The place is a joke, the owner is more concerned about keeping up his arrogant persona and driving his sport cars. When I was expressing my frustration that they wouldn't allow me to return a Christmas gift they told me I never needed to shop there again. So I'll put how I feel in there own words. As many others have said, Wolf Music company runs a scummy and dishonest business. After purchasing a NEW pedal from their amazon storefront, I received a unit with a defective switch. Despite the pedal (which I can only assume was pre-owned) being defective, they still wanted to charge me shipping and a restocking fee. Not once was the issue of fixing or replacing the item brought up, only the fact that it was somehow my fault and that they would be charging a restocking fee. At least the manufacturer was helpful. Do yourself a favor and avoid these crooks. read more

I bought a new Diezel VH2 from Wolf Music in December. Purchase was smooth, but when the amp had functionality issues the first day it showed up, I was given the run-around for weeks and denied a return. I contacted the shop within the 2-day store return period and immediately made them aware of the issue with the amp (to include a video). I was informed they would reach out to their Diezel rep to get a professional opinion on the problem, and assured me I would be 'taken care of either way'. Days turned to weeks, and despite nearly a dozen phone calls to the shop to check on the status of this request, I was consistently told they would follow up and call back with a bottom line, but they never did. After nearly a month of being slow-rolled, I called Wolf Music to inform I wanted to return and be refunded for the Diezel that was still experiencing the functional issue I reported within 2 days of purchase. I was told no. When I asked if there was a manager to speak with, Matt informed me there are only 2 people who work the shop, and the owner 'isn't able to be reached'. You can call technicalities all you want, but this was a bluntly unethical, unprofessional way to handle a problem a customer had with a new amp that left them with no way to have their return honored for what they paid (as I would have done on day 2 if I knew this conduct was to come). Thankfully, Diezel themselves will warranty this issue, but now I'm stuck shipping off a new amp for repairs almost as soon as it arrived in my home. Consider this if you plan on buying from Wolf Music remotely and don't know the true condition of the item before the purchase, even if it's 'new'. read more

They sell used merchandise, then charge you a restock fee even if you return it immediately. They're incredibly rude people, and will always blame the customer. Please look to a more reputable company such as Sweetwater, or better yet, direct from factory if you're buying an instrument. Their 5 star reviews are mostly friends of theirs they gave discounts to in order to get the review. Don't risk your hard earned money to people that intentionally rip musicians off, there are plenty of other options. Good luck. read more

This place is run by the most dishonest scumbags I've ever had to deal with in 50 years of buying and trading instruments. Don't know how they've managed to stay in business. Made a deal over the phone on a Friday evening to trade for a new Guild 512 12 string that was on their website. Manager said he actually had two, I could have my choice. Cool. Luckily, I saved their listing on the favorites list on my laptop. Drove down from Austin the next morning only to be told he was mistaken, he only had one. Really. Said they didn't have the one in the listing. Should have walked right then. The one they had actually had some issues, but since I'd driven 2 hours for it I went ahead and made the deal. Guess what just came up on their website? Yep, the unblemished guitar he said he did'nt have. Pickguards are like fingerprints, no two are alike. Definately the same guitar. They must have anticipated I would'nt be a happy camper because they won't answer my calls. The sooner this place goes belly up the better. read more

Terrible buisness, bought an amp supposedly NIB through reverb. The amp arrived and had 2 issues, low gain stage for the lead channel (a prs achon) which I have 2 of already but wanted a portable combo. These are high gain amps and the one in question had almost no gain in the lead channel. Then as I was testing the amp it made a popping noise. I immediately requsted a refund. It was sent back and a week latter Iget a message that there were issues and i needed to call them. Over the phone some guy said he was a manager and played the amp for me (like I could hear it over a phone, or even knew it was the same amp). Told me it was fine and they charged me a hefty restocking fee of 2o% I would avoid buying anything from this store. They have a good rating from reverb but I don't know how. I have a dispute with reverb and will file a BBB complaint also. Caveat emptor read more

They have a very large inventory of guitars amps and accessories. Very knowledgable staff. I came out way better than I thought I would.

So very disappointed!!! Bought a piano book here for one of my students and told the clerk I didn't think it was right for my student, but I'd try it and see if I could return it. I was told I could return it within a few days. Came in to return it a couple days later and was told by a different clerk that I couldnt return it- and they didn't even offer me a store credit. He was completely unapologetic and didn't even go one inch to find out who was working and verify what I was told. All he had to do was look up my customer profile in their system to find out. Never walk in here. That's a sheister business if I ever experienced one. Truth is- they cut their music book business down to one tiny shelf of books- so looks to me that they're just trying to get rid of them all together and have no interest in making their customers long term. Shame on them for doing business this way. read more

I had my favorite guitar buying experience ever today. I drove 90 minutes from Dripping Springs to Wolf Music Company to get a guitar their website indicated was in stock. Michael greeted me when I got there, and I shared with him my amazement at the huge and varied selection of guitars they have on display. Michael pointed me to the guitar I was looking for, albeit in a different color. I played it, loved it, and suggested I wanted the other color. He told me it was at their warehouse, nearby, and offered to drive over to get it. As I was paying for the guitar I remarked that in my experience guitar store websites seldom display an accurate inventory, and he suggested it's a point of pride for them to have the website reflect their current inventory. He dropped everything to go get the guitar, and when he got back he offered to take it out of the box and check it over for me. Again, above and beyond in my experience. He took it in the back for 10 minutes or so, and came back to give me a very detailed report on the guitar's condition, which was excellent. He even suggested once the strings settle it might be necessary to adjust the truss rod, and he was careful to suggest a 1/8 counterclockwise turn. I was prepared to put the guitar back in the box, loose, thinking I'd taken enough of Michael's time, but he insisted that he wanted to repack it completely. Michael was thorough, interested in me, very eager to make me happy, and a wonderfully pleasant person to interact with. This is why we need local businesses. Wolf Music is a little gem, one I won't hesitate to drive 90 minutes to anytime I need anything guitar related. read more

My thanks to Jay and Mike the luthier. They recently Pleked my Partscaster and did a great job on it. Smoothed out the play on the neck. Very happy with the work. Guitar now plays great. Don't care about their customers or products their shipping. Horrible customer service. Shop elsewhere. Purchased a guitar for my son as a Christmas gift; guitar is damaged and poorly packaged and wasn't marked fragile. Reached out to Wolf Music Company and was greeted with rude, no help service. Told me I had 48 hours to inspect guitar upon receiving. Although with instruments they should sit for 24 hours an adjust to the temperature before opening. That gives you 24 hours to open and inspect or they deny returning. That shows how much they care about their service and customers. Huge disappointment. We purchased a guitar from Sweet Water; guitar arrived in the same Fender box that was INSIDE another box that was marked FRAGILE. THAT is how you ship music instruments! read more

I discovered this music store accidently when visiting a friend who lives nearby. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of electric guitars and accessories; strings, picks, cords, and amps. The staff was courteous and helpful and offered assistance. I would recommend this music store and make the long drive to visit the store again. read more

Terrible customer service. Had traded in pedals for an expression pedal. The first one didn't work and I was offered extremely rude customer service while trying to do the return. Was talked over on the phone offered zero customer service in the store when trying to figure out what would work. Was told I couldn't open up a pedal but could return it. When I asked if I could just open it so I would know it works before I leave. "Let me just make your day bud" in a sarcastic tone was the response I was offered with an accompanying eye roll. They do business online and act like it. Notified the owner of behavior and asked when he would be in next to try and figure out a product that would work. I went in when he was present at the store. Notified "make your day" dude to tell owner I was there and owner never came out. It's a shame because I moved back recently and have been a lifelong musician. Was looking to having a gear shop nearby to spend too much money in but definitely Not shopping there again. read more
