I have nothing but good things to say about Pete's cycles. I had a horrendous experience with another bike dealer out of state, (PA) and came into Pete's half expecting the same piss poor treatment. But right after we walked the first salesman, Allen greeted us and got me set up with Joe G. Joe listened to what I wanted and found the perfect bike for me. A 2016 Can Am Spyder RSS. She is the perfect color and everything. The total time from paperwork to out the door with paperwork was just under an hour! Two days later after they'd put her together( my bike was so new it was in the crate and the warhorse crew had to put her together) and had her at the store ready for me to take home. Gunnar in finance was awesome and friendly and they hurried but got everything done so we could try to beat a big rainstorm that was on the way. Another salesman, Jim S., filled in for Joe (who was off the day I picked up the bike) and did an excellent job giving me final instructions on the shop and how to operate my new bike.Everyone in that store including the parts guys had a big smile and told me congrats on my new baby! #bestfeelingever I have been riding 2 wheels for over 20 years so the info he and some of the other guys gave me helped!! They had the exact year, make, model, engine, color, and configuration of a motorcycle that I was researching and looking for so I bought it from Pete's Baltimore. The price was fair (other than fees). But the experience could've been better/more. Their fees are higher than other shops, and they don't flex/waive any of them, nor tell you what the fees really cover. Other shops know they can be flexible because a positive experience means they can make money back in the long term from related additional purchases or return/loyal visits. Pete's didn't seem interested in any of that. It was a very much one-done transactional experience. read more

Owning a service company myself, I do not take giving a bad review lightly, but I feel compelled to leave this one. My past experiences with Pete's Cycle have been disappointed nearly every time; however, it has not been until now that I felt a need to leave a negative review- as a warning to others. I believe that a company has the right to dictate their pricing as they see fit, but when it is over double of their competitors, for the exact service, that is indefensible. I recently requested Pete's for the cost to perform an annual service of a 2021 Rocket 3 with 5k miles and they quoted me $727.41! I knew that was insane, but to give them the benefit of the doubt I contacted two other Triumph dealers to confirm my suspicions. I'm a pretty stable understandable guy. But when I go into a dealership to ask for a basic part and get shut down, that makes for a disturbing experience. Parts for my bike are scarce. But when I give you a part number and your reply is "We can't reference it." Dude! It's a common part among motorcycles that you refused to look for on your system. They don't know how to work on CanAms, primarily older ones. I asked for a battery change in my Spyder, and they flat-out refused. It's weird, given they advertise as being a CanAm seller. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but the prices were outrageous. I bought a tyre from them at $175, and asked them to fit it. If I wanted them to remove the wheel, the cost for fitting would have been $250! Of the bike fitting was "only" $70. I opted for the latter which ended up as $100 bill - tube, rim tape, tyre disposal and shop supplies. The job was done on good time. When I got home I noticed there were no balancing weights on the wheel, so I called to ask if they had balanced the wheel. "Absolutely", I was told, "it didn't need any weights." ??? The invoice says "Installed new tire, tube, rim strip" No mention of balancing, so was it done? It's a holiday weekend and I'm on a cross-country trip, so I cannot hang around for 3 days to take it back and complain. On price alone, but not forgetting the doubtful balancing, I couldn't recommend this place - the same job in France, where I live, recently cost me €15, or $16!! read more

TLDR: this place is staffed with overpaid cashiers. Treat them like a Walmart, do not expect any knowledge of the products they sell. I have purchased two motorcycles from Pete's in Baltimore, one used, and most recently a brand new motorcycle. The only reason to purchase from them is if you know exactly what you want, and they have the best price. If you do decide to purchase make sure you know what your getting. I had the sales department, parts department, and finance actively try to ruin the sale. When I first reached out to inquire on the advertised motorcycle, the salesman who answered my e-mails tried to tell me the model I was looking at did not have the features I was talking about. Later, the sales team, partnering with the parts department first told me that an accessory I wished to buy wouldn't fit the bike. When I showed them the manufacturer's website, that the pet I wanted would fit, I was told that was wrong, because "that part is too nice for the price point". Once I finally convinced the sales team I was going to purchase (I put down a deposit and filled in the financing paperwork) the finance advisor was having me sign several papers. One indicated the warranty period was for 2 years. I tried to correct him, and let him know the manufacturer was advertising 3 years. His reply was "I have never heard of that in my life". A quick search on Google and clicking on the manufacturers website showed him it was indeed a 3 year period. I think that if there was any competition in Baltimore, Pete's would quickly be out of business. read more

All I can say is watch yourself around this dealer. They have in my opinion deceptive and shady business practices. The first deal I had agreed to buy a Honda Shadow. They swapped the one I had gotten a price on with a different color bike that was a year older model. This time I inquired about a 1100 Rebel T. They got back to me with a price that was about $3000.00 over the advertised price. I asked for a detailed breakdown which they refused to send me until I gave then a credit card number for a deposit. I wanted to see the detailed price breakdown before making a decision on if I was going to purchase the bike. Why would I give them a deposit? My partner and I visited the dealership recently. Our talking with the sales guy was good. We wanted to look at Can-Am machines, but didnt know what kind of ATV would be best for us. A friend in our support group has one and likes it. We have never had an offroad kind of machine before. The sales guy was very helpful with our questions. We were introduced to the General Manager during our visit. I believe his name was Alan Nelson. Our conversation started out nice, but my partner and I noticed that he was very arrogant, condesending and talked down to us and we tried to get away from him. We finally were able to stop talking to him and we left as soon as we could. We will not go back to this dealrship if that is how they treat their customers. I had my Ducati serviced there three weeks ago. I paid nearly $1,500. I've just arrived at a new shop because my chain is falling off and my front brake is soft. I have water where I should have brake fluid. My local shop confirmed that there is no way that Pete's performed any of the services I was charged for. Frankly I'm lucky that I wasn't badly injured or killed. I have been in for service on three separate occasions now, and not once have they performed the services fully or on time. read more

MAKE THEM PUT ESTIMATE IN WRITING. Tire mounting = $262.90! I called Pete's cycle on Friday, July 29 2022 to see if they would be willing to mount new tires on my ATV to save me the trouble of doing it myself. I'd already removed the wheels, but just hadn't found the hour and a half it would take for me to do it with my manual Harbor Freight tire changer. The person who answered the phone and said that "we can mount your tires, but we might not get to it until tomorrow". I asked the price, and he said I'd have to ask the "maintenance guy when I dropped them off". I said okay and drove up to drop off the wheels and new tires. Again I asked how much and was told that the guy who knows wasn't in yet. Since Sam's Club charges $20/tire, and AAA charges $15 and I didn't want to make another trip, I left them and said "have him call with the price". Pete's never called, so I stopped by this morning to get them back. They'd already been done. The charge was $60 PER TIRE!!! Now I know why they didn't quote a price!!! Pete's also charged $21 to replace the SINGLE valve stem core I'd already removed. I have a $9 kit from Amazon with 40 valve cores, 20 caps, valve tool, valve core removal tool. It's common to change the valve core when changing a tire. The outrageous $60/tire price doesn't even include new valve stems! I won't be back. EDIT: My son reminded me to let y'all know about the insult before the injury: when I dropped the wheels off & the guy couldn't give a price, he said "as part of the normal service procedure, we put a $250 charge on the credit card, but don't worry, it's no where near that much. It's just standard procedure. We will refund the balance". Liars. read more

I just brought a 2018 Metropolitan scooter in for a new back tire and yearly tune up. At first I have to admit that I thought the price was a bit steep, but after getting the scooter back all I can say is I'm not sure exactly what they do when they tune a bike up but this thing has never run this clean since I bought it at a pretty legit shop in Virginia. I always thought the thing was a bit sluggish. I'm a big guy and I get 40 mph plus and acceleration. Impressed. These guys are good and their reputation stands strong. Be upfront about your dealer fees. I kept asking what the final cost of my bike was and each time they literally told me the price before fees. I asked this multiple times and each time they made a point of saying "This is how much ---the bike--- is going to cost." What they left out was the $800+ in fees, which will also be financed. I didn't catch on until two weeks after my bike purchase when I got my financing info in the mail. At which point, I realized that by not handing me that information in person, they really didn't want me to see it. It is a well-organized process that I'd say they run to perfection. However, It's my fault for falling for the okie-doke. I'm really not mad, just disappointed in myself for being so eager to buy my bike that I let them get over on me. So I'm cautioning other buyers to be more aware of the trickery. Ask to see what is being financed BEFORE you sign anything. I hate to write a negative review but I would never qualify my experiences here as positive but they have been negative multiple times. While other shops are warm and friendly, seemingly to all types of riders, Pete's seems to have a chip on their collective shoulder about cruiser/V-twin riders. I once called asking about safety gear and textiles were recommended. I asked about leather or chaps maybe and got some answer about Pete's employees being real riders not into that cruiser stuff, or something to that effect. I happily took my business to another shop that just wanted to help me find what I wanted. Seems sensible. When I call for help I get a general sense that they don't need my business, which is a real shame because based on location, options in Baltimore, and their selection, on paper Pete's should be a great place. It's a shame the staff hasn't lived up to their potential in my experience. Has anyone out there had a different experience? I invite anyone to tell me I've just been unlucky. I've been in there to schedule repairs when I've heard the owner's son screaming on the phone at a customer. I recently purchased a Polaris Sportsmen 400 from Pete's Cycle and they had the lowest out the door price that I could find between Baltimore and Delaware. I worked with Greg and he was straight forward and to the point. This ATV is going to be used for some work around my property and some trail riding from time to time. The 400 was a good deal and only 35cc smaller than the 500 series which is on the same frame. They cut me a break on the helmet/goggles when I purchased them with the ATV. The finance manager was also straight forward and to the point. Overall, I have no issues with the experience. I wanted to purchase the ATV from the dealer in Delaware which is much closer to my home, but they were almost $750 higher out the door. read more

Pete's Cycle is great. Both their sales & service departments are on point. Every employee there is willing to go the extra distance and help out. There knowledge on bikes is great, so if you ever have a question I'm sure someone there will be able to answer it. I recently took my bike in for a minor issue, thinking I'd have to schedule a "future" maintenance date and potently not have my bike for a long period of time. I was ready to pull the trigger on a new Honda Phantom. I emailed Pete's and asked them to give me their best out the door price. A salesman wrote me back and disregarded everything I had asked for and wanted to know how he could help me. Again I asked for the best price out the door on a BLACK 2020 Phantom. I finally got the price and said "Let's do it. I filled out a credit app and worked out the down payment. Ready to go right? Wrong. When I called to arrange delivery the salesman said " I already pulled your bike from the floor, the WHITE 2019 Phantom" I said "No it's a 2020 BLACK Phantom". He said I must have gotten you confused with another customer and tried to hit me up for an additional $700.00. I don't know if this was a "bait and switch" or just incompetents, either way it's piss poor service. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible buying experience. Placed advance deposit and set an appointment 3 days later for pickup. Paid in cash so no financing and still took over 4.5 hours to get 2 jetskis put together and out the door. Salesman disappeared for long periods of time working with others, and I spent half the day standing around waiting. Price went up $800 day of from what was agreed to, and one ski was the wrong color then I originally requested earlier in the week. Eventually just wanted to get out of there and over with. Happy with my actual jetskis' but will never refer or purchase from this dealer again. Didn't get unit I wanted, cost changed, and wasted a full day with no real apology. read more
