Great food always cooked right with fast service only wish they were open on a Sunday.

A few days after the Quarantine started and we could no longer eat in restaurants me and my friend took a drive to LA we ended up in this parking lot so I decided to try it since I love Mediterranean food. The cashier was a young girl she was very nice. I ordered the full chicken kebab (but swapped one of the chicken kebabs for a steak)... And hummus and pita bread. It was kind of pricey for lunch it was 24.09 but it was enough food for two meals. The food was really good I wish I would have gotten two steak kebabs the rice was addicting and the pita and hummus I ate that throughout the rest of the night it was delicious!! I probably won't be back to El Segundo anytime soon but if I ever do come back I would definitely come here!! read more

One of the best gyros I have had in LA, but as others have noted beware it is VERY greasy. Prices are maybe slightly higher than they should be, but still pretty reasonable in general. How come this place isn't 5 stars? (Oh, I read the reviews... bad customer services you say...) but, the food here is at least a 4 stars! We come here often for lunch. They give you a lot of food and you think you are going to get fat eating these almost daily. But no! They give you all healthier foods compare to most other food options in the area. And you see this plate of mostly greens that I ordered? It is the falafels vegetarian plate. I am not vegetarian. And when I saw the grape leaves salad. Honest. I was a little worried. Then I ate some of that with the hummus and broke some falafel bites to dip in that ? Sesame sauce. My worries just melt away. This dish is really good! Petit Cafe surprised me; not because it's small, but because it's Mediterranean and more. The "famous" Gyros are the advertised attraction and, indeed, the thick slices of Lamb (original) meat were tasty. However, the menu offers plenty of other options as well including Breakfast Served All Day with Omelettes, Pancakes, Burritos, or good old Steak & Eggs. It was a quiet Tuesday night and I stopped for dinner. Based on what others were getting the Grilled Cheese Steaks or the Gyros were popular, so, the Original Gyros Plate with Basmati Rice, Greek Salad, Hummus, and Pita Bread was my choice. The mound of meat was massive and paired well with the Garlic Sauce. The hummus and pita were filling. For just over $13, I was stuffed ... although, I kind of wish now I had gotten a Baklava to go. The order counter is next to the grill, so, you can see the food being prepared. After paying, just grab a seat and wait for them to call you with your food. Several of my friends who work in the Aerospace and Defense industry wanted to meet here for breakfast. I was expecting to arrive at a small cafe that offered unique and bistro style foods. Instead, I got a bit confused. This was not a cafe. Instead, you walked into the restaurant and you were greeted by 6-7 bar stool seats, and a ordering-counter that separated the seating from the open kitchen. (The feeling in here was like walking into a Del Taco). I was confused at what the establishment specialized in. The menus were a mix of Mediterranean, American, Mexican, and others... The majority of the lunch and dinner menu was Mediterranean food - gyros, wraps, taboule, etc. We were there for breakfast, so they offered American and Mexican style items - pancakes, steak sandwiches, Mexican style breakfast burritos, eggs/sausage/waffles, etc. I think they are trying to expand the menu so that they could appease many types of customers. That didn't work for me. My colleagues and I ordered two steak sandwiches and a breakfast burrito. Each were about $6.95. The steak sandwiches were open white baguettes that were topped with thin meat, lettuece, fried egg, tomatoes and served with a home made salsa. Everything that needed to be cooked was fried on the skillet. I ended up eating only half of my sandwich because it was filled with grease. This may be the perfect sandwich for some people, but I didn't enjoy my meal. The breakfast burrito was a generous portion of beans, rice, and other breakfast stuff. Also served with salsa. I had lunch with few of my work colleagues based on their recommendation so gave it a shot. It's nothing special but small little place checked into strip mall on sepulveda in El Segundo. The name itself gives you hint "Petit" is a French term for "small" and this place is tiny as hell, with few people inside, it can get very crowded and uneasy. Food: Had better Mediterranean Food at other places but this place isn't bad for once or twice if you're close by. I ordered Salmon Kabob which had about 6-7 individual salmon pieces, lot of white rice, salad on the side (see the picture). Salmon was seasoned well, very tender and easy to bite. Service: Was a guy at the cashier when I went in, quick, friendly and recommends if you ask any questions. Food came out quickly, you can actually watch dishes being grilled through the window (see the picture) Space: There are about 7-8 small tables with 2 chairs for each table but close to each other and all high tops. One day I wish to rub elbows with Walton and Farmar *sigh* Yes, my chances are slim but hey a girl can dream right? I tend to get the Rib Eye Beef Kabob platter, but I also like their chicken or beef gyros. The place is pretty small so I tend to order take-out especially during the lunch rush. Came to Petit Cafe a couple weeks ago while "looking for something different" for lunch. I settled on this place, mainly out of mystery and not anything else. The place is small, mostly kitchen and counter, with a few tables. Offers Mediterranean and a little bit more. Kind of eclectic menu of mostly kabobs, plates, Gyros, but also Omelettes, Pancakes, Burritos, or Steak & Eggs. Breakfast is available all day, while is nice. I ordered a chicken skewer plate, with hummus and salad. The portions were pretty big. It took about 15 minutes to make, but that's kind-of a good thing because chicken really should be cooked fully and any chicken cooked BEFORE people order it is just rubbery and nasty. The meat was good, and lots of it. The hummus was fresh and had a nice citrus note. The salad was a little dull, limp, and blah...but hey salad! I added some of their garlic sauce, that helped overall with the flavors. All-in-all for about $15, I got a huge lunch, from a friendly place...cannot complain about that. I'll go again...! This is one of the only reasons I come to El Segundo for, I have been eating here since 1999 and to see the quality maintained over the years is really an art in the restaurant business. Many food establishments seem to lower quality in order to increase profits, but this has never been the case here, their rib-eye kabobs are sooo tender my mouth is watering just thinking about it. You honestly cannot go wrong with their menu choices and the portions you receive with your meal really represent the statement "You get what you pay for." Located in a strip mall with too many businesses and tight spots (yep, I hate this lot). BUT, always worth it when we got that Gyro craving. This cook was disrespectful! This was my second time here. Due to digestive issues, I can't eat large portions. So, like last time I asked that they split my gyro salad in half. It wasn't a problem last time. Today, it was. The cook proceeded to scrutinize my request in front of other patrons asking me who honored my request previously and when I last visited as if to imply I was lying. I had take out many times in 2008 till 2016 from this then amazing Greek or Middle East restaurant then for some reason I didn't go there since then. Had I rated this restaurant then, it would have been a perfect 5. Today my daughter had cabin fever n her kids were restless during this lock down she decided to visit me, I came across pictures of glorious meals from this restaurant I asked her to bring me some kabobs. We had: 1) chicken delight $13 there's nothing delightful about this. It was like gyro shavings, so bland n tasted like wood shavings! Not edible , I tossed it out in the trash. 2) steak delight, same shavings type just different meat, why didn't they marinate it ir at least add salt. I sautéed it n added 2 different seas salts from Italy n France, I also fried the pita it then tasted acceptable. 3) Steak kabob I think it was $14. They claimed it was marinated n grilled, it could be grilled but didn't taste it because it was old, most likely reheated don't it was bone dry n overcooked. 4) salad dressing was awful, it used to be amazing. What happened? Did they change ownership? Or was it because of lock down it was not the regular cook but someone else winging it? Its located in a tiny strip mall center with almost a dozen other tiny one stop restaurants who only survive because of the corporate buildings nearby. Talking to the guy at the register always leaves me confused as his facial expressions rarely change. I got the chicken gyro plate and it was okay. And it's a bit pricey for what you get - my plate was $9.99. It came with a pile of fries, the gyro wrap (plenty of meat/tzatziki sauce and tomatos and red onions) and a small cup for a drink. They're experts at wrapping up those gyro's though, I almost thought they bought them pre-packaged via a machine, but the window view of the grill says differently as I got to watch my gyro being prepared and cooked. They tend to cook the same meats on the same griddle so for those of you looking to not mix your meat products this might cause a slight issue. I used to eat here frequently, but I got tired of laundering all of my shirts afterwards. Every time I order something from this place, I end up spilling/dripping/dropping something on my shirt. I even had to throw one away. I love their kabobs and gyros. They used to have a plate with a gyro and potatoes with onions and peppers. The potatoes were awesome, but super oily. (They were the reason I had to throw the shirt away.) The tzatziki on the gyros is good, but a little too thin. I stopped going because of the oiliness of some of the food and the TINY place. We just had a quick dinner here. Mediterranean style dishes. We had a lamb gyro and chicken kabob. The ingredients were fresh. The chicken was moist and tender. The lamb had just the right consistency. Both were very nicely seasoned with great flavor. We also had hummus which was very delicious and fresh. Very very nice compliment to the meal. On a whim , I said why not I have time before my meeting. Front counter lady was super nice and patient. I had the Chicken gyro salad and it was just right. Very light and yet filling. The person next to me had the full on gyro plate with potatoes and it looked delicious. I will come back for sure and try something different.
