DO NOT USE THIS PETSMART GROOMING SALON I brought my dog here to get a nail trim and some treats. I brought her into the grooming salon and had to waited to be greeted and taken back. Laryssa (Not sure on spelling) printed the form and took my dog back. First, she tried to pick up my dog (40 lb lab who HATES being picked up) instead of her walking her back to the table. My dog doesn't do well getting her nails trimmed and get's pretty stressed. The tech wasn't paying attention and my dogs back end fell off the table and she hung by the noose she was attached to before the tech grabbed her. The tech looked at me with this "oh shit" look because I saw the whole thing. Another tech then assisted but neither of them apologized to me for that happening and hurting my dog. They also charged me for a Pawdicure when I asked for a basic nail trim. So now I'm out $20 for a service I didn't want and my dog got hurt in the process. The woman at the register was also less than pleasant to interact with. I am disappointed in the staff at this store and will drive the extra miles to the Schaumburg location where I have never had an issue and my dog is always well taken care of. read more

I had an appt set to groom 2 of my dogs and advised I was running behind with my baby in tow and requested help once I arrived since I have 2 large dogs plus a baby. They were not very helpful and gave me many excuses to provide assistance. I felt so upset I thought why give them my business. In my mind, lousy customer service as a start- bad sign. Their lousy services prompted me to find other groomers in the area who are more understanding and had better prices! Little to they know I tip well too.. their lost! read more

By far the worst service I've ever had. I brought our new puppy there for a puppy TRIM and cleaning . Without my consent the girl took it upon herself to completely shave my puppy . Not only did she shave her but the cut was extremely uneven . It took months for her beautiful fur to grow back . The manager offered me a free grooming for next time if I wanted to go to someone else. Like a dummy I decided to go back and as soon as I walked in I was greeted with attitude. I did not like how she was assessing my dogs fur and comments she made . I informed her I would just be taking my dog somewhere else. As I was leaving an employee in the store told me she would never take her own dog there and gave me a referral to another place . I contacted the new groomer and she said she has heard horror stories about that place. For the cost just find a REAL groomer that knows what they are doing . read more

I've been taking my dog to PetSmart for grooming in Broadview for 10 years and have never had issues. Since moving and taking my dog to the Bloomingdale PetSmart, half of the time my dogs nails are not trimmed. My dog used to get a pawgress report and bandana at every appointment as well. Their grooming salon needs better staff training. They didn't record my dogs paperwork the 1st time I was there and entered his birthdate wrong. So the next time I was in, they couldn't take him. It was very inconvenient as my day was ruined because of their mistake. The groomer also did not seem very apologetic! Will never be back there! read more

I have been a loyal customer of their grooming shop for many years. As a matter of fact I don't know if there a many customers who would drive from the City all the way to Bloomingdale to get their dog groomed. Unfortunately,today I had a horrible experience with the groomer and also with the Manager that was on duty in the afternoon. When I dropped off my Maltese, I specifically told the groomer that I did not want a lot cut off. The only areas that I wanted tapered short were the neck and tummy area . I went as far as to show her how much I wanted taken off. When I picked up my dog, I almost did not recognize him. She literally almost shaved all his fur. I was in shock, and told her that she took too much off. Her response to me was that the computer had the amount that needed to be taken off. The groomer ( Shannon Sullivan) did not seem concerned about my complaint and continued cutting. I proceeded to go go to the cash register and asked to speak to a Manager. The Manager came, and I explained to her what transpired and she went to speak to the grooming department. She came back with an attitude and told me that she took off $6 off of my $50 dollar bill. At this point not only was I insulted, but got furious after hearing the same response from her that the computer was showing how much was cut the previous time. (Which was not correct!) Apparently, they override what the customer tells them when dropping off the pet. She continued to tell me that the fur would grow back!!! No apology, no sense of concern...just basically a "you are out of luck attitude". When I asked to speak to her boss, she said that she was in charge. I continued to press her with my dissatisfaction, and she went back to the grooming salon and left me waiting on the floor .....I proceeded to go the grooming salon to see what was going on...and basically she was doing nothing....One of the other groomers who had groomed my dog in the past, confirmed that it was too short that they had never cut him this short before. The manager still stood her ground and continued to dismiss what had just occurred. I was astounded at the attitude demonstrated, and WARN anyone that goes here to make sure that they do not get this particular groomer. Petsmart you have just lost a loyal customer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to think that all it would have taken was some customer service skills on the part of your Manager. read more

Valentine's day toys for pups ringing up wrong and when I mentioned it to the cashier she yelled at me! I calmly told her I could show her the sign indicating a sale price, she rolled her eyes at me and turned the other way. Oh my gosh, I could not believe this was happening. Are you kidding me? What ever happened to customer service. Seriously do not know where they get these ignorant people from. When the manager, I believe her name was Christine finally came over to find out what was going on, she never apologized for the actions of her ignorant cashier, in fact she didn't even look at me. Unlike the nearby Petco, this store is very clean, and the staff actually knows something about the animals they sell. Not only that, but you can tell they are well cared for. I bought a hamster from them a year ago and she is even tempered and healthy. They also offer cats for adoption and obedience classes for dogs. On the weekends you'll see a lot of people there with their pets. It's a fun place to shop and look at animals. read more

I've taken my two year old, 4lbs Yorkie grooming 4 times already but apparently this Petsmart couldn't handle her... I dropped her off at 6 by appointment and explained to the women what I would like done. I was told she'd be ready by 8-8:30. I get a call at 8 expecting to be told my dog is ready to be picked up. Instead the women tells me that my dog was being difficult and that they only gave her a bath. I was furious because my dog was kept there for two hours for just a bath? Also I didn't believe her when she said she wouldn't let them cut her hair at all especially since this wasn't her first time. I went there and asked why it took so long for them to even start her and the women told me they had other dogs ahead of her. What was the point of the appointment? Also they stated they started grooming her not too long ago. My assumption is that my dog was not difficult but it was the groomer who started at 8pm and didn't feel like staying late to finish her job considering the store closed in an hour. Not only did my dog not get her teeth brushed, ears cleaned, or nails clipped I had to pay $23 for just a wash! The flyer clearly stated the nails and ear cleaning was included! This location is by far my favorite PetSmart. I adopted a bengal last Spring so I find myself at PetSmart a lot more frequently than in the past. I adopted my cat through Almost Home Foundation which holds its adoptions at this PetSmart. When I picked up my cat I had to do it here (Almost Home doesn't have its own building/location) and the whole process was easy peasy. This store is always clean and if there is an accident someone is there to clean it up right away. They also have the special litter that I use in stock...other PetSmarts are always out. Their toy selection is pretty good too...I always pick up a new toy each time...my cat is slightly spoiled. Be sure to sign up for the PetSmart rewards card. You will receive discounted pricing on items throughout the store and you will also receive special coupons (if you are a fan of theirs on facebook you can also get special coupons). read more

Hi - my husband and I have been taking our dog Max to levels 1-3 puppy training for some time now. In the last few weeks we have noticed that the self proclaimed "store nutritionist" has been pushing us on what food we should be feeding our boxer puppy. On serveral occasions he has approached us while we were in class training in the aisles. Our puppy has issues with pulling and jumping so his eyes frequently get very red during class. He has told both my husband and I that our dog is obviously alergic to the food we are feeding him so we need to feed him nutra-something. We have said no thanks and gone back to training but he has followed us into other aisles. We later asked the groomers if he was a store employee, they said no he is a 3rd party representing a food brand. I think it is very misleading for him to call himself the "store nutritionalist" and he needs to leave the people in class alone. He is abrasive and pushy. Also today when paying for nail grinding, the lines were incredibly long. 2 registers were open and I waited over 10 min to check out and at that time each register had at least 6-7 additional people waiting. My cashier said to the guy in the employee room "Alex do you thing you should open a register?" He said no, walked away. No one acknowledged the long line or the wait. The waiting customers were all complaining. One couple split to one in each lane to see which would be faster! Overall we like this store and the training, but have been soured for these two listed reasons. read more

I had my pomeranian groomed here couple of times before and I've never had any bad experience until today. She shave him down and left about 1/2" to skin when I specifically told them not to cut too short because it's going to take a couple of years for it to grow back. And I had to pay $64 for a dematted and a furminator when there's nothing left to dematt!! Now he has to wait for awhile until his hair/fur to grow back to normal. I could have it myself!!! The Sales Lead Tanya in the grooming salon was very rude. We took our puppy in for a trim and some spots were missed so we took him back in to get it touched up and Tanya was rude when our dog was being dropped off and picked up. She wasn't the groomer on the dog but Tanya acted rude and sassy with me. I didn't think it was a big deal that we had our dog brought in to get it touched up but she was not happy that we had to waste their time. read more

Groomers are inexperienced. Too many dogs roaming with owners in too small a space, especially on Saturdays (recipe for disaster). Carry brands that will slowly kill my dog over time, but also carry semi-decent brands, but WAY overpriced. But the one thing that recently started annoying me is the Nutro sales rep they have going around pushing Nutro on customers. Yes it's one of the best brands Petsmart carries, but don't have a rep that doesn't personally know the owner's dog pushing a food that may not be a good fit at all. Rubbed me the wrong way. I'll stick to the higher quality places that don't mix their shelves with brands that outsource from China. Always do your research and read the ingredients, don't pay attention to the statements made on the front of the bag. And always look for products that ensure all ingredients are sourced from the USA or New Zealand. read more

Katie was very patient, knowledgeable, and wonderful with my difficult dachshund. My dachshund doesn't like getting his nails cut, but she handled him professionally and with such excellent care. I kept apologizing but she was very soothing and caring to my dog. I was very pleased with her ability to handle such a complicated situation. She was very calming, not just to my dog but to me as well. I was very pleased with her ability to handle such a complicated situation. She has passion for her job and seems to be very organized. At the end of the visit, there were two big sweet golden retrievers (not sure if that's exactly the breed) which my dog seemed intimidated. My dog growled and barked at them. As we left, Katie stood between my dog and the other two dogs. As if to distract my dog as a human buffer. I couldn't thank her enough!! read more

The groomer named Nicole has been giving my bulldog Lexi a bath since the day I got her. She gives the best spa day for my baby girl and Lexi loves seeing her! I tried 2 other groomers when I was in a pinch and both those times Lexi came down with an ear infection the next couple days that required a vet visit and antibiotics. I know wait for Nicole to be available and will never see another groomer :) read more

I recently took our 2 & 1/2 y.o. Beagle, Lexie, for shampoo & nail trimming at the Bloomingdale PetSmart & I was very impressed with the work that was done on her! Ashley Y. was really nice & very professional & did an outstanding shampoo & nail trim on her! Lexie's coat was dry & shiny & her nails were clean & evenly trimmed, edges smooth. Ashley also advised me that she had clipped some extra hair around her paws. Something I didn't know about having to be done. She also told me that Lexie was really good & she enjoyed taking care of her & would take care of her grooming needs again. I think my girl was happy with her too. And as I mentioned before, I was really impressed with this wonderful tech's professionalism & doing a bit more to make our girl look pretty & smell good! Thank you so much Ashley! I like this petsmart out of every petsmart I have gone to. I had gotten my pup the hair treatment here since I own a husky When I came here they were very nice especially for it being my first time bringing her there. They are right next to Barnes and Noble which works out for me. Their prices are a little high for the treatment, but for the quality I cant complain. When buying dog food or treats for my pup the associates here are actually happy to work or at least they look happy. They are very helpful here and they know what they are talking about. read more

PetSmart is the only place that I will go to for all of my animal's needs. They have everything that I am looking for and more! The staff is absolutely wonderful and are always trying to make sure that I am getting what I came in for. The pet trainer Nancy is terrific she is wonderful at her job. She will be the only trainer that I will trust with my current and future fur babies! The grooming salon is full of people that genuinely care about their jobs. I have used a few different pet stylists (Tanya, Ashley C., Asia) and have had no hiccups when it comes to the consistency that they produce. I have mixed feelings about this store. I buy dog and cat stuff and anything from the aquarium section. The employees seem most friendly. The prices here are a little more than the Wheaton store. I have not had any return issues at this location which is a big plus for me. I have been coming here for 4+ years and a lot of the times there are 1-2 registers open and very long lines. A couple of times I just walked out. The fish here are a hit and miss sometimes. I have purchased both healthy and appearing to be healthy fish which turned out to be sick a week later. I have seen a few tanks with ick, however that happens even in the home aquarium. From shipping to re-bagging and selling the fish to customers creates a lot of stress to fish. Fish get sick too from stressful situations, however sometimes I think the distributors are shipping out bad stock, period. Customer service in my opinion has gone up which is another big plus. The Wheaton location however has a larger variety of fish. Overall I'm pretty satisfied. I have had issues with employees telling me they will get a shipment in on so and so date, stopped in to not have the item in stock, but I do believe there is no guarantee because the distributors decide what each PetSmart gets based on sales. read more

This was my first time ever with my 6 month old puppy in taking her to get a puppy bath by groomers. THIS WILL BE MY LAST AS WELL. I honestly could've done and always have done a much better job in her bath than those "groomers". They seriously lack training. My poor puppy came home with chipped and split nails, which NEVER has happened before until this day. I usually trim them myself at home because I don't trust other "groomers" for this exact reason. The other staff at this location are nice, but their groomers are not trained nor are they as friendly. Petsmart management, you should hire NEW AND TRAINED groomers, not keep this unprofessional people who work with other customer's babies. Never will I come back here. read more

First guinea pig died after a week. We purchased 2 more right before Christmas 2017. A month later , I have a kid with ring worm and 2 guinea pigs with bald spots that are more likely the source according to the MD that treated my son. Yuck. Can't wait for the vet bill. read more

I called for an appointment to get a dog bath. The girl Cassandra put me on hold for a long time. I called back thinking she was probably busy. When she answered the call the second time she stated there are no appointments for a dog bath. I just recently moved to this area and must say this store is always empty and employees are no where to be found for assistance. I guess they don't care about customer service. I called the petco store and they took me right away no questions asked. I been a loyal petsmart customer for 7+ years and this location is the worst i been to. I've been going to this Petsmart location for about a year, maybe a year and a half. I always thought it was a little bit better than the Petco up the street, but the last time I went in there they put themselves in a class of their own. For me, the experience of something goes a long way. Obviously the product must be of good quality as well, but I really take note of the shopping (in this case) experience as a whole when making a decision whether or not to go back. I've recently adopted a cat and in so doing received a small booklet of coupons. I took a coupon for a small, free bag of cat food to the store and unfortunately they didn't have the size of food my coupon was good for. One of the supervisors took that coupon (a $16 value) and applied it to the cat food of my choice. I couldn't believe how willing they were to make it easy on me. I will keep going back there to support the Bloomingdale Petsmart and everything they stand for. If this store keeps up their engagement with pet parents, I have no doubts about their business as a whole. read more
