Emergency on Sunday/ Mr rooter is the place to call!! Jesus Dominquez came out in 30 minutes to repair a huge plumbing leak. A water pipe broke, water was everywhere... He quickly evaluated the problem, made a plan for the repair and in 3 hours he completed the work! He cked to make sure no other pipes were corroded, installed emergency shuts off valves. I am so grateful for Mr. Rooter plumbing of santa Cruz and the plumber, Jesus. I think the price was very fair considering the work and supply needed and of course it was Sunday !! read more

At first, the scheduling seemed smooth -- they confirmed a time and sent a technician.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The problems started once the technician arrived. Their staff member, Michelle, called me and was immediately rude and unprofessional. I explained that I had already given my contact through Yelp and would provide my direct number if I decided to hire them after receiving a quote. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She insisted on my personal number right away and became noticeably upset when I said no.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Later, she called again saying the technician couldn't enter because no one answered the door. I told her the tenant wasn't home but the door was open. Instead of calmly explaining company policy, she spoke in a condescending way, saying things like "You don't know that? Oh my God."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had never been told that they require someone present to explain the issue, and the way she handled it was extremely unprofessional. Youre supposed to get a breakdown of the estimate prior to work. We only got a verbal of 8-900 for a new main house shutoff valve install. When the final total job was re-amended to remove this job they only removed 300$. Smooth move Id say....UPDATE!! They did finally agree to credit work on their estimate, but they told us "NO GUARANTEE" about 50 times. Some outfits out there wouldve given us some better assurance. The Mr Rooter pickup (believe the license plate ended in IU3) almost ran over a bicyclist at the Depot Park roundabout on 10/20/25 at 11:55am. The driver was so engrossed in his phone that he didn't notice during or after (the bicyclist was yelling and had to get out of the way of the pickup when it just charged into the roundabout lane without looking). We had a sudden blockage of our main sewer on Sunday. After a few calls, these folks were the only service open. They sent Will out by 4:00 and he gave me a quote promptly. It was higher than I expected, since I haven't had a cable job done for over ten years, and inflation happens! There was no Sunday charge and this was the standard rate for the work.. He worked diligently and spent over two hours without much luck.. He called his supervisor and arranged a jet blaster and camera for the next morning. . Jimmy and Gaspar both worked with the blaster for over two hours to get the job done and explained various options and issues thoroughly. They charged no overtime and cleaned up nicely. I would like to share an excellent service experience with Mr. Rooter in Santa Cruz,CA. An overflow in my laundry room prompted a call to them as recommended by my neighbor. Mack was awesome! He was efficient, thorough, and very tidy. When finished, he told me exactly what he found, advised me about future maintenance, and reassured me that my worries about tree roots in my sewer line were not a concern (phew!). Our hot water heater went out the other day. I first called Anytime Plumbing based on the reviews I found on Yelp. But after several hours and no call back, I tried Mr. Rooter. Within 90 minutes Mack was at my door inspecting the heater. Unfortunately it was a Sunday and the warehouse was closed but he came back bright and early Monday morning with his supervisor, Albert, to confirm the issue and give me a quote. Because the heater was already 13 years old, I decided to replace the whole thing rather than try to patch it up temporarily. Albert was on the phone with the supply company right away explaining exactly what I needed so all I had to do was provide my credit card. They went to pick up the new heater and it was installed a few hours later. Problem solved extremely efficiently and professionally! Albert and Mack were both very nice. We had sewage back up into our garage sink after running the washing machine, which is in the house. I figured there was a clog in the line somewhere, so jumped on Yelp to look for a local "rooter." I was impressed that Mr. Rooter of Santa Cruz had such a high rating across a large number of reviews, so called them immediately. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon when I called. The person who answered the phone was polite and helpful--she got me scheduled for between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. the next morning. I appreciated the promptness of the appointment and the reasonably narrow time window. The next morning, Greg came to my house; he wore a mask and was respectful in terms of staying six feet away from me whenever possible. I explained the problem and he took a look at our clean-out access points. Greg was able to clear the drain quickly and easily. We do, however, have a number of clean out points and were not 100% sure if some of our sewer line could be Orangeburg. Greg called the office to see if one of the people who has a line camera was available. Scott was available and came right over. The camera revealed that we probably do have Orangeburg running from our garage to the more modern line from the house. It also revealed some build up within the line. Scott gave us some options and told us what he would do if it was his house. It did not feel high pressure or like he was trying to find more work to bill; it felt like an honest assessment of our system. We decided to have some additional cleaning of the line done, so that was scheduled for the next day. Greg returned the next day with the equipment to do the more intensive clean out. He also had someone come back with a camera and run it through the line from the other direction, to see if we could better determine the make up of our system. Again, no high pressure sales tactics; in fact, given that we have not had recurring blockages in the line, it was recommended that we not take any additional action at this time. Overall, Mr. Rooter of Santa Cruz provided prompt, professional, knowledgeable service. They went above and beyond to help us size up our system, only charging for the work they actually did (the clean out). I highly recommend their services. read more

I have used Mr Rooter in the past and been happy with their service. I used them several times to unclog my sewer line. Normally I would get a price upfront to unplug the line, which in the past was in between 200 and $300. Yesterday I had them come out but instead of giving me one price they gave me two. It would be approximately $400 to snake The line coming from the laundry room and another $400 to snake the line coming from the bathroom. $800 to clear a clog? To me that seems excessive. I had them snake the first line, but that did not solve the problem. I ended up sending the technician away and will snake the other line myself. When I called to pay the $400 they tried to charge me over $700!!! Luckily this did not become an issue and I was charged my original $415 for them to snake a line that didn't need to be snaked. And then they wanted to charge me 3 1/2% to pay with a credit card. I'm sorry to say that after spending over $10,000 with this business over the last 10 years they lost my business yesterday. read more
