I have been coming here for a while now whenever I have the opportunity. I do like and appreciate that they offer gluten free donuts as someone that cannot eat wheat/gluten and finding them is a treat. The GF donuts are very good. I have been disappointed with coming a few times and all the gluten free donuts are gone, today I was there around 9am and there were none. It's not right around the corner for me so that was a bummer. Navigation dropped me at Mariano's storefront and then I realized there are businesses on the side of that building so drive around the corner. This place is such a gem. From the moment you walk in to the moment you are tasting. Love the interior, the bathrooms were clean and cute. Even the soap dispenser was nice. Details my friends. The long doughnut viewing window provides so many options. It's really about your mood and what you want. I love the unique flavors. Prices are cheap! $3-4 a doughnut. This is way more quality than Dunkin' would ever be able to be. If you squawk at that price think about how much store bought mass produced doughnuts cost. They have vegan and regular doughnuts. Very nice donut shop with plentiful offerings. Came here to try a new place and got the burnt and salty donut. The donut was moist and favorable and not overly sweet. I definitely would get this again. We also got the cinnamon coffee cake, and as a coffee cake fan, I loved this as well. I highly recommend this location for sweet tooth people. The owner made our experience better by visiting us at our table. We had a nice conversation, which made the experience even more enjoyable. First time here, I loved it! My two year old did as well. Very clean and spacious seating environment. I like that it is bright and open, makes it more of a relaxing experience. The caramel latte was delicious! The perfect amount of sweetness. I got the campfire donut and a cinnamon donut to go. The campfire donut was vanilla cake with a chocolate outside. Who loves donuts, I do! I've been by here numerous times, but I never stopped in. It's around the corner from Marianos (same strip mall). New York and Eola have heavy traffic in the morning and mid afternoon, so plan accordingly!. It's not a huge place, and it definitely reminds me of the donut places out in Seattle and Portland. It's bright, well lit, and clean. The employee working in the store helped as quickly; I think she was the only staff on duty since she was in and out of the backroom frequently. It wasn't busy. There was 1 other customer that came in during the 30 minutes my fiancee and I were there. They are reasonably priced, and the donuts are average size. I had the cake donut, it was alright. They had maybe 8 or so ither donuts to choose from. However, I really enjoyed the triple mocha coffee, though. Delicious! The bathrooms were clean, and they did have outdoor seating. Super cute donut shop with amazing food and coffee! I recently tried the BEC breakfast sandwich and it was out of this world! I always get the iced pumpkin spice latte during the fall and it is truly the best I've ever had. If it is not fall, I usually get the vanilla cream cold brew which is also outstanding. My go to doughnut is the burnt and salty (yum) but honestly all of them that I've tried have been so good! The only negative about this place is that the service can be very slow sometimes and you might have to wait a while for your food/beverages even if there aren't a lot of customers waiting. This place was just so mouthwatering good! One of the best donuts I've had in Illinois (I've tried quiet a few!). They have such unique flavors and the combination of some of the ingredients is just genius! I first got the orange burst and it had cinnamon, orange syrup and powder. The cake donut was so moist and these ingredients together just burst in my mouth, just like name implied! I took the dreamy matcha and olive pistachio home for my husband and those were just delicious as well! The olive pistachio is such a good combo. We were wowed by these. Plus the dreamy matcha was just picture worthy. I got the horchata latte. I like my Drinks Sweet and if you do too, you should get this. If not, you should get something else. But that sweetness really woke me up and gave me a sugar rush. There's plenty of seating inside and very spacious with the tables along both sides of the walls. Had been following the updates about this shop opening for a few months as I was excited for a gourmet doughnut option closer to me and finally found myself out in the Fox Valley area early enough in the day to give them a try so I decided to go ahead and get a half dozen sampler of sorts. My takeaway is that certain options are a lot better than others. The strawberry hibiscus cheesecake was surprisingly my favorite. That cheesecake cream was so tasty I kind of wish you could order a little dipping cup of it. I also liked the maple bacon, celebration cake and samosa-esque one. Unfortunately the flavor choices I took a chance on turned out to be the ones I liked the least. Had high hopes for the jalapeño cornbread and olive pistachio especially since I really enjoy spicy sweets and olives but they just didn't really work for me. The cake and icings have pretty distinctive flavors that I suspect could be polarizing to some but I liked the overall product. I also feel like some might say that these doughnuts are priced too high but I think that they're actually pretty reasonable for the quality of ingredients and being hand dipped/available all day. I'm not necessarily clamoring to get back to Petit Three soon but I could see myself stopping by again to give their other offerings a try. read more

It's great to have a craft donut shop in the area. They have flavors like Blueberry Basil, Dreamy Matcha, Maple Bacon, Jalapeno Cornbread, and even one with Browned Butter and Miso! Petit Three Doughnuts was started by the wife of a friend of mine, so I wanted to see how the food was. When I walked in, the cashier and owner were incredibly nice and helpful. They helped explain the menu and why these doughnuts are so special. Because I checked in on the Yelp app, I got a free celebration donut. Thanks Yelp! The doughnuts, made with a sour cream base, were delicous. The Samoa was my favorite. You could really taste the freshness. The hot chocolate was a work of art. They used Ghardeli and Guitard chocolate, smoked a marshmallow, and added a Graham cracker crouton. This is one of the best hot chocolates I've ever had. Petit Three is a delicious locally owned gourmet doughnut shop. I have had a few of their donuts at my hospital and came in for a Yelp Elite experience. It has been on my list to visit them in person. Bilin, the owner, is awesome and a perfect example of going after your dreams. She created all the recipes herself and all of the flavors are so unique and fresh. Each of these doughnuts have almost a cake like texture that makes them so moist and still yummy even a few days later. I ordered the Campfire Party which is a play on smores. I paired it with the horchata latte which is homemade and it was amazing! The cinnamon horchata flavor is literally perfection. I also ordered a half dozen for my family to try and got the Blueberry Basil, Burnt & Salty, Cinnamon Coffee Cake, Samoa, Olive Pistachio, and Strawberry Shortbread. My favorite by far was the Samoa and the Olive Pistachio! The shop itself is beautifully decorated with themes of blue and white. But what I love especially is that you can tell that each doughnut is carefully crafted with talent! The owner loves what she does. A much needed donut shop in the area! I haven't had a cake donut this good in Illinois, I usually have to travel to Wisconsin for these so it's such a happy surprise to have this local spot. It was my first time in & I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner who was incredibly sweet. The space is charming, bright, and very clean. There's quite a bit of seating inside as well if you felt like meeting with friends or getting some work done. I opted for the Samoa (my favorite, SOOO good) and the Strawberry Shortbread donut (also incredibly good), and the iced horchata latte. Everything was incredible. I tried the maple bacon athe dreamy matcha and the caramel latte. The maple bacon dough was absolutely delicious and it went perfectly with the caramel latte. Saw Petit Three on Instagram and I had to give them a try! Locally owned gourmet donut shop, you can tell they put love in their stuff. All their donuts are made in house and sometimes you can watch them glazing them. Finding a fresh and made-from-scratch donut is hard to find. Or if you find one, the hours are so terrible (especially when you work the graveyard shift), that they don't work with your schedule. However, Petit Three is breaking all the rules and I am a huge fan of it. After two weeks with our first newborn baby, our fridge was getting bare and we needed some fresh air. Petite Three was the perfect example to leave the house. The location was very easy to find. It is by Marianos so you can easily do some grocery shopping before or after. The location is not inside Marianos..but outside and to the side of it. Parking is plentiful for that same reason. It is shared with multiple stores, and even shared with Marianos if their parking is full Inside is very bright, clean and friendly. I love the white and air-ness of the building. They have triple filtered water if you are not a fan of coffee and tea. I entered the building and was immediately welcomed with friendly staff. There was a lovely lady who explained the donuts and everything you could imagine since we told her it was our first time here. Of course, I had to get some extra donuts for my wife too to support the building. Overall, the donuts were freshly made and they were consistently making more. There were some flavors that we didn't see on the display case, but she said they were making more so they were placed on display yet. However, that didn't stop her from getting me those flavors. For the Yelp event, I chose the Cacao on Choc. It was delicious... freshly made and not frozen. For my latte, I saw Caramel Latte which was also delicious. Sweet and not boiling hot. Overall, my wife did get the Samoa donut. She dislikes coconut and dislikes caramel. However, she loves Samoa cookies (go figure!)...and she said those donuts are currently her favorite. All staff members that we talked to were very friendly and engaging. I think we talked with the owner as well briefly. However, as a newborn parent...our conversations were short and I was too tired to remember what we talked about... In the end, I am a huge fan of Petit Three. Ambitious donut and cupcake restos have been a "thing" for a while now. As Dunkin' has fallen to "central production", where nothing is cooked on premises, and "Chef Mike" is the entire Kitchen, that once-grand pitstop has sunk to "avoid" status. It's hard to find a good donut these days. Another phenomenon is upscale neighborhoods in the same locales as blue-collar ones, and the Todds and Karens have to patronize places they believe are commensurate with their solipsistic existences. Away from the "Grabowskis", you know. So you have a posh Donut joint (or at least a donut joint arching to be posh) in the same row as pizza joints and Asian nail parlors. A peacock on the same perch with robins. I grew up in the West Burbs of Chicago, where there was a Czech bakery on every corner. Fiercely proud establishments, where corners were never cut, and quality was assured. We have gourmet bakery in our blood, but we were never aware of it. A tall bar to hurdle. I had to stop here and try this place, even though I had an inkling what I would find. That said, I always walk in the door with a tabula rasa palate-I'll always give them a chance. My suspicions were accurate: Run-of-the-mill donuts with eclectic shit piled on top of them. Expensive as hell, too. And, ultimately, nothing to write home about. The donut was small, as the name of the shop implies, but great quality. Not greasy; it was crisp and bursting with flavor. All of their donut flavors are unique. And they have gluten-free donuts.
