    Texas Toast

I never felt compelled to leave a review for any place until my experience yesterday evening.. I created a whole account just because of this place. If you're not going to read this whole review I'll keep it short- save your time and money. This place won't be around for long. I stopped in after work to try this place. I stood at the host desk for approximately 7 minutes before, I had to ask another patron what the order of operations was to get service he told me you're supposed to wait at the host desk but good luck so I went back there and continued waiting.. Now please note that this place was maybe at 15 to 20% capacity NOT busy.. empty tables as far as the eye could see... The bartender could see I was standing there, but did nothing. When someone finally came to the desk I was instructed to order to-go orders at the bar, so I did, since it was my first time I was here I wanted to try everything so I look at the "Family platter" with that name it seemed like a healthy amount of food and I want to try everything this place had to offer... First off- no prices on the menu is diabolical.. the bartender informed me that the "family platter" was $100.. NO PROBLEM let's do it. When I hear this, I assume I'm getting quite a bit of food , ya know. She informed me that it does feed "4 to 6 people" I sit at the bar for approximately 35 to 40 minutes waiting for this food. Keep in mind this place is at 15 to 20% capacity.. When I get it, it's just two grocery bags.. a bit underwhelming for a "family platter". When I get home, I'm EVEN more DISAPPOINTED.. what do I find for this $100 "family platter" you ask??? 6 baby rib bones 3 slices of brisket 10 cut up sausage pieces 2 decent sized thing of sides 4 containers of sauce that you have to pick out??? (Good bbq doesn't require sauces IMO) AND for some reason a WHOLE LOAF of Texas toast??? Now let me tell you this is the MOST disappointment I've ever been in a restaurant. The portions are extremely small. This was NOT a family platter IMO. The food had no seasoning or taste. It was essentially boiled meat that you HAD to dip in one of their sauces to get any type of satisfaction. The only good thing that we had was the Texas toast...We ate 3 half slices of the a loaf of Texas toast- WHO needs this much bread??? This place should not call itself a barbecue restaurant in any capacity. They should consider only selling the Texas toast since that was the only thing good and of substance. But at the end of the day- I'm so glad that I got this place out of the way. This was very expensive(for what you get) and disappointing lesson learned. The search continues for good BBQ in this state, If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE share them. And GOOD LUCK Petey's BBQ...

We went for dinner and I was very impressed with their wide selection. I got the dill pickle chicken sandwich and thought the chicken sandwich was really crispy and I really liked their aioli with my fries. I didn't really taste the dill of the pickle spread, however, if you want the dill you can get the dill pickle pizza which one of our friends got and really enjoyed. Husband got the Bacon Patty Melt and he enjoyed it and our other friend got one of the dishes from the tacos, bowls and naan section, which we discovered you can get any of those made as those three options, which I thought was such a cool way to make the menu fit everyone. I actually didn't have any beer but I did have a couple cocktails off the spring cocktail menu and loved both. My friends really enjoyed the Lime Bubble beer and were excited they could buy some to bring back to Wisconsin. The server was the right amount of attentive, we ate inside and I like the mix of restaurant and brewery vibe they had going on. Will definitely go back.

The interior is giving industrial sports bar vibes, with TVs playing your favorite game, and wood/metal accents throughout the space. Bar, hightop, and table seating indoors. We didn't have a wait at 6pm on a Saturday evening. Staff was busy, but checked in often and were friendly throughout the stay! Lots of beer options, as well as a full bar! I had the Coffee Ale, which was lovely! Subtle notes of coffee in a smooth sipper. Enjoyed the Dill Pickle Chicken Sandwich for dinner, which was a great portion, savory, and delicious. Overall, a really solid meal! Our only constructive criticism was that the Onion Soup that my partner ordered came out luke warm, which was less than desirable. If we wanted to make a fuss, we could have sent it back, but decided against that!

WOWOWOW this place never disappoints, SO GOOD!…read more Today we sat on their rooftop patio, which was perfectly shaded and such a great spot to relax on a nice day. We did wait downstairs for around 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us, then told us we could just head up.. it was a bit odd. As a vegetarian, I'm constantly searching for a genuinely good veggie burger, and I truly think I've found the best one in Minneapolis here. Soo many restaurants treat vegetarian options like an afterthought, but definitely not B-52. I ordered the veggie burger on the Trashy with fried pickles and cream cheese, and it was AMAZING. Seriously one of the best burgers I've had in a long time, vegetarian or not. I also ordered an espresso martini and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Between the rooftop patio, creative menu, and standout vegetarian options, this place has quickly become one of our favorites. Already looking forward to coming back again when we're in the area.

The metal chairs were a bit loud to push in and out from the tables but fairly comfortable and wide to sit in. Easy to find seating on a Tuesday lat afternoon/evening. Our server was nice and let us know about the specialties of the day. We went for the $5 spicy margaritas. They were okay. Tasted a little watered down and not too spicy, which I'd say were all in all not so exciting. We had the lemon pepper chicken wings which had good flavor but felt dry. My beet salad was unimpressive. I'd even say it lacked a decent amount of beets. Where were the beets?!!? My boyfriend had the B52 burger which he really enjoyed but felt was a tad spicy from all of the jalapeño, but once he removed those from it, he was very pleased. Our service was a little slower that I would have liked. I would have ordered another drink had she came back to our table and asked us.

Jersey's is always a go-to when looking for a place to see the game or grab a few cheap drinks…read more They have consistent food, well priced drinks, and good service. That being said I don't think there's any dish I'd come here specifically for, but I haven't had anything bad and that's a good sign right? Don't expect anything fancy at Jersey's by the way. This is a classic divey bar. The patio has gotten super nice over the last couple of years but other than that take it for what it is. You're not coming here for a fancy dinner with a host and fancy kitchen staff. You're coming here for a dive bar experience with consistent food and cheaper drinks. It's also a fun place for live shows on Saturday nights. I have a friend in a band that has done a few shows here. Sound isn't amazing but that makes sense with the acoustics of the venue. It really has the mid-level garage band vibe going for it, which I personally appreciate!

My boyfriend had the Big Kahuna! It was incredible! I highly suggest it! It stayed together really well even with all of the cream cheese! So good! And Cajun fries on the side. I had the carb buster salad. It was good but I think I would have preferred sliced steak over the burger on it. Bar atmosphere but not bad and not too busy during lunch on a Tuesday. This place was surprisingly way better than expected.

The place itself looked nice, the parking lot was a decent size, and the food was actually pretty good. The wings had good flavor, my wife really enjoyed the flatbread, and the taco salad was decent too. The two young ladies at the hostess stand were probably the highlight of the visit because they were welcoming and friendly from the start. After we were seated though, the atmosphere felt different. A member of management in a red Surly shirt kept staring at my wife and I in a way that honestly made us uncomfortable. Our server also wasn't very warm or friendly during the visit. When our appetizer came out, the employee asked if we needed anything else while already walking away before we could even answer. Then later the busser walked right past our table with plates sitting there and cleared another table farther away instead. I'm a veteran and not someone who usually gets bothered easily, but the overall feeling we got during our visit just didn't sit right with me. Maybe it wasn't intentional, but it definitely gave us vibes that made us uncomfortable enough that we won't be coming back. Which is unfortunate because the food itself was pretty good.
