I received a speeding ticket for driving over the posted speed limit in front of a senior citizen center in the fall of 2019. I felt aggrieved at the ticket for whatever reasons and decided to contest. Found Peter Stone from my work's legal plan. The trial was supposed to be in April 2020 which was postponed due to covid lockdown. It was moved multiple times and finally scheduled for April 2022, 2 yrs since the supposed first trial and 2.5yrs since the ticket was issued. Despite the dates being moved so many times and so far in the future, Peter was very responsive and always kept me updated. And when the trial did happen, the speeding ticket was dismissed because the officer didn't turn up for the hearing. The dismissal of the ticket is secondary, i guess any attorney would have the same result if the officer didn't turn up. I have needed his help on two separate occasions (both regarding real estate) and he has been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. TL;DR: Unprofessional and slow. I signed up for Peter's law services about a year ago expecting to have an easier time managing a disputed debt, but I really wish I had just done it all myself. One of his lawyers, Elizabeth, took 4-6 business days to reply to any given email, and due to her slow response time we ended up passing the deadline to negotiate. The disputed debt was reported to credit agencies, and my partner and I got a huge hit to our credit scores. This was easily avoidable, and while not worth a malpractice suit, was incredibly unprofessional and incompetent. After I called Peter to discuss this, he apologized and offered us an Amazon gift card. It didn't cover our legal expenses, much less the time we wasted and the consequences of our lowered credit scores. I don't recommend working with this law firm. read more

Zero professionalism. We reached out to get him to review some contracts for us for an apartment that we were buying. I admit that this was a last minute request, but we just wanted to see if he had the time to help us review standard disclosure packages. I spoke to his assistant and told her what we needed and gave her the case numbers and the Legal plan we were on. She emailed us and told us to email her the documents and that Peter would call us to discuss. We got an email from Peter asking us what we needed. Asked us for all the information that we had already given to his assistant - whom he clearly does not speak to and is just a wasting everyone's time (especially time that we did not have). We ignored his email requesting for us to resend the information as we didn't feel comfortable working with someone this unprofessional. He sends us an email the next day and says that he reviewed and there are no issues. No summary provided, no call to us - just one email saying that he reviewed and no issues. ARE YOU FOR REAL? I know he is going to bill us for spending probably 5 minutes skimming through the documents. We asked for a write-up or a call summarizing his findings and of course nothing. Such a waste of time. Stay Away! If I could give him 0 stars I would! I've never had to say that in a yelp review before. Found Peter Stone through my legal insurance to do a simple will. He would not write my will as I wanted- I had to request clauses I didn't agree with to be removed x3, these clauses included my husband & agreeing to medical decisions at the end of our lives that we were not comfortable with (removal of life support etc). After the third request he said he would not be responsible if my will was not valid due to the parts I want removed. I'm sorry but that's your job- to make sure I'm protected, that's why I hired a lawyer instead of googling forms for a will on the internet and signing a form document. BTW the will he had for us was a giant prefabricated form he was unwilling to alter. Easy money for him but soooo bad for the client. Should I also mention he misspelled my husband's name throughout the document (Benjamin is not spelled Benjamim) this indicated to me that they simply used a find and replace to change the name (inaccurately through the entire document). He also insisted we need to change our bank accounts to to be named "the ____family trust" . If you want a lawyer who care about you and not just the money he will receive from working with you don't hire this guy. read more

I found this lawyer based on the list that my company provided me as the in-network lawyers they have contract with. I found the Yelp reviews pretty positive, and decided to consult with him about preparing our child's guardianship as well as the will and trust documents. The case was pretty simple including putting the names of a few friends (since we don't have any family in the US.) in our will as the potential guardians for our child that if something happened to both my spouse and me, they can handle the court issues and take our child to our families back in our home country. However, this lawyer said that he won't put that on want my child to be back to my family in my country as he might prefer to live in the US . I told him that if my child grew up and decided to live in the US. and there was a good family to take care of him, it'd be fine, but we don't have anyone here and he'd have to go to a foster care; so I need to have that in my will. And in his response, he literally said that children would prefer to stay in the streets of the US. rather than coming back to a country like my country, and therefore, he won't put that on my will. I still feel disgusted by such a racist comment. read more
