Disappointed. I took my puppy Smokey to this location for grooming with Cyndi. I explained to her that Smokey is an anxious puppy as sweet as can be, he just gets overly excited when it comes to people and other dogs because he loves everybody. Cyndi did let me know that she had concerns that it would be a safety issue depending on how much he moves around and that this location is a high volume store for grooming and they do not have the ability to use 2 groomers to groom my dog if it were to come to that and that it might have to be just a head and feet trim. After 15 minutes of dropping Smokey off I received the call that Cyndi would not perform the service because she defined Smokey as too "wild" to groom. Cyndi stated her and her manager agreed and when I picked him up Cyndi didn't even at least trim his paws or head. Cyndi then suggested that I take him to a Veterinarian for grooming so that they can give Smokey a sedative for his haircut. Now this was all confusing to me since Smokey has been groomed by PetSmart before in Perimeter and Alpharetta where it was mentioned he was anxious but I wasn't told they wouldn't do the haircut. I took Smokey to another PetSmart location to ask the Dr about a sedative and was recommended to talk to the grooming service there because she said it honestly depends on the groomer. SHE WAS RIGHT! The manager at this location took Smokey and did a test run with him with me outside looking in the window and said he's not aggressive or wild he's just a really happy dog. She saw the notes that Cyndi left in the system about Smokey and still needed to see for herself what exactly she was meaning by "wild". She was very knowledgeable about his breed and got me in this morning last minute to get him taken care of. To sum up this situation, Cyndi is not well informed when it comes to breeds. I have a Cocker Spaniel and they are known for being very happy and not being able to hold their pee. Smokey is also only 10 months old, he is still in his puppy stage. I feel in my opinion Cyndi didn't want to deal with my dog and his energy that early in the morning. I shouldn't have to get a sedative or put my baby to sleep, when he is non-aggressive and doesn't bite people, just for him to be groomed. This was my first and last experience and I will never go to this location again. read more

I had been coming here for awhile after giving it another shot with a bad first experience. I found a groomer I really like. Well, come to find out they were not expressing my dog's anal glands even though it is part of the service nor were they cutting his nails. Next thing I know I have a 60 vet bill to correct this and she said it would have been a huge problem soon. I religiously have my dog groomed. The "manger" got an attitude because they didn't do their job, didn't call me back and yelled at me. I called corporate customer care who did a nice job but will never be back. Plus my dish didn't feel clean a couple of times even though his grooming looked good. It just takes one bad person to ruin it for all. read more

Just needed to get my dogs nails trimmed as I have for the past 2 years. They tried to tell me I have an outstanding charge which is impossible because I pay at the time of service every single time. Then they said they don't have my dogs shots on file which I have had them trimmed more recently then they said the expiration date was. Fortunately I keep them on hand. Then they go on to say my dog was too distressed and is not welcome back. They said he clearly has trauma from having his nails done... HES ONLY EVER HAD HIS NAILS DONE HERE. Wow. We LOVE Elisa! Not just my fiancé and I, but also our Old English Sheepdog, Remy. She is a phenomenal pet whisperer. Which is why we have followed her from Duluth. She knew our dog was a rescue and a little skittish. We told her before she met him that he was a rescue from Mexico. She always talks to him in Spanish. Our dog smells like he's been rolling in crap and was not brushed, so there's hair EVERYWHERE. After paying for him to get groomed, we will have to go home to bathe and brush him. Let me tell you how David and Chenneil saved me from pulling my hair out! I have a small Shih Tzu named Dobby and he HATES the groomer. This store has the absolute worst grooming business you could even imagine. My girlfriend and I called and made an appointment to have our two dogs groomed, but once we got there, they realized they didnt have any availability for the day. Very frustrating, but we rescheduled for the next day. A little while later we got a confirmation email for the right time, but for a dog that was not either one of ours. We called several times to inquire about their mistake but the people that worked there would just pick up the phone and hang it up. So, we came in the next day for our 2nd appointment and, go figure, they messed that up too and didnt have time for our dogs, AGAIN. We cancelled this time and will never be coming back. There was a time (long, long ago) when I worked for Petsmart. It was a part time gig to to supplement the meager income of my first job out of college, so I know firsthand how worthless Petsmart employees can be. Trust me, I've worked with them. Oy. I've come to this Petsmart location twice now for my precious Tikka and both times I've been pretty impressed. Lots of employees willing to help, the place is clean and organized. I needed a portable crate but they didn't have the size I needed. After checking in their stockroom, they were happy to call the Midtown location and have them hold one for me. While this would typically be the expected response at any store, I know that Petsmarts are often truly deplorable in terms of customer service. So mad props to this location for excelling. read more

I have taken my 12 pound shih tzu mix here to Banfield and to get groomed several times. Banfield is okay--the prices are very reasonable and much lower than other vets, but the wait is pretty long. If your pet has a mild problem, I would probably recommend taking him or her here to get treatment. The first couple times I've gotten her groomed here, they did a decent job. It was around $40-$50 for a bath and a grooming. The third time, however, was not the charm. The groomer cut her hair way too short (granted, I told her to cut it short) and apparently pulled her ear hairs too hard. Her ears were bleeding when we got home. I called the groomer and she said this was "normal" and they weren't bleeding. Poor Sophie kept shaking her head and kept irritating her ears so I took her to the vet the next day (not Banfield). $120 later, I was told to give her pain medicine and antibiotics and after a few days, her ears healed. PetSmart gave me a refund for the grooming, but never will I bring her back again. read more

This big and busy Buckhead store has a knowledgeable staff, great selection of supplies for all creatures, and affordably good grooming services. In this particular review, I'm going to focus on my (pretty positive) experience at the grooming department. This past weekend, I brought my 18 month old chihuahua pug to this location for a good bath and a nail trim. I had a 1 o'clock appointment, but I was looking at the FAQ's the night before and realized that the estimated time for the grooming session was about 4 hours. I called them when they opened on Saturday morning around 7:30am to verify the time estimate and see if I could bring her in earlier. The man from the grooming department was patient with me and answered all of my questions, confirming that the 4 hour time frame was indeed accurate (oy!). I dropped her off at 8:30 before my yoga class and came back around 11:45. They assured me she would be ready by 12 noon. I had to wait a few minutes when I arrived, but it wasn't a big deal. The grooming salon was absolutely packed with pups of all sizes at every station. My little girl came out smelling fresh and lookin' sharp with trimmed nails and a shiny coat. I was a bit concerned when they first brought her out - the female staff member handed her to me without the collar and leash that she had when she came in. I was worried they may have gotten lost in the chaos of the crazy crowded salon, but she was able to find them pretty quickly. I wanted to peruse the store a bit to find a little bone for my dog to reward her surviving the experience. I was overwhelmed by all of the choices and weighing all of the options, but she was pretty antsy. I quickly grabbed a tiny bone and headed to checkout. I was pulling out my card at the register when I noticed that my little darling couldn't hold it in anymore. The cashier was extremely understanding - she pointed me to the "Oops" station so I could clean up after my little darling. Obviously 3.5 hours of grooming without a potty break didn't fair so well for her tiny tummy. I would definitely recommend the grooming services at Petsmart to fellow pet owners - the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the services are good, and the price is great (I paid less than $20 for bath and nail trim). I was surprised by the length of time that it took, but I'm a new dog owner so perhaps that's pretty standard. read more

I took my puppy there for grooming today and my experience was great! My dog is the most hyper dog in the world and the groomer had so much patience with him. I even told her I did not want him to be put on a kennel and she followed these instructions and gave me the exact time when I could take him so he wouldn't have to wait on a kennel. Time to visit this location again after adopting a new friend from the Humane Society. While they do not have a discount book like another pet company some of the staff has definitely made up for it in knowledge and service. After doing a bit of shopping we ended in the training area and spoke to a woman who was so helpful she even advised me on a harness and took the time to figure out the size needed for the new pooch. We were both sitting in the middle of an isle for awhile trying to figure out which was better fit. A harness was purchased and is working just fine the "tugging" is now under control. If you are in need of toys well let me tell ya they got them and everything else for both feline & doggies. Training classes are offered and after seeing so many dogs of different ages and sizes behave so well in different training stages I will be looking into this very soon. Worst PetSmart ever! I've been here a couple times and the last few times; I've had to wait so long in order to get my dog. Today, however, was the last straw I've had with this location. My dog had an appointment that was scheduled at 11:00 AM and I dropped him off at 10:45. I was given a estimated pick up time of 3 PM. Normally, the stylist is done with my dog before the scheduled pick up time. I got to the location a little before his pick up time and wanted to know how much longer of a wait for him. His stylist said that he was getting his hair blow dried; because,he wouldn't stay still when they touched his face. It's 3 o'clock and you're telling me my dog is now getting blow dried?! So what have you been doing for the last 4 hours with him?! I called the location again (after 3) and asked for a estimated time. Told me he was halfway done, the stylist would call me within 5 mins. The stylist did not call me within 5 mins; therefore, I came back to the store having hope that by 4 PM my dog would be ready. Absolutely not. Still wasn't ready! Ridiculous. I wasn't able to pick up my dog until 5 PM and they still didn't even finish everything I asked for. Waste of my time and money! This was the longest wait I've ever had to pick up my dog. It made no sense. No reasoning besides he wouldn't stay still. Ok. Dogs do that and I believe you're trained to handle them. Since I haven't had the best experiences the last couple of times I've been here; I'm taking my dog to another grooming place. That will be more efficient and act like they care about their customers. read more

I left my dog here for the second time over this weekend, after the first time only keeping him there one night. I just picked him up and he smells like pee, to the point where I had to have the windows down in the car on the way home, telling me that he either didn't get to go out and peed on himself (and he only goes out 2-3x a day) or that in the play area they are doing a terrible job cleaning up after the dogs who go in the play room. Secondly and MOST INFURIATING is that as soon as we got out of the car at my apartment, he went straight to a puddle to drink water and would not stop. He was so thirsty he wouldn't obey when I didn't want him drinking parking garage water. When I got him inside he went straight to his water bowl and continued drinking for 3-4 minutes. I have never seen him so thirsty. I will NEVER take my pup here again and strongly suggest you don't either. He was not taken care of. read more

A great PetSmart with the nicest associates! The cashiers always give our dog lots of love (and treats!) and are very friendly and helpful. We tried the groomer for the first time this weekend and was very impressed! We walked in on a busy Saturday afternoon for a walk-in nail trim and they fit us in right away, did a wonderful job, and we were in and out in under 10 minutes. I read the reviews and was hesitant but have used this company for years. They are a clean location, the staff is attentive and love our dog. I've had her trimmed twice now and no complaints. She looks beautiful, healthy, and happy. Erin begins to bark on the way to the store and practically leaps into their arms to say hi. I was waiting for my dog to finish up at the groomers and overheard a conversation between a customer and the vet staff at the Banfield Animal Hospital here.. the vet staff was explaining the meds the dog will need to be on and the customer asked "how do I give those to him?" And the vet staff said "shove it down his throat.". That is not okay. She should have explained all the different ways that you can give a pill to a dog that is less invasive and less stressful than shoving it down its throat. They need more training. This petsmart was decent. They were very accommodating for my ball of anxiety. They took their time with her and encouraged us to call and check on her. They even gave me coupons. Downside is it is considered a micro petsmart so boarding rates are higher there. She also came home with a sore on her mouth that I don't know when she go while she was there for 3 Days on and off. read more

Pet Hotel Review - After our first try here our dog came back sick with diarrhea. We assumed it may have just been because of the different food or new environment so we tried again. This time she returned with a ton of fleas. Yes they're one of the cheaper boarding services, but any money we saved has been over passed by the amount we've spent in vet visits, flea dips and bombing our entire house. There are several unsavory characters employed by the Buckhead Petsmart (store #0287) in the grooming salon. I was very fearful picking my dog up. Not only are they rude and unprofessional, they also lie about doing their jobs. I have been shopping at this location for food, toys, & treats, bringing my dog to the Banfield pet hospital & hotel & grooming salon for 5 years. The quality of service and caliber of employees have declined over the past year or 2. I dropped her off with specific instructions for her to get a bath, clean feet/paws, teethbrushing, pink bows & pink nail polish and be ready for pickup no later than noon. I had not received a notification text or email that my dog was ready, but I arrived at this location at noon anyway to pick her up. A bald headed light skinned black guy brought my dog out, and she looked awful. Her hair was disheveled, no bows, no nail polish, a knot of hair in her ears, her ears looked wilted. So I asked the guy why wasn't she serviced? He was rude when he put his hand out and said, "Whoa, I'm not her groomer, I don't have nothing to do with that, let me call him." So he paged the groomer. The groomer came in 2 minutes later wearing a plain white t-shirt, black sunglasses, and looking like a thug who just walked in from off the streets. So I asked why wasn't my dog ready at 12? He said she is ready. I pointed out everything that wasn't done. He said, "I did give her a bath! Smell her!" I should not have to do a sniff test. She looked unkempt, definitely no signs of a bath & brush-out, no polish, no bows, no clean feet, etc. He, along with some light skinned grooming employee started yelling at me saying "we don't do that, she got a bath only! Girl, BYE! Man, whatever!" the other employees in there started laughing, calling me stupid and saying "girl, gone!" I asked for a manager. A woman named Laurie came in. It took her telling them to stop it & be quiet 3 times before they quit their ghetto, unprofessional behavior. I told Laurie what I requested when I dropped my dog off and said it must've been a miscommunication between the employees that were at the pet hotel during drop off on to now. My dog was supposed to be ready at noon, she wasn't. A text even came through to my phone at 12:12pm saying my dog was ready for pickup when she clearly was not. No nail polish, no bows, no teeth brushing, the groomer walked in the front door in street clothes saying it would take him 10 minutes to paint her nails, so how was she ready for pickup? Her employees behavior was beyond tacky, ghetto, unprofessional, intimidating, frightening, & appalling. This is not the first time something disastrous has happened between this pet hotel & grooming salon at this location, but this is most definitely the worst. I will never bring my dog to that hotel or grooming salon again in fear that they will hurt her, & not perform the services I requested but still charge k gravely mistreat me. Even the manager agreed that it looked like my dog didn't have a bath. She just smelled like she had been confined somewhere in humid heat. They didn't even attempt to spray perfume on her nor make her look presentable. Another grooming salon employee came out the back while this debacle was going on (it was now 12:19pm) and volunteered to take care of my dog but I said no, I'm honestly afraid they would hurt her. The same ghetto light skinned female yelled "girl bye, get outta here!" And another 2 employees joined in laughing with her. I started crying & walked out. This is completely unacceptable behavior. I am so deeply offended! I never want to shop at Petsmart again, nor send my dog to that pet hotel nor grooming salon. How do you give me a ticket/bill to pay $45.99 for services that were either poorly performed or not done at all? Then laugh at & taunt me? They continued their shenanigans even while the manager was standing there, and still made snide remarks, which lets me know they don't respect or fear her or their behavior is okay with her. read more

We take our pup to this Banfield and have nothing but positive things to say. They offer a monthly wellness plan which makes paying for his visits a breeze. They offer drop off as early as 7am and close most days around 7pm so it is really convenient if you work during the week. The vets and staff are very sweet and professional and take that extra step. Walked into this location to pick up a few cans of dog food, noticed the Pet Hotel so I figured I would check it out. One look and I said "HELL NEVER would I leave my dog here." Granted, I know it is better than leaving your furry friend at home all day while you are at work. I do I wish I could call all of the dog owners who chose to take their dog here and tell them to chose another place to leave your pet. It's not a huge deal, but for me as a dog owner the red flags were going up. I witnessed approx 7-10 large dogs playing together in an area that was a little bit bigger than maybe 12x12. I noticed an employee with his knee resting on one of the dogs backs while leaning on the wall casually watching the dogs play. There was a 3 legged pup in the large dog area that could totally hold his own, but when it got to the point that it was 4 dogs on that 1 dog I felt that the employee should have attempted to break up that play rather than allowing it to continue. I also observed 2 other dogs sitting next to an empty water bowl trying to tell the employee that they wanted water. The bowl is not even 5 feet away from the employee, but dude is not paying attention to anything, kind of just staring off. I watched the 2 dogs sitting next to the bowl check the bowl for water and look at the employee like "yo, we want some wate!r" I know how important it is to know that the person or in this case, company that is caring for your pet is doing the best job. In this case, I do not think that PetSmart is doing THE best job. If you are looking for a reliable dog-sitter message me, I can do a much better job then what I witnessed at this location. read more
