At The Shanty in Cardiff I went for the soccer game and accidentally found some of the best wings I've ever had. The jerk wings were incredible--perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat. The fries were crispy, fresh, and disappeared way too fast. But the curry wings... WOW. Hands down the best curry chicken wings I've ever eaten. Also have you ever had curry wings? Doubtful! The flavor was rich, bold, perfectly balanced, and absolutely addictive. Every single bite was a 10/10. I was already planning my next order before I finished the first one. I had the tri-tip sandwich with a side of fries at The Shanty location. The fries were tasty, but I did not care for the tri-tip; I found it too fatty for me, and it was unevenly cooked: some pieces were nearly raw while others were medium to medium well. I have had the chance to eat Pete's Kitchen food truck 2 times since September. The first time was a large, stuffed, delicious chicken burrito. Definitely hit the spot and filling. The chicken was juicy, moist, full of flavor, and definitely want to get that again. Second time I got to try the 3 chicken taco plate. Same delicious chicken flavor but definitely not as filling as the burrito. I got the cilantro and onions and skipped on the sauces. I wish I realized that I could have tried 1 of each, Beef, Chicken, and Potato. Definitely glad that Pete's food truck was back at my office again, and hope that he will come back again and have the burritos on the menu. read more

Pete and his family have been an incredible blessing to our family and the entire community over the years. Pete's food is so delicious that we don't mind driving wherever his food truck is parked because the taste never disappoints. I remember one birthday, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer, my husband blindfolded me and led me to believe we were going out for a special treat. After being guided through a few doors and up a set of stairs, I guessed we were at a five-star restaurant in San Diego, given the 25-minute car ride. To my surprise, it was a catered event with impeccable service in our own home by Pete. The ambiance they created brought tears to my eyes. It is truly an experience to work with Chef Pete Coleman. I was planning a girl's trip in Oceanside, CA. The first time my friends and I have seen each other since the pandemic. I wanted to plan something nice for us our first evening after a full day of traveling. During my first conversation with Chef Pete he listened and immediately caught my vibe and began making menu recommendations. Everything he recommended was right on par. Only one change had to be made a little later in the process but he was so very flexible. Chef Pete and April were prompt upon arriving to the location. Their attire was of culinary professionalism. They were attentive, attuned to our needs. The food was exquisite. Each course filled with so much flavor. The wine pairings were phenomenal. My only negative is probably only how rowdy my crew and I got towards the end of the amazing dinner. The food was spectacular, the drinks were flowing and the music we piped in had us in high spirits. I only hope Chef Pete and April will consider having us again. read more

Pete's kitchen was available when I most needed them for a repast gathering during the lost of my dad. We enjoyed the healthy chicken lasagna, garlic bread and salad for a large number of guest. It was amazingly delicious and nothing was left over. The couple was on time for drop off, easy to work with and compassionate during our families tough time.
