Not a bad stop. Things were decently clean, and the selection of product (for us travelers looking for a sweet treat or a quenching drink) was good. Short of gas, restroom, and a few "nutritional supplies", we didn't spend too much time here. But it served its purpose well. read more

This is a classic Petro and it's been around a long time- well before I started driving trucks more than 20 years ago. What it lacks in updated facilities it more than makes ups for in cleanliness. There wasn't a single speck of mildew or even a hard water spot in the shower. And there was plenty of hot water and great pressure in that shower even if it hasn't been remodeled in more than a decade. The sit down restaurant, The Iron Skillet appears to be closed as of 09/28/22 on my latest visit. That stinks but I guess it's hard to get people to come work these days. There is plenty of truck parking here as well. It may not deserve a full five stars but they get one anyway for trying. read more

I haven't been inside a Petro since I was in Joplin Mo but this was a cool truck stop. They offer almost everything u could need for your travels. They even have a restaurant if u have time. The staff were all super friendly and the place was pretty clean even for a truck stop. read more

Showers were super clean and well maintained. $16 for a full private bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, mirror, and hairdryer. You could use the outlet next to the sink while showering. Towels provided in the bathroom. This stop is a must if you are traveling! From the 3 different mail service providers mailboxes to the 24 hour diner to the Barber Shop. I would recommend this stop to anyone who wants to see everything offered here. Especially full time travelers! read more

I have stopped here about four times over the years now while in Rochelle Il or passing through for either gas, coffee or the rest room with the rest room always. It's a truck stop with all the usual amenities but the mobile chapel is one thing that I really like because or the war on religious freedom so I like that it's available. I have never eaten at any of the food offerings in the place or used most of the facilities but what I do use have always worked for me. I think because it's right off the highway and on the right is why I stop here and keep on stopping here. I really can't complain about anything for how little of the amenities I use and the people have always been nice to me. read more

Food was eatable barely. Machines are the tightest I've found. I thought the scumbags at j&j were tight. These are worse. All of Illinois needs to run these scumbag slot machine businesses out of the state. They are crooks and need removed. read more

This is like a one stop shop for travelers or roadies. They have fuel for your vehicles. Fuel for your belly by offering snacks and a restaurant inside. Typical convenience store goods and trinkets. What impressed me is that they also have showers available and a barber for haircuts. Clothing and boots in case you needed to get a chanhe of clothes. I didnt spy a nail salon...otherwise this might have gotten another star! LOL Since this is also a good spot to stop off the highway, I had to use the resttoom while fueling up the car. The restrooms were clean. I had bottles of water in the car and I had a cup with me, since I try to be Earth friendly and reuse my cups. I asked the cashier how much a cup of ice was. She let me know that it was feee. Once I filled my cup with ice, I saw that they actually have a sign posted that the ice is free. That was worth a whole star alone. Since its rare that things are free, especially at a gas station or fuel stop. If i ever get back here, I would for sure make this one of my road trip pit stops. read more

I've been going to the Rochelle Petro for almost 20 years now . The buffet has shown a major decline in quality in the last year or so . Sadly I can no longer recommend the Petro restaurant to family and friends that are coming into town . My advice is go through McDonalds and save your money . Bathrooms work. Main point of stopping here was the whiz. Parking lot made quick and easy access to that whiz so from that perspective it worked as advertised. Clean place which is helpful. Never know what your going to get. Good stop here. read more

Great full service travel stop! This place has all the amenities of a convenience store and gas station plus two restaurants (including a 24 hour restaurant), a movie theatre (for truck drivers), health clinic, barber shop and Verizon store. This facility has very clean restrooms, including a family restroom. The gas station has regular unleaded, E-85, E-15 and diesel. The staff and management is very friendly! read more

They have a really nice store with alot of neat stuff. Large selection of items from tools to lights to chrome. Unfortunately their prices are high on much of their products, even compared to other truck stops. Their movie theater room is very nice with popcorn available at the clerks desk. On to the restaurants they have the typical petro iron skillet. But across the hall is a nice looking pizza shop. Again high on their prices. $3.89 for a slice, really?! Small plate of spaghetti with a garlic roll $8ish. Even for a truck stop that's high! Lots of parking and its kept clean, just don't plan on buying much. read more

I do like Petro's locations in general. They tend to be larger than other truck stops, have more parking space and more services. This one is not the best, the layout is a bit strange but it's still nice enough for its purpose. There's a Blue Beacon truck wash and a garage on site, the usual Iron Skillet restaurant as well as a pizza fast food place. Toilets were clean. They also have a theater, a chrome shop, a convenience store, a mobile phone shop, a medical clinic and the usual showers and washing machines. For those with RVs they have a dumping station free when you buy for at least $10 here. read more

Starters,had tractor serviced here.For $289.43. They in the shop was quick ,and friendly..Now for the IRON SKILLET a very sorry place.The evening buffet,with drink was $16.41, plus a dollar tip. The BBQ on the buffet was beef brisket,with no taste,no smoke and a lot of sause. Now the bbq pork,lot of fat ,grease,and no TASTE what ever. The red skins ,not taste what ever!! How ever the sweet tea ,was the way sweet tea was to be... The c-store had everthing that a truckstop store should have ,but at a higher cost .Than others.. How ever the shower ,were clean ,with plenty of hot water! BUT, THE EVENING STAFF WAS A BIT RUDE . ALL OF THEM.... That was just for Thursday evening....On Friday morning ,I had breakfast here, which was better,And the staff was nicer.... ABOUT THE WIFI- IS BY WANDERING WIFI,which serves most of the truck stops.. Took 1 star off because overall too expensive for everything, including the buffet. The dinner buffet was delicious and plentiful but why charge $2 more than the other Petros? It was clean inside, including bathrooms, so maybe they use the extra money to keep things up. Hmmm. I also used the laundry facilities and those were NOT overpriced, so nice surprise there. They got 2 stars because they were really nice. However I ordered carry out so I didn't have to dine inside alone and they forgot all my condiments and utensils. So I get back to my hotel room to eat and have no Butter or sour cream for my potato no tartar sauce for my fish and no way to eat my food. So disappointing. Stopped here to get a trailer door hinge fixed. After fussing with it for over an hour the mechanic tells me the bolt broke on the hinge so they were waiting for approval for a new one then spits on the floor. A bolt that probably costs 30cents and it results in a lot of downtime. Oh well, 1 star is all I can give for them for this level of service. read more

They are nice to have around in general. Have only prepay at the pump. Very inconvenient. Have a nice selection of books in the trucker store. Had a few problems with finding staff to help me a few times. Very average service. read more
