Horrible customer service. When you call you get directed to a call center. Can't call the store directly to figure out cost for a dog. I live 5 hours away and they won't disclose a price as they don't do that over the phone, in store only. Bad business practice for a customer who has purchased 2 dogs from Petland before and willing to buy a third if I knew the price before driving 10 hours in 1 day. So now after having the dog for almost a year, they did complete fraud. Wrote down that we paid half upfront and half check. When half was paid upfront and the rest was suppose to be financed. We asked for the financing papers we never even saw because they got our bank info straight from the contract. They forged my boyfriends signature for a financing company that charges 153% interest. It wasn't even a signature it was his name in print and it's not even his handwriting. We are seeking legal action. We are not the only people they have done this to. Do not buy a pet from this Petland store! Presidents' Day weekend 2023 I purchased a silver Labrador for $5K. 2 days later the pet was sick and required multiple vet visits. He was diagnosed with a laundry list of conditions. Petland corporate refuses to reimburse me for the almost $1,000 in fees I incurred as a result of them selling me a sick dog. They will only reimburse for medicine ($200). They said I can return the dog but they will not refund me. I can't even get pet insurance due to pre existing conditions. Their claims solutions department referred me to their attorneys office. The guy specializes in defending corrupt pet stores his email extension is @petretailers.com. No surprise. We have suffered so much through all of this. I am hoping this post can help others. read more

I went today to see the puppies. I go there often, and the place has always been "clean enough". Today my experience was terrible for the strong smell of excrement and above all for the condition of the puppies. They are very badly kept. More than 5 puppies in the same dirty cage and feeding on their excrement. There were two staff members who, instead of taking care of them, did nothing. I would never buy a puppy from PetLand. I'm sorry for the bad condition and how these poor puppies have to live the first months of life. Shame! Animals are not treated like this! Be aware of the training program. First, you are going to receive a document saying that the dogs should have all the vaccines. I waited for my dog to have rabies to begin the program. Turns out, they do not ask for any proof of vaccine. In my dog's class, the trainer let a puppy that was 9 weeks old, clearly, without all the vaccines because of the age, play with the dogs. They want you to drive to one of their shops before they give you any info. After making me watch a presentation on an ipad of all the "extras you get with a puppy purchase", they proceeded to tell me that they are asking $9000.00!!! This is unheard of!!! They also proceeded to tell me that since we are in the middle of the Covid Pandemic, the breeders aren't breeding their dogs as much as they normally would be. I see this as price gauging during a pandemic. Beware...they will try to talk you into financing in order to get the price that works for you. If ever you need a break from the real world, stop by Petland, appointment or not, and have a play date with these freaking ADORABLE puppies!!!! Every single one is cuter than the next. What's not so cute is the price. Literally a down payment on a car. Where the cheapest dog is $5,500 and could go as high at $7K or higher. Seriously ridiculous. Fair warning, the will not give you any pricing over the phone and will make you come in to give you a presentation and essentially waste your time if that is way above your budget like it was ours. I'm sorry but no cute doggy is worth that much. No matter if they get vaccines included, if they give you the paperwork, if they are 100% pure breeds, if they give you a discount to a dog hotel, if they cover a few trips to the groomer, etc. On a positive note, they do a great job maintaining the location clean and it doesn't smell like a pet store at all. Plus the staff is nice. I forgot the name of the gentleman that helped us but he was great and had so much patience with us. And we understand that it's his job to give the presentation and hype up the experience but just cut to the chase and break the very expensive news to us. read more

I'm happy with my puppy even given the fact that it is sourced from a puppy mill (they sugarcoat things to seem like that isn't the case), but was really dissatisfied me is that after spending nearly $7k on a puppy and home coming kit they forgot to include the crate cover that comes in the kit. I asked if they could deliver the crate cover to me since I live nearly 2 hours away, however, their customer service response was that they don't deliver. Spend $7k and they can't drop a pitiful $20 to deliver the crate cover that I purchased from them and they forgot to include in my bundle. To all future puppy buyers, research the "breeders". If the breed of record certificate says that the distributor is Blue Ribbon Puppies, google then google Blue Ribbon Puppies and you will realize they are notorious for puppy mill sourcing. read more

Only when clients arrive at your store they find out that your dogs have priced around 5000 dollars. If you are thinking of getting a puppy or any kind of pet please please PLEASE go somewhere else, do not support this company!! You can adopt or you can buy a puppy from a reputable place. I get it. The employees here are nice (maybe a little pushy, im guessing their pay includes commission) but it is completely different when it comess to puppy care. I've been here a couple times, it usually always smells bad and like pee, but yesterday I walked in and it felt more perfumes than Bath and Body Works- that can't be too good. They had up to 5 puppies cramped up in one space and had no care in watching them or making sure they were comfortable. At the very end of the store, there was one of the "cubicles" or so spaces where they keep the puppies for display FULL of poo. Up to the point that the puppies were stepping on it. I get that nobody wants to deal with that, and even if it's your job it's not an enjoyable process, BUT tHe employee who appeared from the back to "clean" the spot literally GRABBED THE PUPPIES BY THEIR SKIN and basically threw them to the side for her to clean. Look, I don't care if you're having a bad day, you simply do NOT grab a puppy as if it's an old rag. There are ways to hold a puppy and carefully place him on the side. My sister and I witnessed it and we both (didn't scream) but said out loud to the peole next to us "that's not how you hold a puppy". This is just one of the horrible things I have heard and seen PetLand do. Your store can smell good, your store can be packed, and you could have some really cute puppies, but ethics are even more important than that. As someone who cares so deeply about animals, and dogs, I was so disappointed and felt so sad leaving this store, because the staff barely cared for the dogs. Nobody was consistently checking on the dogs, and I saw that multiple dogs were in their small, little rooms just sitting next to their own puddle of pee. Even a big dog that nobody paid attention to, was stuck in his little room with his own poop AND pee, barking for attention. They looked miserable, besides the few cute and popular puppies that every teenage girl comes in to play with. The staff who worked in the front, saw, but quickly turned away and ignored it. Besides the care of the puppies, the staff weren't attentive to costumers and didn't care to check up or ask any questions. On top of that, puppies were extremely overpriced, and didn't look like they were cared for in the way they should be. Please don't buy pets, adopt them!! I really wish I could buy these puppies and save them, it really sucks how much the employees didn't truly care that the puppies were sitting in their own pee for who knows how long. Look up online before purchasing your puppy there. With little research you'll find many concerning problems with Petland's puppies. Many of them come from PUPPY MILLS and you can easily see it when looking at some of them. Idk how the are still in business. There is a reason for why no other pet stores like Petco, Petsmart and do on sell dogs. Reputable breeders will not sell their puppies for pet stores, only puppy mills will. Reputable breeders actually care for where puppies are going and their well being. Puppy mills don't. They just wanna make money after it. This is a HUGE responsibility. It is going to be like your baby for the next 15 years. Do you research and think about this other life you will have to care of. Hello, I bought a 12-week puppy who is great and very healthy. It was much more expensive than what I had expected cause they do sell for more than a breeder. My issue wasn't much with the store but with Pet Solutions. The Pet Solutions packages seems to be wonderful at first glance, but the treatment by the representatives is horrible. They barely make an effort to explain things as they should be. They are very aggressive with their responses and really don't care much what problem you are having but they try to cover their backs with everything. It is really not worth it. read more

Horrible experience. Read entire review. This is the worst puppy store in South Florida. I was sold a Mini Australian Shepard over a month ago and she passed away 4 days after being released to me. I purchased the puppy and they made me come back 3 times to pick her up because the puppy was "recovering from a cold". After three times of being sent home and being given free merchandise from the store as a bribe to not get upset I forced the manager to let me see my puppy. The staff nervously tried to clean her up but she was completely covered in feces and nutrical paste. It was the most disturbing thing I have ever seem. They have a bunch of children running the store and they neglect the puppies. They quickly showered her and released her without consent from the Vet. The next day I took her to Dr. Pou who is also another crook. He followed to tell me that "he wanted to run a test for Giardia" bc he believed that the puppy had a parasite attacking her nasal cavity. I spent over $4200 to purchase the puppy and over $300 at the crooked vet. All in 4 days. My puppy had a seizure 4 days after I took her home and died in my arms as I rushed her to the emergency room near my house. The ER Vet told me she believed the puppy had pre existing conditions and was having seizures at Petland which is why they didn't release her to me right away. These people are disgusting and I need to make sure that you all read this before choosing Petland or Dr. Pou. It is all a scheme. They sell you sick puppies so they can rack up your tab. Please stay far away from these people. I reached out to their "solutions" department and I haven't heard back in over a month. So I'm $5000 in the hole and I had my puppy die in my arms. On my puppy... Bought an almost 6-month old Shiba this weekend for $1500 (after being told the German Shepherds were $4500..........). She had all her vaccinations since she was 6 months old (the average age there was 2-3 months I believe) except for one final heartworm shot. I've read a lot of these comments and some of them seem REALLY scary. But my Shiba has been and still is energetic since day 1 (5 days so far), seems very healthy so far, eats and plays a lot. On the store... The staff was friendly, the dogs were all pretty adorable, and the place was clean. The only thing I REALLY hated is that they sold me on the whole "free veterinary checkups and 50% off of spaying/neutering". This is how that works. You HAVE to go to Pou Veterinary Group (read the reviews on them PLEASE; you will thank me later) to get these benefits. The "free checkups" is just the consultation, which I guess is cool. But the 50% off spaying/neutering is complete BS. They give you 50% off of the $100 "PROCEDURE", so you get $50 off of THAT. But the actual bill from Pou Veterinary of spaying/neutering involves the procedure + exams, materials, anesthesia, etc. and it comes out to a total of $700-800... so there's that. That's unethical as hell to sell this as "50% off the spaying" when it's clearly not. They are trying to trick people with a fake marketing gimmick. A spaying/neutering is also SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper anywhere else... trust me and look around. read more

If I can this place gets 0 stars. What a horrible horrible experience! First of all this place is a factory! Everything is too good to be true. They spray the poor puppies with perfume before their "private session" and the poor pup sneezed the whole time and had a horrible time breathing. We came to look at puppies for my mom and we left in distraught. That poor same puppy was put in a small visible window with huskies that were twice his siZe. These huskies began biting its tail and fully attacking the body! My mom began to ask the employees to help the puppy. The employee stated it was just "rough play"..it wasn't until I hit the window hard and my mom began to shout for help did another employee realize it was not "rough play" but it was attacking the pup and kept saying "omg omg!". My family and I went to see if we can find a furry friend and not only were we NOT greeted, but the dogs were ALL what appeared to be SEDATED... my family and I found this VERY strange and a bit uncomfortable. This business is a rip off, they charge you way more than what any dog is worth, my mother went there and fell in love with the puppy, but she couldn't afford it, the manager at the store (Paul I believe was his name) told her that he would take $1000 off The price of the puppy. My mother went ahead and took the puppy and finance the rest. When she got her bill, she realized that he did not take off the thousand dollars that he promised. When she went back and told him he said he didn't remember saying that, and that he had already taken off $800 from the price. This man is a liar, who does not keep his promises! My mother is on a fixed income, and this man just took a vantage of her! They should be ashamed of themselves. Then they tell you they're going to give you obedience classes for your dog. When you go to the first class, you have other people there also taking the class, when you go to the second class there is new people taking the class and all that happens is that you take the same class over and over again because they have to start all over when there's new people.
