Can we say delicious? Visited here by recommendation of a friend. The menu was vast and overall kid friendly! The staff was delightful even though we showed up an hour before they close. The food was quick preventing a restless child from going crazy waiting. Place was clean, good distance between the tables for easy stroller navigation. High chair was provided. Even though there wasn't a kids menu the menu provided was very kid friendly. There was too many items myself and the littles would love to dive into. Had the gluten free biscuits and gravy. This location has plenty of seating outdoor and indoor. The outdoor area has heaters to keep you warm. The service was quick and efficient. The food was absolutely delicious. I immediately felt welcomed by the staff and the waiter was extremely polite and attentive. This would be a good place for groups up to 4, otherwise there is more room outside for larger parties. The west coast Benedict was amazing! Good portion of grilled salmon and avocado inside. Top half of the croissant is crispy and the bottom gets a bit saucier which was a good mix with the eggs. You get to pick from a few different sides; I chose the hash browns which were done well. Some crispy bits. Ask for ketchup on the side. Omelette was pretty big and we ended up taking half of it to-go. It came with a croissant on the side with jam super delicious. The back half of the restaurant is their bakery storefront and we grabbed a beignet and fruit/jam filled croissant to-go as well! We were prepared for slow service based on reading the other reviews, and it was definitely the case (at least for us, on Sunday for brunch, on Father's Day lol) so no points docked for that. Not sure what other regular days are like but they seem to get busy. There was never really a wait even on the day I went, the interior is really big + outdoor seating as well, and probably needs an extra server or so but generally okay. read more

You know, I always forget just how many locations around Portland this place has. For some reason I've yet to be to this one until today when we were in the mood for a late lunch, but really just incredibly expensive croissant. Now I'm not saying that in a bad way don't give me wrong. I've been known to buy the massive packs from Costco and down them like a duck next to a pond. But when you see these beautifully twisted beautifully flavored croissants, you know it's a different level. I do a lot of baking and I've yet to make croissants never been great at dealing with layered butter, so I can really respect the beauty that they put here. I mean when you look at the pistachio or the fruit flavored ones they look too beautiful to eat. On a sidenote, if you look in the photo I put down it seems like somebody is really slacking on the pastry department. I mean the French macarons were just sloppy and some blown out, the Pavlova could not have been shaped worse, and overall the edge is on so many of the dessert just look sloppy I mean, I'm sure they all tasted delicious but when you're paying 6,7,8 dollars for something from here, you're really kind of want it to be that beautiful pitch perfect that it normally is. This isn't the normal experience and I also didn't order any of those but just an odd thing to notice. First time in this super cute location off Sandy. They have a really awesome outdoor seating situation with heaters. We opted to go inside because it was pretty windy. We came for a girls brunch and were seated right away. The service was a little slow but they were busy so we understood. The food was excellent! Those croissants are divine and the raspberry compote adds the perfect sweet touch. I opted for the Day breaker with chicken sausage and fresh fruit. The sausage was really delicious I wasn't expecting this type of patty but I was pleasantly surprised. Gave 4 stars because I think our particular server was the issue. We got their rasberry mojito french toast, salted caramel rum coffee, corned beef hash, west coast benedict. All of them were great except we found the french toast was too sweet. They had a cute bakery inside. Our server was essentially non existent. We asked to sit outdoors on patio but after a really long wait, we had to go inside to place order and afterwards, go inside to pay because the server went MIA. Been to many Petit Provence/La Provence around the area but this one might be the coziest one yet. The space is on the smaller side but that does add to the coziness of the location. It wasn't as bustling for a weekend lunch/brunch compared to other locations as well, a big plus. We got seated immediately. Their menu is standard across all locations. Everytime I wish this institution I always get a new thing so I did just that this time around as well. Our coffee came quickly, followed by freshly a toasted toast and a flaky crossiant. Gotta say that this the best crossiant I've had at a Petit Provence/La Provence. Normally, I find their crossiant very bready and stale but this one was the opposite: warm, crispy, and buttery. Our dishes came soon after. My Chef's Omlet was fluffy and full of cheese, bacon, and sausage. The flavors were great, a simple American breakfast profile. Had an absolutely nice, relaxing time here. I love every single thing here, over the years I've never had a bad experience. They make great pastries, their French onion soup is killer, the mocha is among hubs favorite as he is a mocha dude. Recently had breakfast for the first time and had the smoked salmon hash. The toasted croissant that arrives first with strawberry compote was excellent! Made it been a few months since we ran here about six I think food quality has declined noticeably I had a salad with the chicken on it. They've changed the recipe and to top it off. They no longer freshly prepare the chicken just before the salad. The fried chicken was cooked maybe an hour or so earlier and barely warm. I thought that was their intent, but the waiter informed me that they were freshly cooking their chicken. Well, he was sadly misinformed. Went here for brunch. I went very early at like 830 am so it was pretty empty. I had the chorizo hash and it was delicious. It came with a croissant which came with some type of delicious berry compote. It was all really good and filling. I had some to take home. It was pretty chill place, looked like a little bakery cafe. My one complaint is that they did not have hot sauce. They said it was the house hot sauce but there was nothing hot about it. The risotto in the risotto cakes was extremely over cooked and unrecognizable. The hashbrowns were completely undercooked and had no seasoning. Hashbrowns should be a staple of any breakfast place and it's not a good sign when a brunch spot cant get something so simple right. The squash was over cooked and also had no seasoning. Had to ask for some hot sauce to add some flavor to the bland potatoes. Turns out their homemade hot sauce is also pretty bland. I also ordered a 'spicy' Bloody Mary. They charge you an extra $1 to make it spicy but it was not spicy at all. I think all they did was add some Tajin on the rim. Anyway, sad to say I can't recommend this place for the food. Our favorites are the Wild Northwest Salmon Hash, the Chef's Omelette, the Mushroom and Chevre Omelette, and the Chorizo Hash Scramble. All carefully prepared. I'd never had any thing to drink there, other than coffee so, my wife and I both ordered the spicy bloody Mary. It was rimmed with some spices and salt. Mine was really salty. I thought that maybe it was just the rim, so I wiped all the stuff off the rim and had another sip. Still really salty. For breakfast I had the risotto cakes with poached eggs and my wife had the corned beef hash. My food was pretty good but definitely not as good as the baked egg dish I had had the first time I was there. The corned beef hash that my wife ordered was really good. This is a very interesting place. Although lovely, it just wasn't what I was expecting. The prices are definitely a lot more than I was expecting for what was given. Let's just start there. However the juices are fabulous. I tried the Sunset and it was delicious. My aunt had the orange juice and it was sweet and worth every sip. The meals ordered included... -Daybreaker, eggs were overcooked when asking for over easy and it was made over medium. A slight disappointment however still a runny yolk I guess. -Monte Cristo, delicious, but definitely wish more jam was given for this. -Corned Beef Hash, asked for no eggs and, they came scrambled (which was for the last plate) Huge disappointment. -Potatoes and Eggs- it was basic! (Without the drinks lol) Here they charge $17.50 for toast, couple poached eggs, feta, and a side of hash browns. That gave zero left overs. Was a bit steep. Food was good. We were looking for restaurant that offered fresh salads and sandwiches. We found Petite Provence on Yelp and we were close to the NE Sandy Blvd location. I walked in and ordered a BLT sandwich with fries and a Chicken Mediterranean salad. The restaurant did a great job with spacing for social distancing, the staff was very pleasant and I got the food in a timely manner. My husbanded and I split the BLT and salad. The BLT was on a croissant and it was delicious - good flavors and tasty altogether. I'm a salad person and I thought the ingredients were fresh and flavors balanced. I ended up eating more of the salad while my husband ate the sandwich. I would go there again and try their Monte Cristo sandwich! read more

Stopped by over the weekend for some brunch with my s/o. Had a mimosa and some coffee (they have great coffee). Ordered a scramble with squash (!) and potatoes on the side. Delightful. I only felt bad that I could not finish more nor take it with us as we were traveling. Service was fast and waitstaff was courteous. I recommend sitting outside if you can on a nice day! Picked up a couple of tiny cakes for a birthday celebration. One was Versailles and the other was Black Beauty. Versailles has a coffee flavor to the cake and frosting and a little cream layer inside. It was for my Mom's birthday and she loves coffee and loved it. I don't like coffee but really enjoyed the all chocolate Black Beauty. Highly recommend both. Never seen this. "2% Surcharge applies, going directly to hourly kitchen staff." So I normally tip when picking up things so maybe I don't need to here? Why don't they just add a little to all the items for sale and pay their staff more? That was the odd part. Since the cakes were wonderful and worth every penny. Tip was at 9:30 am on a Sunday they didn't seem too busy at this location for brunch. read more

Ever since coming back from actual Provence this place has had even more of an allure. The food in Frances Provence region is gastronomical and Petite Provence does it's absolute best to recreate that experience. On this particular day, my wife and I ordered the salmon hash and the French toast and we were nothing short of impressed. The hash (which I'd had once before) was tasteful to the last bite and the French toast with its caramelized bananas and walnuts had to have been the best breakfast staple I've ever had. The iced americano and pineapple mimosa were both equally wonderful. If I had to ding anything it was what actually really brought us here which were the almond croissants. These were our daily habit in France. Here they were just 'ok'. The lamination on the pastry separated a bit and there wasn't nearly as much almond filling. They finally have a lovely outdoor space -- looks like they have a big heater system, though it was nice out and not on -- so we stopped by for brunch on a Saturday. The quality of the food is good, though the portions are frankly TOO big. I'd rather spend a little less for half the amount of food. I loved the (absurdly generous) breakfast gnocchi, though it's awfully dry until you pierce the eggs, and even then was considerably helped by the hot sauce offered (which was not hot but had good flavor). But it was a little crispy and very satisfying. The chorizo hash my spouse ordered was also enormous (and also a little dry, but pretty flavorful). I'm not sure I saw anyone around us finish their food. The pancake stack and French toast nearby were monstrous. Outdoor service was a little confusing/chaotic with at least 4 different people visiting our table for various tasks, but we weren't ignored and it was all friendly. We'll be back as we live in the neighborhood and always appreciate outdoor options! read more

I've passed by this location many times, but never gotten a chance to dine in. I've always had pleasant experiences at other locations. I came in just to pick up some pastries. The hostess was very very nice, and had asked if I was dining in or picking up and then sent me on my way. I wish I could say the same for the rest of the staff. I was standing behind a customer who ordered a drink. After their drink was made, the barista/cashier decided to take a lap around the restaurant, stopping to chat with the hostess for a hot minute, then circling back to clean the coffee/tea area. I have never had this happen. After all of this I finally got acknowledged with "just a minute". And the wait continued. He definitely saw me before he finished the previous customer's drink. I wanted to leave, but I thought I had made it this far. The whole interaction with the barista/cashier was very cold and just not friendly whatsoever. On a plus side, the pastries were great though. Was it worth the wait? Not really. I regret not leaving after I saw the barista/cashier stop to talk to the hostess. I stopped in another time to pick up pastries again and had a totally different experience with someone else. I think the experience above was just a one-time thing. read more
