicate effectively instead of being rude to a potential cash paying customer/ patient. This has left a bitter taste in my mouth, so much, that I'd steer away from ever recommending this office or Dr. Vu. The manager isn't only rude but dishonest.

Update: Since my original review, the situation has escalated significantly. I requested my medical…read morerecords on April 2, 2026, and despite multiple follow-ups, they were never provided. I was told they would be uploaded to my Symplast portal, which never happened. Because of this delay, I was forced to undergo emergency surgery without access to my own medical records; something that should never happen and could have had serious consequences. To make matters worse, the doctor's office has continued to refuse to provide my records, which is a direct violation of California Health and Safety Code §123110. Patients have a legal right to timely access their medical information, and that right was completely disregarded in my case. I have now filed a formal complaint with the Medical Board of California. This experience has been not only frustrating but alarming. Patients deserve transparency, timely access to their records, and a standard of care that prioritizes their safety. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

They did call and leave a message that I missed but after that call, I had two text confirmations from them and called the office the morning of my appointment and talk to someone to confirm. I showed up for my appointment and they said it had been canceled and that they tried reaching out to me. They offered me no alternative solution other than to come back until I had said that I talk to someone and then all of a sudden they could get me in with someone. However, I had taken off work and after over 30 minutes of waiting past my appointment time after they had told me it would be just a few moments I had to leave. There was zero apology, and they tried to blame me and their third-party system. When I asked why the third-party system would be sending out reminder text and confirmation after they had canceled the appointment, they told me they don't actually cancel the appointment until they talk to the patient. When I asked why they would do that when there was no doctor to be seen as an alternative they just said that's the way we do it. While I will take the blame for missing the missed call at 8 AM the day before I don't understand why they wouldn't make a second attempt when the appointment was at 12:50 the next day. And furthermore, why I wouldn't have been told on the phone when I called the day of my appointment. Needless to say, I called Kaiser and ask him not to ever have to go back to the office.

There is a very nice comfortable waiting room you can wait in for the duration of the surgery. I didn't wait long (maybe about an hour), and then the surgeon notified me that the surgery went well. The whole process was surprisingly quick! We were in and out within 3 hours. In the evening, the surgeon called me to ask how Maui was doing. Very good service and compassionate care!! She was very nice and friendly over the phone. She explained the expectations for my consultation and made me feel very at ease. My consultation was scheduled a month away but was placed on a waiting list and was seen sooner. After meeting Dr. Hardesty (virtually), I was impressed by the amount of information he provided me with. This was my 2nd surgeon consultation. He was very detailed on the process. Mind you, I was removing my implants due to weird symptoms I was experiencing related to BII. He was very supportive and wasn't shocked as to the reason. He made me feel very comfortable about my decision. After my consultation, I was able to schedule my surgery with Elizabeth right after. Surgery was about a month and a half later. The surgery center is right next to his office. On surgery day, I was very nervous and with mixed emotions. I met the anesthesiologist and Dr. Hardesty before entering the OR. Dr. Hardesty offered to say a quick prayer before surgery, which made me feel VERY at ease! Surgery was about 3 1/2 hours, it was longer than expected. The nurses there were super nice and attentive. My recovery was not easy! You need some help at home for the first week. The drains are no joke. I didn't have drains for my BA so I didn't expect for these to be an issue. They make recovery so much harder. And when they are removed, man, that's not fun. Besides all the complications, Dr. Hardesty was beside me all the time. All his patients have his cell phone number in case of an emergency, which I had to use on a weekend. He's very caring and kind. Thought-out my recovery, I had to visit his office in Riverside numerous times. From his front desk to his PA, they are all very friendly, kind and accommodating. His nurse, Narsel, is amazing. She's super energetic, uplifting, and knowledgeable. She made every visit enjoyable regarding the circumstances. Kelsey Sandoval, PA-C is very attentive and kind. It's been 6-weeks since surgery. The experience I had with Dr. Hardesty's office was incredible from scheduling my consult to my last appointment today. I can't thank them enough for taking care of me during some difficult times in my life.
