They are under new management from what I understand and the new manager is awesome. He was incredibly helpful as were all the staff. They answered all my questions even going as far as to google things for me. I started looking at an amp I was really digging so I started A/Bing amps and by the time I was done that had just about rearranged the show room and I was surrounded by amps and pedals. 1st class service and I loved it. They also do not appear to be a PRS authorized dealer anymore I posted my review elsewhere and was not going to add it here but based on their reply want to get it posted The claim that these instruments had functional issues or 'body splitting' is a blatant fabrication used to justify a $300 offer on instruments that routinely sell for way more. The Strat is a 'Closet Classic'--it is designed by the Fender Custom Shop to have checking and age. To use factory relicing as an excuse to offer 10% of market value is either a lack of product knowledge or a deliberate attempt to mislead. The $4600 dollar guitar I was looking at looked like it had Lost a long-time customer today. I've been a loyal supporter of Lark Guitars for years, spending a substantial amount of money here and recommending them to others despite their premium pricing. I believe in supporting local shops, but after today, I will never step foot in this establishment again. I went in today prepared to purchase a $4,600 Custom Shop Telecaster. For trade-in, I brought a PRS SC 58 and a Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic Stratocaster. After waiting, I was met with an insulting offer of $300 per guitar ($600 total). Claiming these high-end instruments are "too beat up" to offer more than entry-level Squier prices is either a blatant attempt to scam a loyal customer or a total lack of product knowledge. For a shop that deals in boutique gear, they should know exactly what those models are worth. I packed my gear and walked out. If you value your instruments or your time, I suggest you look elsewhere. They've lost my business for good.

Like most shops nowadays,Mark can order most anything you need, but everything I have purchased from his inventory has been spot on and has done what he says it would do. Since I am new to the area, I had him work on one of my guitars that is having trouble settling in. He not only finished the job in two days, he spent a half hour explaining what he had done and what issues I should watch out for as the instrument adjusts to the new climate. Highly recommended.

When it arrived, I could see it needed a good setup and some light fretwork. The tuners didn't inspire confidence and I found the ceramic humbuckers sounded a touch bright. Also, the guitar my daughter originally wanted was the Tom Morello start because of the mirror pickguard. I ordered a new pickguard, Seymour Duncan alnico humbuckers and locking tuners. I tried Alamo Music first and they said they could do the work for 350 and it would take three weeks. Hanukkah was a week away! Then I went to Puretone and they did the work in one week for over 200 bucks less! The neck feels great! The pickups sound great! It looks amazing! My daughter loves her guitar. She kisses it before she puts it away! Thank you Puretone for making this Hanukkah special.

I have taken in several guitars at Fretro, starting with a acoustic set up that went well. I had a…read morestripped down Cort I wanted to put new pickups in and it took him several months to tell me he's not goign to do it because he got frustrated with it, mind you it was an atypical guitar. Later on I took in my Mexican Stratocaster to have it set up and replace the 5 way switch which became loose. He calls me later saying all the electronic in it are crappy and he wants to replace all the pickups with Mighty Mites. ALL I WANTED WAS THE SWITCH REPLACED. AND he didn't even set the tremolo to be working (He charged me close to $200). I take it he is not very good at soldering or doesn't want to put in the effort. The last guitar I took in there was a hollow body and the jack came undone an dfell into the body. With previous knowledge of his shenanigans, I asked about the price and he said he'll have to go buy special tweezer/hemastats to fix it. Of course, he had to replace the jack and charged me $80. The only saving grace of Fretro is the tech that used to work at Melody Corner is there and will probably be doing all the actual work. But now I will just wait an dgo to Sam Ash to for anything major. We miss Stan, We miss Melody Corner.
