I'm a fan. Pets Plus is an Orange County chain store and this particular one is in the same plaza as El Cortez Bar and Grill and Wendy's. I haven't had trouble finding parking. The employees have been good to me and helped me when I needed to find pet food and treats. The brands my cats like for food and treats are here. The store is well organized. I've been going for years because it's easy to shop here. My cats seem to want variety, so dropping by from time to time and getting different foods and goodies works well. It's quicker and more fun for me to see all the selections and pick what I think would work, than going online and buying. Seriously. read more

Wonderful local business! They really came through when we wanted to get our dog a special treat for its first birthday. They have a good sized case of beautifully decorated dog treats. When we first rescued our dog, it had some fleas, and we got lucky with a visit with their veterinarian who comes in often and prescribed us flea medication. I went to pets plus for the first time about a month ago because I needed to get a cone for my kitty following his surgery. I wasn't sure which one to get and had a great experience with a very knowledgable staff member. They were also having a sale on everything in the store which was an extra bonus. It really felt like a family owned business - terrific customer service's. Such a different experience from going to PetSmart. I'll definitely return here if there are things I need to get for my kitty. I noticed a constant flow of people going in and out of there. It's quite popular. The staff are always friendly and helpful; warm and bright personalities always make my Pitty and I feel welcome, as well as lend helpful suggestions when approached. The store is always yet very clean and orderly and offers a wide selection of everything from toys to treats, kibbles to frozen raw meat and bones, and even offer products for a number of different species. It's my dog and I's favorite pet store we've tried in the area so far, and this is the one we choose every time. I came to this store since I moved farther from my regular pet store. But, they definitely lost a customer after my experience. Anyone looking for a pet store in the OC area should just go to Furly's. Very unwelcoming customer service and after my experience with the lady with reddish hair, glasses, and tattoos on her hand, I couldn't help but feel like she was racist. Ahead of me in line was an older white man and her tone seemed friendly, but when I (a person of color) came to the counter, her tone changed and was suddenly very rude. I asked "do i go to the other side of the counter to pay?" since the card reader was there, and she blatantly said "what" and I asked again and she replied with a flat "no". I finished my purchase and said "thank you", and she just ignored me. I wouldn't have thought anything of this interaction if she did not obviously treat the white person ahead of me with a better attitude. Seeing how this is a family owned business, I thought they would pay attention more to their customer service to build a client base, but this interaction reflects poorly on their business and I will not be shopping at any Pet Plus stores in the future. read more

I found my dog's favorite wet food in their frozen aisle, it's called Chicka Chicka Bow wow, my dog is 12 yrs old, lost a couple teeth last month. The staff at this store especially Michael and the girl at the front, who's name I didn't get( sorry), have been beyond helpful and amazing. I love all the staff here ! They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to your fur or non fur babies. Every time I have come in I am greeted with a smile and a hello . It truly makes you feel welcome. They always have whatever I need in stock ,if not they are able to tell me when they will have an in stock next. Crickets are a main weekly shopping trip . I never have any issues with the crickets here my lizard loves them. Also love the assortment of bones and dog treats they have. Very helpful & friendly staff but the main draw here is their high end pet food & treats that you won't generally find at one of the big, commercial pet stores. Example - "Taste of The Wild(ToTW)" a grain free dog food, made in the USA. (They also make food for cats as well.) *Beware - Avoid "Made in China"; Too many issues w/their exports. Currently, there are problems being found with chicken-jerky treats. Taste of The Wild website - http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/ I never even knew ToTW existed until, HAPA, my bully-pit, starting showing digestive distress. (i.e. - diarrhea) Spoke to the vet, as well as the private dog trainer & was told it could be an allergic reaction to either the chicken or grains in his food. So, I took out both from his diet! I've switched to to ToTW - Pacific Stream Canine Formula w/Smoked Salmon & the little bruddah is doing much better! (Well, that & the probiotics from the vet!) Pacific Stream Canine Formula (Breakdown) - http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/products/dogs/dry_food/pacific_stream_canine_formula/ However, I'm not a huge fan of his "fish breath..." 'But I love'em! 'And the main thing - he's healthy & happy!! Is it cheap?... That'll be a big fat NO! 'Compared to other dog foods out there, ToTW is pretty pricey. 'But think about it?... $42 for a 30# bag of kibble that may last about a month - That's roughly 75 cents/meal! (2 meals/day) 'A cup of coffee is on average 4 times that! I think my dog is worth a $1.50/day!... 'Well, at least $2.50!! I think in the long run, you'll have a happier, healthier dog, w/less vet visits... ('Crossing fingers!) Ha ha! Convenient, good quality, and fairly priced products. I come here all the time. I love the canidae food selections and treats! Canidae is such a good brand, but not all major stores, like petco or petsmart carry the brand, and if they do, they charge $1-5 extra! The only reason why I am docking them a star is for 2 reasons. 1) sometimes the staff doesn't seem friendly or they seem like they are in a rush or flustered. 2) they never have much selection when it comes to other animals, like food for other pets besides cats and dogs. Other than that, I love this place. I'll be back. AND as a side note, the front dog treat counter, is amazing. I've gotten my dog so many treats from you guys! I am so glad she did. It's an amazing store with super friendly and helpful staff!! In a time where there is major on-line retail and big box stores shipping for free, it's a difficult sell to go into a business BUT do yourself a favor and go to PP. specifically this location in LN is incredible. First of all, everyone greets you and asks if you need help but quickly goes back to working if you decline so you can freely shop. This review is largely to point out what an amazing employee Erica is. She is PP greatest asset. I've been in several times and each time, she has pointed me in all the right directions. She is extremely KNOWLEDGABLE. I call to ask about a food in stock- she orders it and has it there in 18 hours if she doesn't have it in the shelf. That kind of customer service just does not exist in this day and time. We will always shop here for all our needs- food, toys, harnesses and treats. :) Thank you, PP!!!
